The Back Lane Tavern
11 Park Ln, WoodstockI had dinner here as part of a large group meal during a multi-day conference. We were served a 12-course menu of their tapas. Each offering was delicious, full of unique flavours, and amply portioned. The service was second to none, especially as we were such a large group (~30 diners). The floor manager (?) was very attentive, noticing I wasn't drinking the wine already provided for the tables and got me a soft drink without me asking. She also provided an extra piece of crackling when one of our took a flying leap off the table (oops). I would highly recommend The Back Lane for any meal when you find yourself in Woodstock!

Woodstock Coffee Shop
20 Oxford St, WoodstockStopped in for a coffee whilst in Woodstock, really pleasant service. Nice selection of pastries and top notch flat white, too.
Also, my partner wishes to mention the outstanding ladybird themed nails of one of the staff!

The Punchbowl
12 Oxford St, OxfordGreat little pub in the centre of Woodstock. Stopped for dinner after visiting Blenheim Palace. Food was homemade and really delicious. The staff were very friendly with a great choice of meals and puddings. Recommend the chilli, lasanga and cheesecake.

The Killingworth Castle
Glympton Rd, Wootton, WoodstockFood and service were exceptional. Ribeye and the pork were both cooked to perfection. My Husband said the cheesecake was the nicest he’d ever had, high praise because he is very specific about how he likes his food. A* all around. We didn’t stay so o can’t comment on the rooms etc.

The White House
1 Grove Rd, Bladon, WoodstockI recently visited the White House for a Sunday Roast, and it did not disappoint! I went for the turkey and my partner went for the beef, there were plenty of slices so we were able to share. It felt like a real home-cooked roast, good portions of the veg to share (delicious) along with lovely roasties and gravy. We love gravy so asked for extra on the side, which wasn’t a problem (thank you!!) We’ll defo be coming back for more ☺️

- on this occassion the team was very young and was mucking about at the end of the bar whilst I was waiting to be served.

Museum Garden Café
The Oxfordshire Museum, Fletcher's House, Park St, WoodstockThe Museum I found very interesting with easy to look at and understand exhibits even showing a find that was dug up not far from where I live and never knew about. It’s a place I would like to return to visit the other museums as well. I cannot comment on the food or service as the cafe was

Hampers food & wine
31-33 Oxford St, WoodstockWe popped into Hampers for breakfast before heading to Blenheim Palace—no expectations, just needed to fill our tummies. But the food turned out way better than we thought! We got the Prosciutto Basil panini, cold pasta, smoked salmon baguette, and a white chocolate blondie. The hot panini was a hit with the kids, and the grown-ups loved the baguette and the light pasta. We were just grabbing a quick bite before the day started, so no food pics—but it was a solid find!

Macdonald Bear Hotel
Park St, WoodstockThis is one of the most elegant and beautiful hotels you will ever stay in. It is rich with historical features. The staff are super friendly and the breakfast is wonderful. The rooms are just so beautiful and fully stocked with luxurious items. There’s lots of different types of rooms and we’ve stayed in a few of them. It is only a short walk from Blenheim Palace which is also a stunning thing to behold.

Blenheim Palace, WoodstockEverything was perfect. The food, its presentation, the service and of course the beautiful Orangery with its view over the gardens. The singer was a nice touch too. Not expensive either.

The Woodstock Arms
6-8 Market St, WoodstockVisited on our wedding anniversary for dinner. It was very busy in the bar when we arrived but we were quickly shown to our table in the quieter restaurant area.
Service was quick despite them being shortstaffed and we soon had our starters; homemade humous, and the most fabulous beef croquettes - absolutely delicious.
Mains were equally good; duck leg confit was superb, well exceeding my expectations, and the hake was delicious too.
A great pint of Oxford Gold went down a treat too.
Very good all round - highly recommended.
