Sherborne Rd, Henstridge, TemplecombeWe headed to The Virginia Ash in Henstridge for their Friday steak night and it turned out to be a cracking evening.
There were eight of us in total and not a single person could fault the food, which says a lot with a big table all ordering the same thing. We all went for steak and every one was cooked perfectly, exactly how each of us asked for it. Juicy, full of flavour and clearly good quality meat. Not a single complaint, just clean plates all round.
The service deserves a mention as well. The two young ladies looking after us were very professional throughout the night. Friendly, efficient and completely on top of everything despite having a large group to deal with. Drinks kept flowing, food came out smoothly and nothing was too much trouble. They handled it brilliantly.
The atmosphere was spot on too. It has that proper pub feel, relaxed and lively without being over the top. It is the kind of place where you can properly unwind at the end of the week and enjoy a good catch up.
There is also a great selection of beers, with plenty of choice whether you stick to your usual or fancy trying something different. It rounded off the evening perfectly.
All in all, a brilliant steak night. Great food, excellent service and a proper pub atmosphere. We will definitely be back.
