                                                    Balti Palace Tewkesbury
29 Barton St, TewkesburyI was staying in Tewkesbury last weekend as we were going to Prescott hillclimb and we went to Balti Palace on the Friday night. The Prawn puri starter was definitely the best I've had in my 45 years of going to Indian restaurants. It was great to see monk fish as one of the options with currys too, it is a favourite of mine. We enjoyed it so much we actually went back again on the Saturday evening and tried different meals which were just as lovely. The service and friendly atmosphere was brilliant. Can't wait for my next trip to Tewkesbury.

The food was excellent, very tasty, well presented and the staff are all so wonderful, and we dined out in the garden area with our little dog Colin. Crystal Rivers
117/118 High St, TewkesburyGreat service, great food, great time!
My Wife and I were lucky enough to attend the relaunch as Sapphire and we were both thoroughly impressed with both the food and the new decor which added a quite lavish feel.
Lobster and lamb chops to start, although my lobster was amazing, nicely seasoned and cooked very well, I still found myself with food envy for the lamb chops.
It had been quite a few years since I'd had lamb chops as memorable as the ones my better half ordered tonight and let me try (I'd have probably kept them for myself had I ordered them)
For mains we had the lamb naga which had the perfect balance of heat and aroma, the lamb just melted in the mouth, as tender as could be, we also had the chicken Shashlik which was more suited to milder curry fan but no less flavourful.
To accompany the delicious mains we had mushroom rice, although simple, it had care taken to elevate into a standout dish on its own, the saag paneer was a lovely little addition and we've finally found cheesy naan that has a cheese pull to satisfy.
10/10 will be going back

                                                    The Bell
Church St, TewkesburyI stayed here with my sister for the weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Lovely twin room, we stayed in room 9 which is in the old building above the kitchen, which wasn't noisy. A fan and fire were suppled, which were not needed. The beds were super comfy with very nice bedding.
The bathroom is old but to be expected of a very old building, lots of hot water! The manageress Molly told us the bathrooms are to be refurbished when possible.
Great food, breakfasts really nice with two really lovely waitresses who could not do enough for you.
Sunday lunch was to die for, three meats and all the trimmings and again service wonderful.
Rooms: There are two low level accommodation buildings attached to the hotel which look nice, the online photos do not do this Hotel justice. There was scaffolding at the front of the Hotel when we stayed and I believe they are painting so no noise.
Nearby activities: The Bell is over the road from Tewksbury Abbey, which is well worth a visit. Check when open to the public as tours are available.
The market is open on Saturday mornings, its at the other end of town and worth a look.
Tewksbury has lots of shops, especially charity shops.
There are lovely walks by the river and a good choice of Historic hotels to stop at.
Walkability: The Bell is an old building with little steps in doorways but you can see them. If staying in the main building there are a few stairs to your room.
Noteworthy details: The staff in this hotel are so lovely and a credit to Molly who runs it. Nothing is too much trouble, you just have to ask.
I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Lower Apperley, GloucesterWe came here for the first time with our three year-old son and very well behaved dog. The food was lovely, the interior was beautiful and the staff were very helpful. We met one of the owners who was out on the floor interacting with customers and was very sweet to our son and dog. Even got some toys out for our son. Very cosy, lovely views and a great family atmosphere. We highly recommend.

Park, Lincoln Green Ln, TewkesburyLovely hotel and breakfast was fantastic. There is no guest directory in the room and the App is useless. It doesn't even give you check out or breakfast times. They don't offer room service which is disappointing. Overall the room was well presented with a few annoyances such as the incorrect sized toilet seat being fitted and only one plug socket to service both the kettle and the coffee machine.

108 Church St, TewkesburyFor anyone that loves real ale (proper beer) or cider, this is the place to go. It looks like a 'normal shop' from the outside and might even appear intimidating on entry but don't let that put you off because this place is a genuinely friendly pub with a TARDIS like interior ('2 back rooms') and remarkably knowledgeable and friendly staff (and 'regulars'. If you want a genuine pub with real beer and that's it this is worth a visit!

Cheltenham Rd, Beckford, TewkesburyI stayed a few times, at The Beckford, under the previous ownership and became disillusioned.
Needed to stay in the locality and gave them a call.
From there on, the experience was great, right from booking; the room was much improved, the steak excellent, good breakfast, although perhaps a bit pretentious with only Sourdough, no proper bread,
But excellent Eggs Royale.
I will be using The Beckford more often.

67 Church St, TewkesburyI am disabled so no ground floor rooms I was on 1st floor bit of a climb but made it room was quite big the only problem for me was a short flight of stairs to bathroom a nice size plenty of hot water bed was a little hard but I had a good nights sleep nice and warm room no connections for usb but plenty of power points breakfast was really nice friendly staff and breakfast was served in residents room because I had my dog with me Lexi was treated to a sausage breakfast as well so she was happy as well car park at the back so that was really helpful I didn't know they had room service I paid £90 with a dog and breakfast standard rate the room was clean and plenty of tea coffee milk and sugar the towels were exceptionally clean as was the bed clothes I really recommend this place as it's not far from shops and restaurants also near to Abbey will be staying when I go to Tewkesbury next
Rooms: Very decent sized clean room and bathroom
Nearby activities: Not far from museums and the Abbey
Safety: Very safe car park at back
Walkability: Right on the high street for shops and restaurants
Food and drinks: The breakfast was very good and fresh brewed coffee
Noteworthy details: Old fashioned but it is 16th century building but very clean and staff friendly and you can park a car safely

Will definitely be visiting again as we love Cafe e Vino ?

                                            The Cross House Tavern
108 Church St, TewkesburyFor anyone that loves real ale (proper beer) or cider, this is the place to go. It looks like a 'normal shop' from the outside and might even appear intimidating on entry but don't let that put you off because this place is a genuinely friendly pub with a TARDIS like interior ('2 back rooms') and remarkably knowledgeable and friendly staff (and 'regulars'. If you want a genuine pub with real beer and that's it this is worth a visit!

                                            The Beckford Inn
Cheltenham Rd, Beckford, TewkesburyI stayed a few times, at The Beckford, under the previous ownership and became disillusioned.
Needed to stay in the locality and gave them a call.
From there on, the experience was great, right from booking; the room was much improved, the steak excellent, good breakfast, although perhaps a bit pretentious with only Sourdough, no proper bread,
But excellent Eggs Royale.
I will be using The Beckford more often.

                                            The Royal Oak Pub
Main Rd, Bredon, TewkesburyWe've enjoyed Bar Snacks and Sunday Roast here. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming and the food fantastic. The Burgers are first class and the Sunday Roast was easily the best we have had locally. Portions are generous and everything cooked to perfection. We would thoroughly recommend The Royal Oak for food and hospitality.

                                            Maisie's Courtyard Cafe
The Old Sheep Market Office, Oldbury Rd, TewkesburyLovely experience. The cafe was close to closing time but, the gentleman serving couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and offered to get get chairs, re-open awning and brought us out plates even though we were happy to just eat our sandwich on the go. We’ve not had service like that in a long time. Well done.
