Ferrers Arms
Lount, Ashby-de-la-ZouchFantastic meal again tonight at the Ferrers arms we have lived across the road for 8 years and would never eat here as food was terrible but since the new manager and new chef I have to say the food is amazing well done Fay Emma and Beth and the lovely team in the kitchen keep up the good work we will see you soon.

It was nice this time but didn’t quite hit the mark and I’m not sure we would rush back. \n\nGood points. \n\nService and staff. Really friendly and attentive, apologised where things were not up to scratch. Good overall service. \n\nFood. The food was really nice with good portion sizes. It all came at the same time and was hot and well presented. No real issues. \n\nDessert. The Chocolate Falls dessert was excellent. \n\nDrinks. Decent quality wine and mocktails fo the kids were really nice. \n\nThe negative points. \n\nWhen we entered, having pre booked we were given a choice of tables as it wasn’t full. The one we wanted, we were told wasn’t the best table as it was wobbly. If that is the case why hasn’t it been addressed and why was it set when other tables that were not wobbly were not set’. Our second choice table wasn’t set and we had to wait for it to be cleaned and prepared. Not a great start but no major issue. \n\nThere were a pile of cardboard boxes on one of the tables which just looked scruffy and took the shine of the place. \n\nMy wife’s choice of both main course (sea bass) and dessert were not available. When we placed our orders we weren’t told this and the waitress had to come back and ask if she wanted anything else. She didn’t bring a menu and we had to ask for one. If something isn’t available it should be made clear when we ordered. \n\nWe asked for straws for the kids drinks as my daughter has new braces and struggles to drink from the glass. They had ran out. \n\nA few small things that were easily avoidable took the shine off why was otherwise a nice evening with good food and service. \n\nWe would probably go back but these things really need addressing so we won’t be in a rush.

No food hygiene rating listed, but you can find online, it's a 4, and it isn't for lack of food quality/hygiene but the place being a bit worn out. Which is fine, the place is but feels very homely. The gentleman was really friendly and polite. Pizzas cooked fresh. Good deals (x2 8 inch pizzas for £12). Didn't skimp on the toppings.

Nothing we could find matched her memory of your sausage rolls. For Mothers Day I ordered her some, along with some other treats, via your online ordering. I know she misses Ashby a lot and the delivery bought a tear to her eye. She reports that the food is just as good as ever!Delivery arrived well packaged and prompt.Thanks so much!!!

No knife and no serviette for the muffin - I thought this was a standard! But then you don't get a glass of water with your espresso unless you ask!

78 Market St, Ashby-de-la-ZouchI recommend any person, if you can, to go in the store, the staff in the store are amazing, you get greeted by the most calming and welcoming smile I have come across in my life so far.I only decided to go to the store personally because the delivery driver couldn't find my address on a previous order, and I was upset that I paid delivery charge but had to go to collect it from the driver.I will never order for delivery again after going in there. They are so lovely, even though I wanted to pay on card, they didn't get mad (I didn't see the CARD ONLY sign). I tried to pay through my banking app but, it failed so I just took a short walk down the street to the ATM.The food is great, it kept warm on my walk back, about ten mins.The burger was tasty and juicy, the fries were crispy and fluffy even though they had vinegar on them. I was expecting them to be soggy when I got back, I was quite shocked because non of them were soggy.I wish I had of left them with my change, their hospitality was well deserving of it.Thank you Ashby Grill.

11, Rushtons Yard, Market St, Ashby-de-la-ZouchThis is a late shout out for a great Italian restaurant, which is family run. The menu caters for a variety of continental dishes, with vegan options. However, Sunday is my favorite time to visit, as they have a delicious English Sunday Roast, with a selection of Beef, Pork, Chicken or Lamb, there is a fish and vegan option with a variety of vegetables, including roast potatoes and a Yorkshire pudding, also Cauliflower Cheese and copious amounts of gravy. It is reasonably priced with an option of one, two or three courses. However for my wife and I, the "piece de resistance" is the Sticky Toffee Pudding, it is our favorite whenever we eat out, but we have never found one to equal Zamanis. The waiting staff are very friendly and efficient, there may be some wait between courses, which is acceptable as everything is prepared fresh. We live in the USA and we can not wait until our next holiday.

For example don’t order a burger, tastes like the cheap ones you get from Tesco and it was burnt. On the other hand fish and chips, gammon, sweet chilli chicken strips are great for example. \n\nThe custard cream cheesecake is amazing.

Service is always friendly and efficient. Unless you are having one of the specials the price is a little bit on the high side which is why it loses a star but apart from that 10/10

Taste Of Thai Restaurant
84-86 Market St, Ashby-de-la-ZouchOur party of ten had pre booked a table at the Taste of Thai for 7.00pm on a Saturday night.\nThe restaurant was already very busy when we arrived and so it is advisable to book in advance. \nWe parked at a nearby car park that was a five minute walk from the restaurant which is roughly half way up the high street in Ashby.\nTo start I went for Thai fishcakes whilst my wife had the Prawns in filo pastry. Both starters were generous portions accompanied by sliced carrot and spicy sauces. Both were very good. \nFor mains we opted for Chicken in Red Curry with sticky rice and Beef in Green Curry with boiled rice.\nBoth dishes were excellent.\nThere was a good selection of wine and beer plus Peroni 0.0%\nThe staff were friendly and attentive.\nWell worth a visit if you’re in the Ashby dela Zouch area.
