2-3, St Georges Passage, 2 St George's Rd, DealWe have passed by a few times but did not realise it is dog friendly. Glad I stopped by and asked. The starters were roasted goats cheese with beetroot and pes shoots and pulled brisket tacos, we shared and both were very good indeed. Main courses were herb crusted roast cod for me. It was served on new potato mash and was a really nice dish. My husband had the buttermilk chicken and that looked perfect too, he said it was great. No room for dessert, maybe next time. The place is lovely, lots of art everywhere and it is for sale. The staff were lovely, friendly and did a good job of making sure we had a great evening.

Marine Rd, Walmer, DealOften you find staff that don’t give a damn and when you find a gem like the chap at Hutt 55 who helped myself and friends with bikes on Saturday (think it was Coulder - apologies for spelling!), you are uplifted and so appreciative. He was polite, kind, extremely helpful and all with a lovely smile! Thank you - I will be back.

1 South St, DealBeen wanting to go here for a while, they opened at 4pm, I went in and ordered a special platter, i think that's what it was called, it contained a big portion of donner meat / chicken donner meat, chicken skewer, lamb skewer, kofte, and salad with two pittas i got an extra side of 4 pittas, some chips and they gave me some rice too. The quality of the meat is superb, very juicy and tender. Really enjoyed it. The wife enjoyed it, my neighbour enjoyed it. Most definitely recommended. Thanks again!

The cod was thick and succulent and piping hot (even when we got home 10 mins later). Lovely friendly staff/owners. Pristine premises and it looks great too. I cannot recommend highly enough!

Upper St, Kingsdown, DealOften camping nearby, I have bypassed this pub many a time in desperation to get to the beach, but recently called in on the off-chance of getting a roast. The welcome was warm and friendly, with plenty of friendly village locals having a Sunday catch up. The roast menu was succinct (but in my experience that is not a bad thing) I got the impression that the meats were sourced locally - lamb, turkey and beef on the day. We both had the beef and it wasn't what we are used to in London (half alive and God forbid if you asked for medium) This was proper old school big joint of beef, carved like your mum used to, and being a bit of a bone broth nerd, I could tell this was real gravy - and lots of it! The horseradish sauce came in a pot big enough to scoop out a few dessert spoonfuls if we wanted too - none of that one squirt in a paper mini cup. Whoever is hidden away in the kitchen has been doing this, and doing this well for a very long time I suspect, not giving in to any 'jus' and 'foamed celeriac' trends. Whatever had been done with the parsnips was divine - I think it might have been the slow cooking and a bit of honey. The puddings on the board sounded like the ones you would also get at home - comforting and satisfying, but unfortunately, there was no room at the inn after the main! Must add that we had a fabulous bottle of red for under £20 that would have easily been £30 back in London!

187-189 Middle St, DealWe called in for a drink on Friday night just before they closed very friendly we then noticed they did Sunday lunch booked for the lunch what a fantastic place the staff were absolutely fantastic. The food was absolutely delicious the roast dinner was superb. Desserts were also fantastic.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Thank you for making us welcome. We were staying down for a 60th Birthday. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience.

Pier, Beach St, DealWe greatly regretted not waiting in the queue for a lunch table here, and trekked into town instead, only to discover that there are extremely few cafes in Deal (on the high street anyway). We returned later after a swim for cakes, tea and croissants. Superb experience, no wonder there are queues for tables!

The Strand, Walmer, DealA hidden gem I didn’t know I needed! Honestly, I don’t understand why this isn’t rated five stars. The service was fantastic—warm, welcoming, and served with a smile. The staff were incredibly accommodating, making the whole experience feel personal and relaxed.
I tried the curried goat, and the flavor was out of this world—a true taste of the Caribbean, perfectly spiced and absolutely delicious. This is a beautiful, family-run establishment with so much heart. When I’m back in Deal, I’ll definitely be coming here again!

I bought a medium size portion of chips, they were fresh out of the fryer and cooked just the way they should be - nice and crispy on the outside & fluffy on the inside.

2 South St, DealI have ordered from here a few times and I can say the food is good, hot when delivered and on latest occassion a drink had been forgotten but they were very quick at bringing it back out to me. Loving the chilli duat on the frys, and the milkshakes are pretty good .Will use again!

If you’re looking for authentic Oktoberfest vibes, Taphouse Beer Cafe is the place to be! Their festive grub was absolutely top-notch, from the mouthwatering bratwursts, perfectly paired with an impressive selection of beers. The pretzel was soft and salty, just the way it should be, and the mustard was perfect. Service was spot on.

36 The Strand, Walmer, DealRarely leave reviews, unless somewhere or somebody is really exceptional in what they do. This place ticks those boxes. The young man who runs the shop (when we’ve been in) is super friendly, calm and seemingly unflappable, even when catering for a wedding on the beach and kept customers in the shop happy and feeling looked after. The fish and chips are freshly cooked, great sizes and fair prices. There are other places but I won’t ever find out if they are as good or better - wouldn’t want to risk it. A1 , keep it up!! ?? ? ?

16 Duke St, DealWhat an amazing pub! The owners and staff obviously really care about this pub and have done a wonderful job at making it a really welcoming place. They let our children make their own pizzas, which were really delicious. The beers were also great. Thank you for a great couple of visits on our holiday!Kid-friendliness: Our kids were invited to cook their own pizza, we've never experienced that in a pub before, was very, very nice to feel so welcome!
