42 Spa Rd, HockleyFantastic food. Fantastic venue. Fantastic atmosphere. Fantastic staff! Me and my brother brought our younger brother here for dinner. Couldn't fault anything from the night. And the staff were incredible and looked after my brother for his birthday.
You won't go wrong here. Been here 3 times. Each time the food has been amazing and there is plenty on the plate. Not once have I thought I had an average time here

Essex, 60 Southend Rd, HockleyThe Spa is a just great pub, it does exactly what a local should do. The staff are so welcoming, the customers are the friendly and the beer is great. If you want a place where you can have a few beers and just relax after a hard week in work then this is the place for you. Paul always says hi to me and my wife when we are there and the rest of the team make this our favourite place in Hockley. Drop in you’ll have a great time

The Smugglers Den
315 Ferry Rd, Hullbridge, HockleyI visited after a 30 year absence. Living across the river in South Woodham in the 70's & 80,s we'd cross the river at low tide. The sugglers Den isca cool joint. Initially went for lunch, but they only serve food from 1700. Which is a shame as it was very busy, and a constant stream of people walking the river footpath. I was on my motorcycle, and there was enough space to park the bike right outside the pub. I will return.

The call taker was understanding and polite even though I was ordering from an old menu, he ensured that alternatives were offered where what I wanted was no longer on their menu.
The order arrived swiftly and was hot. The portions were generous and well cooked, the barbecue ribs (dry) were amazing as was the pancake roll which was not overpriced.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal without any added soy sauce and will be ordering from here again

253 Ferry Rd, Hullbridge, HockleyStopped here late for my second Kebab from this shop. The guys had run out of Doner meat on the gyro skewer, so I opted for lamb shish. Don't know what the guy uses to marinade his meats but when I stopped to eat, it was perilously close to a religious experience. ???Parking: Street parking bays right outside the shop.

I’ve been visiting Costa stores for years, but since moving to Hockley two years ago, I can honestly say I’ve never experienced service quite like this. The team at the Hockley branch is truly exceptional. Their attention to detail and the genuine rapport they build with each customer sets them apart. They remember little things about your order and about you which adds such a personal and thoughtful touch to every visit.
For me, it’s the flat white always made to perfection, every single time. Without fail, it’s a 10/10, and it’s become such a daily highlight that I now find myself going in almost every day just to enjoy one.
Ellie, the manager, and her team consistently go above and beyond. They strike the perfect balance between being professional and warm. Even in moments when the store is busy or they’re met with rushed or impatient customers, (I have witnessed myself) they remain calm, kind, and composed. It’s a level of professionalism I rarely see, and it truly makes a difference.
Of all the Costa branches I’ve visited and there have been many this is by far the best. The team deserves real recognition for the passion and pride they bring to their work. They’ve turned a simple coffee run into something special, and they make my mornings brighter.

40 Spa Road, HockleyI would just like to highlight the value of a member of your staff..’BARRY’. I attended the store today in Hockley on my way to work wearing my work uniform (paramedic) and a member of staff ‘BARRY’ insisted on paying for my pizzas, as a thank you for my service.
This kind gesture touched me and really made my day…. and it will not be forgotten.
