The Lower Buck Inn
Edisford Rd, Waddington, ClitheroeStayed overnight here. The room was very pleasant and well equipped, with a really comfortable bed. Food was unpretentious and tasty, and good value, and we then enjoyed a lively hour in the bar after our meal, chatting to locals. The owner/landlord could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We hope his ambitions for the hotel going forward are realised, as he deserves to make a real success of this lovely hostelry.

Freemasons At Wiswell
9df, 8 Vicarage Fold, Wiswell, ClitheroeVisited the freemasons yesterday for a meal and an overnight stay with family. We had the 'taste of freemasons' taster menu with the optional wine flight. The food was exceptional, there wasn't a mouthful we didn't enjoy. The accompanying wines were also excellent and well chosen. The staff were attentive & very welcoming throughout our stay. The accommodation was marvellous; spotlessly clean, quirky and very comfortable. The breakfast next morning was excellent too. We couldn't recommend this place highly enough.

Friendly and attentive staff. Space is divided into various packets of an old building, so interesting and would feel comfortable even if not very busy. Would recommend and visit again. Open Thursday to Sunday from memory.

It would not have been enough for someone with a bigger appetite. I do think this place struggles when it gets busy, they perhaps need to reduce the capacity they have to cover.

47 King St, Whalley, Clitheroehad their 3 for £20 deal and 3 more from main menu, plus a dessert and huge jug of sangria and it was only about £70 for the two of us! great quality of food and portion sizes actually decent considering its small plates! my only gripe is that if you’re not in a big group to get a booth then it’s only bar stool type seating which isn’t the most comfortable but it’s not that bad :)

Mitton Rd, Whalley, ClitheroeMy first time trying The Three Fishes having been aware of it since it opened and it didn't disappoint.\n\nThis a great building in a beautiful location, very nicely appointed inside and we had excellent service and excellent food taken from the Sunday lunch menu spent over perhaps 2 hours or so which made for a really enjoyable meal.\n\nI'll definitely revisit and I'd recommend to anyone looking for this type of quality food and service - it's not inexpensive but it is quality.

We had to wait for our table at the front door for roughly 10 minutes, once our table was ready we proceeded to a completely empty upstairs seating area so I couldn't really understand why the long wait for a pre booked table.
Initial service once we sat down was pretty good our drinks and food order was taken promptly and food didn't take long to come out. However, it felt like once the food was down, we were sort of left to our own devices. I tried to get some extra condiments for the table, but they never arrived.
After finishing our meals, nobody came to clear our plates or even ask how the meal was. We waited a while to see if we could just get a look at a dessert menu, but we decided against it as we didn't want to wait any longer.
We could've easily left without paying, and I don't think anyone would've noticed. again, we had to wait to pay the bill by the front door.
I'd return here as the food was really good. However, I wouldn't rush back.

The Friary
34 King St, Whalley, ClitheroeNot the cheapest fish and chips around, however they were very good. Staff were polite and efficient, I didn't have to wait long for my food to arrive and it was worth the short wait. I ordered fish chips and peas, which were all cooked well and very tasty.
This shop does not take plastic and is cash only, there is an ATM in the Co-op car park 2 minutes walk away. They also sell Chinese food.

Moor Ln, ClitheroeWow, the recent comments astound me, I visited the Emporium with my wife and 13 year old lab and was astounded by the attentiveness of all the staff that were on duty.\nThey warmly and openly greeted us and sat us in a window seat where we pleasantly watch all the passing people.\nThey couldn't do enough for our dog, giving him attention, water and a juicy slice of ham for him to take his medication.\nAnd lets not forget the food of which was most important for a couple of well walked people, we settled for 2 boards, 1 chateiurier and 1 fish.\nWe being from Lincolnshire were amazed at the amount of food, tasty, filling and perfectly presented, neither of us finished our boards through the want of trying, we had beers, wines and cocktails and were surprised at the price when the bill arrived, great value, great staff, nice atmosphere and all round a place I would highly recommend to anyone.\nDo yourself a favour and visit if your in the area.\nT Dennis

The building has such an amazing history as well, which only adds to the charm. Would hundred per cent recommend! As a random side note, the fan in the room is so quiet which is a major win if you run hot so like to sleep with the fan on!

Waddington Rd, West Bradford, ClitheroeSecond impressions did rather win us over. We booked for Sunday lunch and arrived early and were made welcome.
But no ale ? in a pub? Like many others that had emptied the barrels likely Saturday evening and didn’t want to tap another probably until reopening on Wednesday? Like a petrol station with no fuel in my humble opinion and does make you feel a bit less wanted than those who have drunk before you.
That said, we had a very nice three course lunch for £38/ person.
The pub is very nicely decorated and laid out and the two chaps were very good.
We then cycled to Waddington, about a mile and found three great pubs and a club all open and busy. I got my pint in the end ????

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Ramzan, whose friendliness and attentiveness stood out immediately. He made us feel genuinely looked after, and his service throughout was nothing short of superb.
The food was absolutely excellent, full of flavour, beautifully presented, and made with care. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations, and it is clear the team take pride in what they do. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, and the whole experience had a personal touch that is so often missing elsewhere.
It is rare to find a place that gets everything right - great food, exceptional service, and a host who truly goes above and beyond. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!

A great range of beers, lots of outdoor seating, a couple of terraces and a garden. The staff were all pleasant too. We just popped in for a beer after a walk and ended up staying for two. We intend on eating here now as the food looked incredible. Price of a pint was a little steep at £6.50, but the view was probably worth it. I will return, sooner rather than later.

3, Swan Courtyard, ClitheroeA friend and I were looking for somewhere to have lunch. We were walking down the high street and noticed a courtyard with this tucked away in the corner. It didn't look as though it was open, but we went into the courtyard just to see what else was in there. To our surprise it was open, so we thought we would give it a try. We were so pleased that we did. I had the burger etc. It was huge and very, very tasty. It came with a side salad, including fruits, a small bowl of potatoes, and a little pot of sauce. Very reasonably priced. Nice staff, but one down side is that a waitress came to clear away our plates when we were still eating. However, it's a lovely place and we enjoyed our food, so we would definitely go in again next time we're in Clitheroe. Highly recommended.

The food is high end, price wise, but if you're after proper portions and delicious food then you won't be disappointed. On our most recent visit I had the special red wine beef and dumplings and it was delicious. Also served with veggies and potatoes of your liking. I always get the dauphinoise and they are incredible! I once bought them as an accompaniment just so I could take them home and have them with my lunch the day after ?. Highly recommended, very cosy, not very big inside and you will likely be seated close to another table but if you don't mind this then it's definitely worth a visit!

2A Whalley Rd, Hurst Green, ClitheroeBeautiful little cafe, first time visiting today. Staff very friendly, lovely choice of homemade cakes and good menu choice. They also allow dogs. Had a delicious homemade flapjack and latte from there. Will definitely be back.

6-8 Moor Ln, ClitheroeWe had a fantastic experience at Jungle in Clitheroe. It truly made our trip from Manchester worthwhile. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Ramzan, whose friendliness and attentiveness stood out immediately. He made us feel genuinely looked after, and his service throughout was nothing short of superb.
The food was absolutely excellent, full of flavour, beautifully presented, and made with care. Every dish we tried exceeded our expectations, and it is clear the team take pride in what they do. The atmosphere was relaxed yet vibrant, and the whole experience had a personal touch that is so often missing elsewhere.
It is rare to find a place that gets everything right - great food, exceptional service, and a host who truly goes above and beyond. We will definitely return the next time we are in the area. Highly recommended!
