Matteus caribbean cuisine LTD

Incredibly delicious & flavourful food, curry goat was just perfection so soft and the sauce was slightly spicy but not over bearing. The rice & pea has great flavour and the plantain was so sweet. My partner had the ackee & salt fish and she said was the best shes had. The complimentary coleslaw was a nice touch to mix with all the other flavours. Will be back again soon for more! Thanks ?

Pizza Hut Delivery

Vaani was incredibly polite and helpful when I asked about the menu and pricing. My kids felt really comfortable in the shop while we were waiting. The other staff members were also really nice.

A fun and vibrant restaurant, great atmosphere. We were served by Charley who was fast and efficient, plus she makes a mean cocktail ? We tried two of the specials which were 10/10. Food was tasty, fresh and there was plenty of it. Overall very good experience!

First impression clean, tidy and cheerful. Vagary of folk dining, including children, all seemed well pleased with their dining experience. My wife is an excellent cook, and we rarely choose to eat out, but away from home needs must. Haven just driven down 400 miles from Carlisle I was up for something to eat and was pleasantly surprised as was my wife with all aspects of this diner. We both had different Pizza, mine overwhelmed the plate! Well cooked, spicy and well presented. Nice bottle of red wine on a par in price with most restaurants. Very cheerful staff. A pleasant dining experience after a long day on the road.

Our favourite Turkish restaurant. Really lovely food and great service. Have eaten in a couple of times but usually go in to collect a takeaway. No complaints and highly recommend!!!

Nice place. Pleasant atmosphere. Very, very beautiful as soon as you enter. Nice music, staff not aggressive.Perfect for events, birthdays etc. Came here with the family, for a birthday. Everybody happy with the food, drink (Effes beer, draft, Whiskey etc.) Super tasty food (reason why we always select Turkish restaurants when we have this opportunity). Adams lofted, Klefticonlamb shank, pita bread, wings, appetizers etc.

Basil Spice Indian Restaurant, Bar

We hadn’t been for years. Returned with low expectations. Not only shouldn’t we have worried. It exceeded are best expectations. We had chicken tikka starters. Excellent quality chicken with delicious flavour it was moist and very large portion. The mains were tasty and again the chicken was very good quality and the sauces flavoursome. The keema naan was one of the nicest I have ever had. It was thin and generously filled with lamb. The staff were professional and seemed genuinely interested in our ensuring customers had a good experience. Good value for money. Thanks Basil Spice we will be back.

Attended a family wake. Holly and Harry looked after us.
Perfect attention without being intrusive, kept ensuring our satisfaction. Especially dog friendly.
Food was beyond expectation and ample for the attendees.
Area given for our party was comfortable and big enough for our needs.

Can't comment on the Dinner menu, but breakfast was brilliant. Absolutely great value for money, and even though its a buffet style none of what is on offer seemed to go stale. It was consistently checked and changed and the range of what was there was impressive, my wife and kids particularly loving the maple pancakes. I only really review after 2 visits and gets 4 stars as 1st time round the were no pancakes. Upon my third visit soon if the pancakes are there again I will upgrade to 5 stars

First time visiting as a family of 6, We all really enjoyed our food, only negative is drinks was expensive diet coke £3.89 a glass, 2 other restaurants we go to offer unlimited refill for £4.99 so drinks definitely add alot to your bill

A hidden gem that I stumbled upon the first time and then drove 1.5 hours the second time to get some more. A fusion of Nigerian and Caribbean cuisine cooked to perfection. The small meats were so moreish. A must visit for anyone who appreciates good food.

Beehive Basildon

Good drinks, has a fun quiz night on Thursday and good sports shows. The crowd that arrives is pretty calm, and it's good place to relax. Recommend for chill drinks but one issue is it can be a bit cramped sometimes or some prices for drinks can be a tad iffy

Food was lovely and came in good time. Atmosphere was great and clean.
Manager and Waitresses were friendly and welcoming.

Special mention to Chloe who was fantastic and had a good laugh with myself and friends. She went above and beyond for us, really made us feel welcome. After we thanked her for her amazing service she said to us she has only worked at Pizza Hut for two months. We was surprised as she was very knowledgeable and confident. Than you Chloe!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Sushi and Bento House, conveniently located right by the Basildon bus stop, making it super easy to access. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that made me feel right at home.

The service was exceptional! The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to help with the menu. They offered great recommendations, making the dining experience even better.

