Our first visit was just for a drink on a sunny day and we were greeted with a warm welcome - so much so that we decided to return with friends for food - great welcome again, lovely pizzas, fab wine too! Now regretting that we hadn’t tried the Cricketers sooner but will definitely be back! Thank you!

The Square, PetersfieldThought we'd give this place a try. This was on a weekday lunchtime, and it was reasonably quiet, and you order at the bar with a table number. The sandwiches are massive haha. Nice beer and friendly staff. Certainly a place we'll try again.

Pages Yard Old Stables, PetersfieldLovely cosy little restaurant - popped in on a recommendation by one of our party and was delighted to discover it lived up to expectations. Despite a small kitchen they offer a range of really delicious dishes. Definitely recommend if you're in the area.

Folly Market, The, 10/12 College St, PetersfieldAfter seeing one of Lauren’s celebration cakes on their social media, we reached out to see if she would be willing to make our wedding cake and accompanying blondie/brownie selection. Lauren has a wonderful selection of flavours, including catering for those with special dietry requirements. Lauren was a joy to deal with throughout the whole process and the finished product was event better than I could have imagined! For how many brownies and blondies we ordered, there were barely any left after the day but the few we had were thoroughly enjoyed on our minimoon! What’s even better is that if we ever want to re-live our special day, we can just nip down to Chinwags to grab a couple of their super yummy brownies! Thank you so much, Lauren!

Closes 9pm, arrived 8.50pm on first visit and greeted by someone who clearly just wanted to close and go home! Walked in, looked at menu and was barked at - told I could only order from what was left, nice! Annoying as poor service.
Second visit yesterday much better and very happy thank you.

Dragon St, PetersfieldHaving eaten in and ordered a takeaway we can commend both.High St situation with public parking two minutes walk away.Busy even at 6pm so booking is recommended. Takeaways can be ordered by phone but sit down meals are probably better since the restaurant is smart and comfortable.The Thai specialities are well worth trying. But the menu is extensive featuring a wide choice of mild, spicy, vegetarian and pescatarian. Something for everyone.We spent around £30 per head not including alcohol.Worth a try!??

Village St, Sheet, PetersfieldNever been here before. In a nice setting in Sheet. Large garden for eating/drinking outside. Menu was restricted but the pizzas were lovely. Service didn’t seem very enthusiastic but maybe because in a small village. No information as to where to order sit etc.
we sat outside and there was a mixture of people.
One child came up to our table and just stood there and stared like Oliver Twist. No one said anything so I told him to go away which he did. Pictures of the village green.

The Five Bells
High St, Buriton, PetersfieldStopped off at The Five Bells on Saturday 11 October for a late lunch en route to Portsmouth. We arrived just after 14:00 to find the pub quiet—only a handful of other customers, no music, and a restaurant area that could’ve doubled as a walk-in fridge. Cosy it was not.
The barman (possibly the landlord) wasn’t exactly radiating warmth either. His manner was more funeral director than front-of-house, which, paired with the silence, made for a rather frosty welcome.
On to the food. As others have noted, the menu is limited—a surprise given the pub has its own road sign off the main road, which suggests a more ambitious offering. My father had the smash burger (£12), which he declared excellent, and another customer echoed the praise. I opted for the Fish and Chips (£17), which was… fine. The haddock was modest in size—think Birdseye dinner party—but edible. I wouldn’t order it again at that price.
In all, a decent enough pit stop if you’re passing through. Just don’t expect roaring fires or roaring laughter. And if you do go, perhaps bring a joke or two—the barman could use one.

28 High St, PetersfieldSitting at the window seat of The TownHouse on a crisp December afternoon, watching Petersfield's high street bustle past, I found myself in exactly the sort of spot you want to be during the festive season.
The place was properly busy – that warm, convivial atmosphere where Christmas crackers snap intermittently and you catch fragments of laughter from tables tucking into their Christmas dinners. There's something rather wonderful about being in the thick of it all whilst also having that observer's perch by the window.
I'd gone for something simple: a fish finger sandwich on white bread. Now, this might sound like a modest choice, but sometimes the straightforward things reveal a kitchen's quality. It hit the spot – nicely done, no fuss, exactly what I fancied.
What particularly impressed me was the service. The WiFi had been playing up, and one of the gents working there sorted it out for me without any bother. That kind of attentiveness when you're clearly run off your feet speaks volumes about a place.
The TownHouse captures that neighbourhood pub feel whilst clearly being somewhere people choose for proper celebrations or a laid back pint. It's got character, warmth, and staff who actually care. Would I go back? Absolutely.

