Unit B, Silverlink Retail Park, WallsendWe visited the Silverlink branch today with a few of my son’s friends to celebrate his birthday.
Lucie recognised us from previous visits and was lovely as always. Definitely our favourite member of staff at that branch! But they’re all so lovely and welcoming.
She kindly took our order herself as I wasn’t keen to use the app that day.
We had the buffet which was delicious as always and was continually refreshed with more food so we always had a great choice of food to choose from.
Lucie took the cake we’d brought to sing happy birthday with and brought it out later with lit candles and sang happy birthday with us.
We had a wonderful visit and can’t wait to return. The atmosphere is always lovely and makes you want to return.
Vegetarian options: Being vegetarian myself, there’s plenty to choose from. We didn’t get it on this visit but their mac cheese is the best of anywhere you’ll try!
Buffet pizzas that are veggie friendly have Green serving utensils to make it easy to spot.
Kid-friendliness: The children are made to feel very welcome.

I've worked in a Starbucks and we did the same drink and we were way more generous with the ingredients

162 High St E, WallsendBest pizza takeaway in the ENTIRE North East. Every single order (me and my partner are 154 orders in) is absolutely delicious and fantastic. Never late, always a minimum of half hour early. Red hot and unreal. Every pizza and side we’ve had is red hot and extra generous on the cheese. The desserts we’ve had are spot on and also extra generous on the chocolate or sauce chosen for them. The slushes are undeniably amazing and we’re spoilt for choice on the flavours. The hotdogs are so fresh and they follow exactly what you ask for when it comes to choices (IE, I’m a plain Jane and only want tomato sauce on mine, they literally listen to your notes, unlike most takeaways). We usually order garlic sauce and it smells and tastes so fresh every single time. The soft drinks are so cold. The BEST takeaway we’ve ever found and that’s coming from someone who’s VERY fussy. There’s a reason we’re over 150 orders in (since August 2024) in literally a whole year and I’d trust these guys to feed me and my partner any day of the week.

266 Station Rd, WallsendWas once the best Chinese. Their chicken chow mein and chicken curry was the best. Their munchbox was plenty for 2. They did go through a bad spot but closed or changed management (now called Wok Station) and have returned back to their original quality. Only downside is their salty chilli crispy chicken is not the same as before.

6 Coast Rd, WallsendHonestly, I'm a fat lad, I'm not a connoisseur but I'm a bloody good eater with plenty of experience in the realm of sandwich shops. You cannot beat Porky's: their freshly baked sweet treats are incredible and frankly, are too cheap for the exceptional quality they are. Every hot and/or cold sandwich or otherwise I have purchased and joyfully consumed has been an almost euphoric experience. Their sausage in particular, I cannot recommend highly enough. I am so enamoured with Porkys that I would never move away from the area. I'm yet to have a buffet supplied by Porkys but they look incredible value for money and knowing how good the quality of their other goods are, I have full faith in their ability to produce a spectacular spread. I've you've never tried, you're missing out. If you have and you're seeing this 10/10 review from a serial scranner, put your own review on and spread the word. Long live Porky's, for never a crumb is spared.

The staff also really friendly and the food despite saying 20 minutes wait on the app arrived in 5 minutes after ordering. Only moan was my food burger and all was covered in Chinese five spice. I can still taste it... Maybe just the burger and leave the chips plain to pull the strength of the flavor down a notch. I would go back.

134 High St E, WallsendI just ordered chicken tikka Vindaloo with onion pilau. I have to say it was one of the best I have ever eaten. The sauce was spicy, but not overwhelming in heat, enabling me to taste the different flavours. Rice was pure perfection, soft and delicate with a good amount of onion. 27 Frank St, WallsendA regular and honest review. I am bigger fan of the pizza party, but over last 4-5 years the price has climbed from 3 10inch pizza at £12.99 to £20 but the 3 pizza is now 8inch plus 1 extra pizza. Mixed kebab is really tasty but half the time in a wrap it’s all fallen out.

The bad cat cafe
200 High St E, WallsendThoroughly enjoyed our visit this morning. Have long admired the work done by the cafe & rescue & it’s plain to see the cats are very happy & extremely well cared for. The girls are so knowledgeable about the cats in their care (& cats generally), & we had lots of fun playing, watching & interacting with the wonderful pussycats - observing all their different personalities. Would highly recommend a visit (& the coffee was really good too!).

Fish was beautiful, chips were perfect fluffy potato’s with flavour. Mushy peas and curry’s sauce were impeccable the batter was crisp and full of flavour (not greasy at all). I’ve been to chippys up and down the northeast… this would make my top 5:

Reliable, reasonably priced, fast service, friendly staff and the food is always fresh, piping hot and exactly as ordered! I'd never go anywhere else - before moving back to the area, we used to drive from Whitley Bay to this takeaway any time we wanted Chinese food as no where else compares.
