15b Market Hill, DissI didn't think it was possible to feel wistful for a restaurant but here we are - our meal was wonderful and the staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating. As someone who doesn't eat cheese it can sometimes be awkward ordering with the changes I ask for but our waiter was so lovely and made everything incredibly easy. Everyone loved their pizzas. Thank you for the great night!

16 Market Pl, DissMr Chips Diss holds a truly special place in my heart. Beyond consistently serving an absolutely amazing fish supper, their genuine friendliness and customer focus set them apart.
My late husband and I were regular customers for years. When the pandemic made visits difficult, their food was something we both missed dearly. He would even meet their delivery halfway between the shop and our home just to get his favourite!
After my husband's passing, ordering from Mr Chips became difficult for a while. His last request when he was home was a fish supper from them – a memory I cherish. My first solo order felt like a taste of heaven and a comforting connection to old times. The personal note they included, sending their sympathies, was an incredibly kind and thoughtful touch during a difficult time.
Their beef dripping chips are a must-have, and paired with their perfect haddock and delicious curry sauce or mushy peas, it truly feels like home. The convenience of online ordering and home delivery now makes them my absolute go-to for a fish supper.
Having judged fish shops in the past (as former Miss Waveny Advertiser!), I can confidently say Mr Chips Diss meets all the criteria for a top recommendation: friendly, personal service; excellent fresh quality food; and fair pricing. Highly recommended!

Plus, you can grab a table on Fair Green to eat - and a pint from the pub to wash them down, and what could be better than that !

13 Mere St, DissStopped off in Diss for a coffee & light lunch, which we had in this delightful café with wonderfully friendly staff, especially Alice for whom nothing was too much trouble. All the food was fresh and very tasty. Highly recommended!

Thatchers Needle
33 Park Rd, DissThe team here were truly a breath of fresh air. The service was second to none. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Amazing for dogs - I have never come across such a dog friendly restaurant before. Everything was very thought out and the attention detail was outstanding. Would recommend to anyone! Just a shame I am only here on holiday otherwise would return in a heartbeat!

22-24 Mere Street, DissMy husband & i had a coffee and it was lovely, Greggs in Diss is clean & the staff are very friendly, it's always bussy, most days the que goes out the door, the prices are cheaper than other coffee shops, we go in quite a lot.

Chapel Ln, Great Glemham, Saxmundham7 of us went today, it was full (always a good sign) and the food was amazing. Great roast dinners and the kids burger was big enough for my 13y/o. Would highly recommend. The outside looked lovely so will definitely visit again in the summer

Relaxing and laid back with tables outside and a covered seating area
Pink painted but lovely wooden beams.
Bounded by the church and village green
It's only open 2 days a month for Sunday lunches. But had a good reputation for its first and hoping to recruit a full timer.
3 good changing real ales on offer
It's a pub that deserves to thrive and well worth venturing off the beaten track.

Baldry's Yard, 1 Fair Green, DissLucky enough to have this little gem on my doorstep. Popped in today for lunch with a friend and had a truly fantastic time. The coffee as always was good and the service was with a smile. Especially grateful to our waitress Lily who made the whole experience so much better. She was professional,friendly and knowledgeable about the menu - all of this was served with a fantastic smile. They really seem to have a fantastic team of staff at the angel and this does really make a welcoming atmosphere . It really makes a difference when staff are so nice. I had a jacket potato with tuna. This came with a delightful salad and was fresh and very tasty. My friend had the Scotch eggs with salad and again this was tasty and there was plenty of it.

Norfolk House Courtyard, St Nicholas St, DissA wonder discovery in Diss. Tucked in a courtyard, it opens out into wonderful covered space with loads of character.
Amelia’s cooking is very special. Delicious flavours. Especially in the exquisite, delicate salads. Highly recommend!

75 Mount St, DissWe are holidaying in the area and popped in for lunch with our dog. The staff were so helpful even with our grumpy dog. The food was lovely, proper pub grub, really nice chips and perfect scampi. Wish we had visited sooner, thank you for your hospitality.

White Hart at Roydon
High Rd, Roydon, DissNeeded somewhere to eat after visiting Banham Zoo whilst on holiday, and after a quick Google search came across the White Heart (20 minute drive away).
A quick look at the menu online I could see that it would cater for a range of ages and tastes.
We arrived as a party of 9 (aged 7-70) without a booking on a busy lunchtime. The staff were really accommodating and informed us that they could seat us outside, the weather was pleasant and so we were more than happy with that. On seating, the outside area was covered and spacious.
They staff explained that they were busy and would be back to take our orders.
This, under the circumstances didn’t take too long and gave us the chance to look over the extensive menu.
Whilst waiting for our food to arrive the children enjoyed playing in the outdoor play area, we didn’t feel that the wait for food was particularly long.
All food arrived together and was hot, the portions were generous and freshly made, and everyone enjoyed the food. Despite the large portions a few of us managed to squeeze in a dessert. I would recommend the Bakewell tart.
The bill was reasonable for a party of 9.
Overall, what a great find. The staff and food 10/10 and I felt they went above and beyond to accommodate us during a busy lunch period. The only negative I have is that we won’t be able to visit again as we were on holiday but if I’m ever in the area again we would love to come back.

The Common, Yaxley Road, MellisHubby and myself Popped into the Railway Tavern today for a bite to eat, lovely warm welcome, great atmosphere and friendly. Tasty menu, we had The Smokey burger and Brie & Beetroot tart followed by sticky toffee pudding and custard. Gotta be the best meal we have had in a pub. Can't fault it. Would deffinatly recommend a visit to the this little gem of a pub .?