Robina and Nigel and their team were so welcoming and helpful that I felt as though I was staying with friends. My room (room 20) had a gorgeous view - as well as a very comfortable bed, large bath and fabulous shower. Breakfasts are generous and delicious. This is a perfect base for visiting the multiple attractions in this area.

Premier Inn Petersfield hotel
Winchester Rd, PetersfieldStayed over weekend of 8th Feb this year. We have been several times as it is close to family who live here. The staff are consistently excellent and very friendly and helpful in both the premier and the beefeater.
The premier itself is a bit tired but clean and the parking is free which is a bonus.

19 Chapel St, PetersfieldWe arrived for lunch at 1.15pm on a Saturday. We ordered from the set menu and the food was really great. The only downside was, that the opening time for lunch is 12noon - 2pm, so at 2pm, the lights went out, the music stopped and we were presented with our bill. It was a shame because the whole experience felt rushed and I never did get my cup of Chinese tea! So if you want to enjoy a chilled lunch, get there at 12!

18 The Square, PetersfieldA strong 4-star experience, thanks to excellent staff and cakes. The team at this Petersfield branch was polite, efficient, and refreshingly low-pressure on upsells. Nero's cakes are also a definite highlight.
The missing star is for two reasons. First, as a coffee enthusiast, I find the over-roasted, lower-grade beans used by all major chains to be a letdown. Second is the 60p surcharge for alternative milks, which I find excessive. While I don't typically visit chains, this was the best option for me at the time, and the great service made it a positive visit.

I had the three stack of fruit pancakes which were phenomenal ! They were super thick and cake like, addictive. Although three is maybe too many as they’re sweet and filling, so I would recommend getting less.
We were served by Brandon (I hope that’s the right name!), who was super funny, friendly and kind. Overall this place is delightful, would recommend

Wonderful staff, beautiful room with loads of character. And the food that was put on my the Folly was excellent!! Highly recommended!

The Black Sheep - Petersfield's Sports Bar
1 Sheep St, PetersfieldOne of Petersfield's original pubs formally the Royal Oak. It is a pub and a great one. Don't expect anything fancy, just good beer, pool table and some guys having a laugh. Might not tick everyone's box, but for me its a good place to have a beer without the worry if some idiot with a Rolex talking about how much better they are than the rest of society.
Visit with the right attitude, and leave happy, drunk and maybe having made some new friends.
Certainly recommended.

They do full cooked breakfasts, bacon butties, etc. till 11.30 am, then sandwiches, paninis, jacket potatoes, soup, burger, etc. from 12 pm. The Half Moon
32 London Rd, PetersfieldWe stopped by The Half Moon on the way home from Sky Park Farm. It was a busy carpark so assumed it must be popular and therefore hopefully really good.
Nice bar area, which we stuck to. There were a couple of big parties going on so didn't venture any further in. Nice choice of drinks and a good range of food on the menu. We did arrive at 2.10 and the kitchen closed at 2.30, so I think this may be why our meal wasn't quite what we hoped it would be.
We ordered a sharing Camenbert and then a burger and a brie, bacon and cranberry roll. Sadly all the food arrived at once, although not sure why. So the mains went back, then the same meals were brought to us half an hour later when we had to let the staff know we'd finished the starter and were ready for the main. They'd clearly been reheated and my brioche roll was rock solid, so it did get sent back and they did make me a new one. My friend suffered through her warmed up burger.
Service was OK, but it did seem as though we were having to ask for everything ourselves. A shame really because it looked like a really popular place to go and had good reviews.
Beautifully decorated for the festive season and some tempting looking events were being advertised.
Would probably go back but it's a shame this visit had a few negative.