Now, onto the food—wow! The sushi was incredibly fresh and delicious. Each roll was expertly crafted and beautifully presented. I particularly enjoyed the unique specialty rolls that showcased a wonderful blend of flavors. The bento boxes were also a highlight, with a delightful assortment of items that were all equally tasty.

Overall, Sushi and Bento House is a fantastic spot for anyone in Basildon looking for delicious sushi and a great atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back for another meal! Highly recommended!

Cannot fault the food, reasonably priced, as for the staff that serve you, they're rude as they throw your food on the counter and move onto the next customer without a thank you. Ask for battered sausage got normal on 2 separate occasions, got home realised it was too late! If the servers had better attitudes and smiled it would make this chippy 1st class all round, but until that happens many people say customer service is shocking

Kingswood Kebab & Cafe

Highly recommended. 1st time tonight that I have eaten from here and I must say that my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed the food. We both ordered a large kebab and chips to share. The pitta bread was cooked properly on the grill, almost charred and crispy in places which gave great texture. The meat is flavoursome and the salad was extremely fresh and lovely presented, we ask for our sauce and salad to be separate which was accomodated and the fries were crispy. Delivery was very prompt. All that I mentioned are the basics of a enjoyable kebab yet so many places in Basildon fail to achieve. I will definitely be ordering from here again.

We ordered the pork fried rice, Singapore fried rice, 211 - vegetable black bean curry, and 106- king prawn Cantonese. Everything was delicious — highly recommended!

PIZZA MAMA MIA

I ordered a pizza and it was made to perfection. The ingredients were fresh and normally I don’t like the crust in pizzas, but even that had a nice buttery texture. The staff were polite and offered me extra sauces. Definitely a new favourite??.

Great Chalvedon Hall Public House

Laura, Thank you so much for making my Nan feel welcome, she is 96 on Tuesday and we popped in for a quick glass of wine as she has lived in the area nearly 60 years and often walked her dog passed the pub, your kind and caring nature make's the pub wonderful, you put the ramp up in advance for wheelchair access, and the locals embraced Nan's lifetime stories. Thank you so much for a lovely few hours.

Basildon Kitchen

I come in to place a order was was meet by a lovely polite girl who took my order, she made my pizza perfectly just the way I liked it and looked clean and spoke very nicely and had excellent manners. The cook waved and looked nice too, he also done a great job with my food, salad was fresh and the sauce was nice. Kebab was good quality, not oily at all but could have done with a few more extra strips.
The only reason I didn’t give the food 5 stars is because the chips could do with an oil change I think they was a little brown but still nice.
I would order again. It looked clean inside and well organised and staff were polite.

I ordered the chicken chow mein and prawn balls. The service was great, they served the food within 15 minutes - with takeaway. The prawn balls tasted fresh and so delicious! Would recommend to anyone around this area!

Ho Ho Chinese Basildon

First time trying local Chinese in new area & so glad we went here. Takeaway was delivered within the given time slot everything tasted great. It’s a shame you have to pay delivery charge despite ordering over a certain value but the portion size was very good. Beef chow mein, salt & chilli prawns, seaweed, curry sauce & spring rolls came to £28 which is not bad. Would definitely try more from the menu when more people are round! Thank you :)

Pizza Go Go Basildon

Update since previous review (now ive tried more of the menu i can assure you the amazing meal i had last time was not a one-off and this really is a 5 star takeaway) Pizza gogo was and is still the best place to order pizza from in Basildon. This time, I tried the thin base, which was incredible. Thankfully (unlike other pizza places near by) they are plenty generous with toppings. See the picture below for this. Like before, they continue to have very good value deals - normally, i can't warrant ordering pizza just for myself, but with their deals, I can. Great service as per usual, including very quick and polite delivery. All the food is hot and amazing! Thank you!

Staff are expectional. So friendly and chatty.
Tried something brand new that isnt yet on the menu but definitely needs to be! Definitely recommend this Indian for good quality food and genuine staff.

Papa John's Pizza

Best pizza in the UK without a doubt, the deals are fantastic and the flavour is just a class above all the others. The service is fantastic and I have never been let down by them in 4 years of ordering from them, they have also never got my order wrong either so bravo.I went to collect a pizza last week instead of ordering as it was very late and they were near closing, despite it being so close to closing the guys there took the order with a smile and made me like always a great quality pizza which really helped me after a very bad and long day. Thank you to the staff at Papa John's Basildon.

I really like going to this place. I prefer this more than the other Subway in Basildon. The staff are kind both the lady, kevin, and some guys in the kitchen. I see myself eating here more often especially now that they can serve hot drinks.

