Sunday dinner was amazing, only thing we went for so can't really comment on anything else but atmosphere and decor was lovely, had a great seat in the window which was lovely and the footy was on and they allowed dogs ?
One of my favourite pubs in Lewes. A proper freehouse and a really great community feeling. Absolutely excellent ales and an open fire, and dog friendly too. The kind of pub where you can instantly feel welcome, even if you are just passing through.

After coming back to Lewes having been away for a fair while, had a good time of it in the Black Horse, didn't get to try the food, next time perhaps.Old enough to remember when the Pewter Pot, otherwise known as the Meridian, and also, even further back, the Windmill, were going concerns up at this end of town.
