Sunday evening tea time, and was despatched to get a curry. Hadn't been to the Modern for a good few years, so to have the service, cost and amazing food meet all our expectations was great, and fast too. They also chucked in a couple of extra poppadoms, which is always a winner in my book. 5 star service, 5 star food. Only left 4 star on the atmosphere, as obviously it's only a takeaway and not a restaurant, so unless you take your own lights and sound system with you, the atmosphere is a takeaway

The food and staff were so incredible on Christmas Day that we had to come back on Boxing Day — and somehow it was even better! The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, the food was outstanding, and the service was flawless both days. Visited Costa Coffee Barry Waterfront this afternoon. Nice place, lovely and clean. Was very busy today but the 2 young girls behind the counter were very pleasant, helpful and professional. We arrived for a quick drink before returning to the airport and the experience couldn't have been better. They were very friendly when we arrived, we talked a little about our trip and football, they gave us a portion of potatoes and gave us a small discount on the final price.

We ordered a ham and mushroom pizza and it was very delicious. The bread style dough and very tasty ingredients.

I am convinced that we could not have chosen a better place to dine.

Me and my mother were staying in the Premier Inn next door for my 25th birthday.\nWe had booked in for a meal deal with the Premier Inn which we found to be of incredibly good value. It included breakfast, a 2 course evening meal and a drink for an incredibly good price. Almost all of the regular menu was available in this deal.\nDuring the evening meal, the manager Carl and his team gave us incredibly good service and was very friendly. They did everything they could to make my birthday feel special.\nThe food was prepared timely and of excellent quality. I would particularly recommend trying their steak since it was cooked to perfection.\nFor breakfast the next morning, there was a wide array of choices. Once again, the food was of excellent quality. \nI would highly recommend visiting this place if you're in Barry Island. Especially if you're staying with the Premier Inn and you are offered the meal deal with your stay

Honestly, O'Shea's is a great, proper fish 'n chip place.

This is a lovely cafe. They have seating out front, inside but also a little covered area out the back too. Quaint and quirky inside. There is a good choice on the menu but we only wanted a sandwich. I had tuna and red onion, it came with crisps and home made coleslaw. It was very tasty. The tea was good too. Service was fantastic and the atmosphere was nice. It's obviously a popular spot and I can see why.

Wow! What a pub!

My partner did a quick Google search to find somewhere nice for us to have a few drinks whilst visiting Barry. He chose well!

His eye was caught from the fresh signs, pics of outside and it really didn’t disappoint! Its quirky layout and rustic decor has been done so well!
With a skittle alley, fresh darts area and amazing beer garden, it doesn’t disappoint & feels like a tardis! It just gets bigger!

Prices were pretty standard and staff were lovely and friendly as were the locals!

At first we went into it to look for a menu and the boy at the counter was lovely. After looking over the menu we decided to order food from it. The prices were really reasonable for it, we spent just under £20 on three people's meals and prawn crackers. The food was amazing, the only downside was that the chips didn't have much flavour, other than that it was excellent. The portion sizes were really generous for the price and service was really quick. Plus they gave us free fortune cookies and the lady that served us was lovely too.

Stopped here for a late breakfast whilst staying in Sully. The staff are so friendly and work really hard getting the food prepared and out to everyone considering there was only two staff members on. We visited yesterday and I had the poached eggs on sourdough bread. I have to say these poached eggs were the best I have ever tasted in my life. They were cooked to absolute perfection. The yolks were perfect, just the right consistency and totally delicious. I'm not a great fan of the white preferring the yolk, but these whites were delicious too. The addition of the sourdough bread as opposed to ordinary bread added to the taste also. I don't know how your chef made this simple meal so exquisite, but please pass on my compliments to him/her. My husband enjoyed his omelette too. Will be back!
