Milkshakes are great too - 10/10

86 Furtherwick Rd, Canvey IslandWe popped in for fish and chips after a day out. It is a lovely restaurant, clean, friendly staff and was obviously well liked by locals.
The food was amazing, beautiful fresh fish cooked to perfection, amazing chips and a salad garnish, with fresh bread and butter on the side.
Service was friendly and quick and prices were reasonable.
Best fish and chips we have ever had. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back when we are down that way. Thank you!

She had a medium doner box, I had a combo chicken shish & doner. We both had chili on top & a side pot of garlic sauce.
Wow! The portion size was immense, she couldn't finish he's, so we some have leftovers for the next dinner. Plenty of meat in the box, a generous bed of salad and lots of flavour.
We both really enjoyed our meal and would recommend to those living on the island.

Did order extra yorkies and roasties, had I known how big they were, I wouldn’t have ordered extras lol. Also ordered a Giant Pig in Blanket, it was huge! ?
Ordered the Roast Beef, very impressed with the portion size, lots of vegetables too and loads of gravy! Everything was perfectly cooked and arrived hot and well packaged.
Friendly delivery driver just topped off a great experience all round, would HIGHLY recommend.
Also gave 5 stars for atmosphere, despite is being a delivery, as I’ve eaten there several times before, and service has always been good.

Lobster Smack
Haven Rd, Canvey IslandI saw the lobster smack being advertised on Facebook and large group of us decided to attend on the bank holiday Monday and it's safe to say we were not disappointed. The service, food and atmosphere were exceptional and they were very accommodating to the needs of our children. We cannot praise the staff enough with how friendly and welcoming they were. With a £5 wristband for the bouncy castle, candy floss and face paining available the kids were more than entertained. We will definitely be returning and are looking forward to it.

83 High St, Canvey Islandtasty chinese takeaway. never used them before only used them cos our normal one was closed, but will be using again, one of the best chineses i have had for a long time. unfortunatly i ordered again today fri 12th dec and i ordered it to arrive at 18.55 and it arrived 1 hour early so we had to keep it warm for an hour till our guests arrived which spoilt it a bit, hopefully this was a blip and wont happen again

Didn’t take card payment not sure it was temporary. Was not a problem as there is a ATM in the supermarket opposite. Highly recommend. Will be going again for sure and nice and local .

You go upstairs, lovely welcome from the lady at the bar, wasn’t busy, probably best to book as not a big area, ordered food cash only, omelette ,chips and salad presentation and fullness on the plate amazing tasted yummy nice and fresh, excellent value for money, well done Janice. Near the seawall great for an after lunch walk. Pleased we went here would go again ?

Best fish & chips on Canvey Island. There is a short parking area directly outside or you can use the free former NHS building.
We always go for the small cod & chips meal at £9.90 which we like. Beautifully cooked, moderate sized portion everything.
The rest of the menu is diverse with pies, chicken, halloumi, spicy things etc and plenty of drink choice.
Service is swift & welcoming with 2 regular staff behind the counter. Waiting time is minimal in our experience and often has a few people getting dinner when we are.
A worthwhile end of week post work treat on a Friday night.

We always vary between smoked chicken, salt & chilli chicken/prawn, duck, seaweed, beef chow mein, anything in black bean sauce, prawn toast and rice & curry sauce. Portions are very good and prices are fairly reasonable (around £25 for 4 dishes delivered on average). Free prawn crackers & a bottle of drink too if spend over £30 I think. My only critique is wish they did normal mini veg spring rolls as don’t like these ones they are large battered! Sometimes a tad greasy but overall enjoyable!

New Mandarin Chinese Takeaway
358 Long Rd, Canvey IslandFriendly young Chinese man who takes the orders at the shop and also the white delivery man. Both are so warm and friendly. Without sounding rude, white lady who works their looks as if she needs a good wash. Her hair always looks greasy. If you’re front of house, look representable. People like myself will judge you as I’ve already done here.

The food was a very good price in my opinion. Chicken saag, mushroom pilau and a can of drink for under £14 and it even comes with a free poppadom amd mint sauce which I was really happy about ?
The food tasted really good. Had a really nice flavour to it, it was hot amd the portions were big aswell
The Guy on the front desk was a really nice guy. Took the order over the phone swiftly, said 20 mins, got there in 15 and it was ready for me.

30 Furtherwick Road, Canvey IslandFirst of all, I’d like to say that as of today’s visit to Greggs, Canvey Greggs is now my favourite place on Earth. It really is better than Disneyland and that is all down to the star that is Miss Lily Adams. She served our hot cookies with such a level of precision that I was blown away. She really went above and beyond to make this particular Greggs visit unforgettable. She floated round the store like a cleaning weapon, the crumbs were disappearing as she shot past. I vouch for Lily to go for the position of Greggs CEO. Shall be visiting again and highly recommend!

Shells marina tearoom
Smallgains Marina, Canvey IslandShells marina tearoom is one of those hidden gems. Located inside the boatyard, it's a little confusing to get to, but there are sign posts directing you. It's a very cosy affair, however a fair sized outside seating area and tables inside. The food is cooked in a tiny kitchen (how Shell manages is a miracle), fresh, hot and tasty. I only had a roll as I was feeling a little peckish. Car parking is very hit and miss, but there are places to park. It is essential to book for Sunday roasts as they are very popular.