Zara Indian Takeaway

I ordered the chicken curry with pilau rice, naan bread, a popadum, and dips — and everything was absolutely spot on. The chicken curry was rich and full of flavour, with tender meat and just the right amount of heat. The pilau rice was fragrant and fluffy, pairing perfectly with the sauce.

The naan bread was warm, soft, and slightly crispy on the edges — great for scooping up every last bit of curry. The popadum was light and crispy, and the dips were a lovely touch, especially the mango chutney and mint yoghurt.

Portions were generous and the food arrived hot and fresh. Definitely one of the best takeaways I’ve had in a while. Highly recommended!

My first visit here, food was good, quick service. Tasted nice and fresh. I had the veggie breakfast and there was plenty, very big plates. Price not bad, not the cheapest but certainly not the dearest. Will be returning, one of the better ones in Basildon.

Lovely relaxing café/bar. Excellent atmosphere and the food was amazing, big choice of food and drinks both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. I had bacon and cheese smash burger and it was a 10 out of 10 burger. The prices are good for what you get and all the staff were really friendly and helpful. This was my first time here and I will definitely return!!!!

Come here a lot and always enjoy the food, today was a little bit disappointing, the fried slice was only crisp around the edges, the middle of the slice was just soggy, also the toast had probably been toasted for 10 seconds and then butter spread on it, it was just a wet soggy mess, the staff are always helpful and friendly and the cafe is clean

Your standard Indian restaurant food, nothing out of the ordinary. The decor was very dated, felt like I had travelled back to the early 2000s.
Food, service, location, parking, atmosphere all was nice. It appeared to be the locals regular place for Indian food. Not somewhere you would travel to eat, but a good spot if you're local.

Battleswick fish and chip shop

Went in for 2 cod and chips. Only needed 1 cod and chips as the potions are big.
Excellent food was amazing. Girl on till was very good and welcomed you when you walked in. Waited about 20 mins as cooked fresh when ordered. You can ring ahead with your order. You can also use card to pay. We live in Laindon 10 minute drive away, but it's worth it. Keep the standard going guys. Well done.

I've not had a subway in years but thought I'd treat myself to one of their delicious breakfast flatbreads.However the colleagues in the store said that Subway no longer does the flatbread option - probably wasnt as popular as other options but I will miss it - especially having a tuna melt! *chef kiss*The way the sausage and egg comes is different too - but it's so much better! Better than I remember! Love a runny egg - perfect!Even though I had to compromise and have a normal bread sub, Subway definitely didn't disappoint! Was as delicious as, or perhaps more than, I remember!!4 stars because the coffee machine was broken so I couldn't have a lovely cup of tea. But these things happen!

Googled ‘Chinese’ in the area, found them. Went and ordered Egg fried rice, Chicken chowmane, sweet & sour chicken. Nice looking place. Friendly staff. Food was actually really nice. The portion sizes were generous and the flavors were spot on — exactly what I needed. It’s clear they take pride in their food and care about their customers. Using more and more, cannot fault the quality of the food, chow mein ( in my opinion) used to have a funny taste but now tastes A1, best curry sauce around and the 'chicken balls' are suburb (even though they are flat) you get loads of them, enough for 2.Do I recommend, definitely a yes and delivery is usually within half hour.Negative, no Chinese Calendar for my old mum ??

Im always a little weary when it comes to something new visisted on new years day after seeing my local kebab van was closed for the day glad to say i think i found my new favourite best chicken kebab w all salad n chilli sauce out there donner was amazing too!!

Absolutely one of the best bakers anywhere I love all Greg’s as always it’s fully wheelchair accessible and also service dog friendly I didn’t get the usual snarky you can’t bring that thing in here usually they mean the dog but some places have also banned me from bringing in my wheelchair they don’t get it when I say crawl but never in Greg’s the sausage rolls are to die for and the cherry Bakewell muffins are out of this world

The Plough & Tractor

This is a great local pub with a long standing history, the current land lady has just celebrated her 25th year. Atmosphere can go up and down but generally good especially when live acts are performing at weekends. It's quieter mid week. It would be nice if there was food available but there is a kebab/ burger bar in the carpark. Plenty of parking and occasional special events in the summer such as family days, Easter egg hunts etc and of course the staff are football mad so always ready to support local and national treams. New Year is always a good night.

New cheese / steak sub melt was very nice, but roll just just a bit overcooked, mine was a bit 'too crispy', other than that I would go back to Subway, definitely yes ..
