Proper family pub and atmosphere. Staff are suffer friendly and attentive, nothing is too much trouble.I’d like to give a special shoutout to Felicity! Very welcoming, accommodating, friendly and nothing was ever too much. She made our visit so warm and friendly I’d definitely return and recommend. She’s a real credit to your team! X

My favourite Italian restaurant in Oxfordshire!Delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere! The food was beautifully prepared, tasty and generous portions.The staff were very pleasant and helpful would highly recommend it to anyone Thank you so much see. See you very soon.

Peking Chef

Wow, first time using Peking Chef as we've always used New Dragon in the past but they were shut tonight. So glad we gave them a try as the food was outstanding, really tasty and the service from the guy on the counter was also brilliant! It was all significantly cheaper too and we discovered that they will deliver to Faringdon for only £2 so we are now converts and will be using Peking Chef from now on! Nice plus to get the free sac n crack too (prawn crackers and fortune cookies). Loved it!

The Siege Of Orleans

Really lovely venue with great staff, friendly locals and fantastic beers. Thouroughly enjoyed my time there and will definitely go back soon for some more good times.

Fabulous place to enjoy at weekends, the atmosphere including live music, so any Cocktails to experience, friendly staff who look after your every need, Oh I do sound like I own the joint, I do not but every time I go in I feel part of Carterton village family, a great place to enjoy a quite corner drink on weekdays but for food, expect nothing more than Crisp and Nuts, next door do Pizza, across the road is Italian and India restaurant's plus the usual burger, fish and chip shops and breakfast cafe's, I only visited Carterton and could not believe the choice residents from a small village had. Don't forget on their doorstep s also another village named in the Doomsday Book, Burford, I have tried most of the eateries but must confess my most enjoyable meal was at Aargon in Carterton, the best and I mean the best Jalfrezi Curry I have ever been served was in this restaurant, take what I say but if they change their chef meanwhile, I would enquire if it is the same chef they had in 09/10 2023, if the answer is yes you will not be disappointed. Visit Carterton any time you can and you will not be disappointed, for Brits north of the Midlands it is like going back in time but with todays lifestyle, hard to describe, better to say simply, 'Back to the Future', Carterton and Burford are back but G & T's plus several others in the village represent the future.

Bilash

Top class Indian this, we live in witney where there are loads of Indians but they seem to use chewy chicken or they don’t cook it right, 2 take away from BILASH and both times perfect!!!

Aangon

Best Indian we’ve ever had. Every dish was 10/10, even poppadoms and accompaniments were excellent, and the lovely waiter serving us (I believe he was the owner) was polite, helpful, anccomodating and attentive. We ordered the chef’s special sag wala balti chicken, lamb balti, onion and garlic rice, garlic and cheese naan and mango lassi. Every dish was incredible, ambience was lovely, can’t recommend Aangon enough.Note: it’s a little difficult to see from the road, but it’s on the first floor!

Habibs Kitchen

Best Indian food in West Oxfordshire. Portion sizes and prices are very good as well. You get a 10% discount for collection/pick-up.Habibs has become our favourite takeaway

Hoofs

Great place to grab a nice breakfast baguette and other freshly made sandwiches. If you would like fried eggs, pay them a visit before 10am. On my next working visit to St John's school I will be going back again. Staff were great and easy going. Thank you

Burford Road Fish Bar

When it comes to decent fish and chips, on the whole I don't get much joy this side of Devon or Yorkshire. But I have bought fish and chips from Burford Road Fish Bar many times, and it has been uniformly excellent. Succulent cod, light and crispy batter and spot-on chip shop type chips. Perfect every time. The other F&C establishment in Carterton centre can be very hit and miss in my experience.I guess the chip portion sizes could be a bit bigger, but that said I am a gluttonous hog and I could always buy more or choose larger portions. For regular folk, the portions are fine.I have always found the staff warm and helpful, and the owner in particular is always super-friendly and enthusiastic about what he does. My cheeriness on entering is always reflected back at me, and I suppose if I was a grumpy sod I might get treated in kind. Who knows? Anyway, BRFB is a great fish bar run by proper people, and is therefore highly recommended.

The Harbour

Great little chip shop in the centre of the Shilton Park estate. I’m from Scotland so we love to deep fry everything and it’s hard to get stuff that would remind me of home down here. I’ve requested a few things that aren’t on the menu like a Scottish Burger and the service there is fantastic. They have a laugh with you and are quick and efficient in serving you. The food is lovely too and well priced in comparison to the other takeaways on the square. I certainly recommend this place.

Bilash Tandoori Home Delivery

Visiting Carterton with my wife, from North Manchester where we have many excellent Asian take away's' and restaurants I was very pleased and surprised to find Bilash take away on par with any back home. Service was first class and delivered spot on the time requested. As per expected cost of living has risen so much recently and take away's are no exception, however considering the quality of the food and service it more than made up for the small increase of the same order back home, especially Bilash version of a medium Madras Curry, my compliments to the chef, best we have had and on par with any Madras on the famous, Manchester, 'Rusholme Curry Mile' and Leicester Belgrave Curry Mile'.

JPL Peking Express Carterton

Ordered over the phone for delivery and spoke to a polite lady, so I was already at ease. My order arrived to my address fifteen minutes later, perfect to the order, hot and delicious, with a smile from the deliveryman. Very pleased and will order again ?

We were staying in a village just outside Carterton, had heard through the grapevine how good thier food was. We were not disappointed by no means. Not greasy, cooked to perfection ?. Good size portion, reasonably priced and good value.The young lady with long plated on her left shoulder was very helpful and polite, with a smile. Very pleasant lady. Nothing too much trouble.Shame we are 95 miles away.!!!

Costa Coffee

Very good staff I am in a wheelchair and they always make sure the doors are open for disabled customers. They always know what you want and bring it outside for me so that i can have my coffee in the nice weather

Mohan Tandoori Take Away

Ordered on one of the well known delivery apps. I’m a hgv driver so it’s the 1st time I’ve used this restaurant, and my I wasn’t disappointed. I’m from Leic so think I have a fair understanding of the food and i was really pleased with my order. The herbs , spices tastes were fantastic, so happy to have enjoyed there food and can only hope I get the chance to eat again******Just lovely

I was in Carterton and just stopped on the off chance, grabbed a kebab to stuff my face in the car before driving home but what a pleasant surprise.The food was really nice, meat was well cooked. The salad was a nice addition rather than a bucket load dumped on top to make up the bulk.Priced well, tasted delicious and overall a great little find.

Domino's Pizza - Carterton

Good pizzas, prompt delivery , given 4 instead of 5 as my son did a collection recently and waited 15 mins when his pizza was sat waiting for collection the whole time he was stood there and staff said it wasnt ready, but when we have had delivery it has always been good.

From my children's perspective.. awesome pizzas. Never failed to make a great pizza. Chicken kebab, the chicken .. everything. We haven't had a bad takeaway from here.!! If you stuck what to have seriously give these a go! You won't be disappointed ?
