We have visited here a few times when we have been at York. A lovely friendly, cosy pub amazing breakfast and the guy on duty this morning offered to book us a table for the Newcastle match which we were very grateful for would definitely recommend a visit.
Great service, and very busy, so 5 stars to the staff, lovely food, unfortunately they had run out of sunday dinners...... get there before 2pm if you want that, so we ordered pies, gravy and veg, well worth it, spot on.

Very atmospheric pub, old worldly and open fires . Very popular so very busy , courtyard with heating out front for the over flow of people . Pricing was the same as the Cross keys further down- 3 Pints and 1 Gin and tonic (single) = £26.10 - but York ain't cheap anywhere so expect these prices .Wheelchair accessibility: Two side doors that are wheelchair ♿ friendly- level- and a disabled toilet g/f- so perfect ?
