35 Silver St, CheddarWe visited on the evening of the 4th.Loved the pub - warm friendly atmosphere.Great decor, range of drinks and facilities.Despite us commandeering the pool table the locals were really friendly.Had a grab evening and would love to return .Highly recommended.

The Cliffs, CheddarThe restaurant I would recommend for asian type of food. High quality ingredients, excellent service and real Chefs. It is a bit overwhelming the fact that is always packed and tiny and I am a bit claustrophobic sometimes but it is definitely worth to taste.

The Cider Barn
Draycott Rd, CheddarAbsolutely fantastic food and cider!! Black Jack's cider ? Handmade Pizzas ? Burger and chips ? Burgers were proper meaty burgers, no fast food or pub chain rubbish. All food and drinks loved by adults and kids alike. 2 pizzas and a portion of chips were more than enough for a family of 4 for a hearty lunch! Went back with a 9 pint bottle of Black Jack's to last us the rest of the holiday (more like a couple of nights ?). Prices are also very good.
Wouldn't hesitate coming here again! Extremely good service and very friendly landlord/owner.

Lion Rock Tea Rooms

Lovely sitting out here in the sunshine and enjoying a drink and a slice of cake after exploring the Cheddar Gorge caves
After seeing someone else with the milkshake on their table, I had to order one for myself, next to my milkshake is their carrot cake with colourful icing on top, we also had a smoothie with lemon and lime cake
The cakes did not disappoint !, they were excellent !
Recommend stopping off at this one when your visiting the caves

The White Hart in Cheddar proved an inspired choice, serving truly exceptional Ploughman's that exceeded expectations. The warmth of the weather mirrored the warmth of our camaraderie, elevating our joy. A leisurely riverside stroll, scenic drive along the Gorge, and journey home via the Mendips through the Combe unfolded with effortless pleasure. The Ploughman's was a highlight, with generous servings of cheese that set a new standard for value, flavorful ham, and for Andy, the deluxe option was a chance to savor every detail. Though eggs, pork pies, and traditional pickle were missed, and bread rolls could have been more plentiful, these minor notes didn't detract from our delight. The pub's serene riverside setting, complete with car park, beer garden, and outdoor seating, created an idyllic dining haven, and our upstairs retreat ensured a peaceful ambiance despite the bustle below. ??????️??

Edelweiss Cafe
The Cliffs, CheddarThe bacon sandwich was really brilliant. Lots of bacon - the scone was fluffy and delicious and the hot chocolate was smooth. We enjoyed the food. The service was quick. Set us up for a great hike. Many thanks - 5 stars.

2 The Cliffs, CheddarMy dad and I went the other day, he had tea cake and a latte, I had a buttered scone with a pot of tea. When i tell you I think that was the best scones I’ve had!! The tea was lovely and my dad’s tea cake didn’t stand a chance, gone in a minute! Such lovely service too, lovely people! The atmosphere was sweet, felt like going to your mad aunts house (In a good and warm way)! The prices were good too, especially compared to the cafe opposite!

Cliff St, CheddarFish and chips were really good and a good portion size. Let down a bit by a chap behind the counter that was rude while ordering. All the others working were plenty enough though. Not expecting Michelin level service in a take away but to be told 'i haven't got time for this' when in an empty chippy and spending £60 on fish chips is not to be expected anywhere.

Waterfall cafe & Ice creams Ltd
The Cliffs, CheddarWhilst in Cheddar we visited for coffee/tea . We were greeted by a friendly staff member. Our order for the above was taken along with home made bread pudding which had a lovely cinnamon aroma too it, my wife acclaimed it as very good. A full menu of food is also available,a nice way to relax for half an hour to watch the world go by.

7 Cliff St, CheddarSuch a good Chinese (and I used to work in a high-end Chinese restaurant, so have had a few dishes in my time!). The Chef is a young man from China ( Xiamen in Fijian Provence). The dishes were delicious and I'd eat there every day of our trip if my waistline would allow!

The Cliffs, CheddarThe sandwich was on the pricey side. However, it was delicious. They offer authentic Cornish pastries, which my friend had and was impressed. The vibe is cozy and warm. Lots of cheesy options are available, being located in the high street area of Cheddar.

5 The Cliffs, CheddarCollection to take away - went late at night, but don’t think are many tables to eat inside maybe during the day? Ordered kebabs and pizzas. Food is always fresh, very tasty marinades, big quantities, good service. Open kitchen and very clean. I would recommend.
