Priest Weston, MontgomeryFabulous traditional pub in a beautiful location. Lots of great walks (including to Mitchell's Stone Circle) close by.
Dog friendly. Fair prices for food and drink. Would recommend the Ploughman's, its banging!

6 Bishops Castle St, MontgomeryPopped in for a pint after a tough 29km on The Offas Dyke hike from Knighton. I needed to get to my B+B accommodation in nearby Chirbury.No luck getting a Taxi but the landlord and landlady found a local chap who kindly gave me a lift.Just wanted to say many thanks to all concerned for helping a stranger in need...good karma to you all!Highly recommend you swing by for a pint or 3 of the great beer they serve!Thanks again!!Steve

Mellington Hall Country House Hotel
Mellington, MontgomeryMy partner and I stayed two nights for Valentine's weekend and couldn't be more delighted with our visit.
The room was spacious yet cosy, with lovely decor, and the bathroom was spotless. The staff were fantastic and welcoming from the outset of our stay. In particular Karen was very friendly and attentive, and added a personal touch to the experience.
We would definitely return for another visit to take advantage of the hotel and the beautiful scenery.

The Nags Head Inn
Garthmyl, MontgomeryWe came for an early lunch today and absolutely loved it. For a grey, cold February afternoon, the pub was moderately busy but not overcrowded- which is always a great sign. My partner and I both had the prawn toast to start which was absolutely phenomenal; an exceptional portion of big, juicy prawns and the Asian-style jus was fantastic. Our mains were also great and the onion rings were incredible. We shared the banoffee cheesecake for pudding which was also a very generous portion. The staff were very friendly and attentive, particularly the young brunette woman who seated us- she was a joy. The service was so quick and we had such an enjoyable time. Unfortunately, we were on a mini-break in Wales, however if The Nags Head was more local, we would definitely be regulars! Incredible work from all the team and always a pleasure to support independent pubs like this, especially when it feels so brilliant value for money!

The Dragon Hotel
Market Square, MontgomeryWhat an absolute gem of a hotel.
We stayed for 2 nights. The staff were friendly and helpful.
The room was comfortable and clean. With it being an old building it had some definite quirks but was lovely.
The food was gorgeous with a very clear menu which showed which meals were gluten or dairy free. This made life so much easier as I have lactose intolerance.
Nothing was a bother and the surrounding area is just stunning.

Church Bank, MontgomeryLovely cafe with homemade food. A lovely lady runs the cafe and the post office. Hats off to her for managing multiple customers. Good portion of food and all freshly prepared. Definitely a must visit cafe.

Broad St, MontgomeryGreat little F&C shop. Owner is Turkish I believe and very friendly. We had three Cod and Chips. All freshly cooked, nice size portions, not expensive. Lovely location, nice eating on the benches outside. Took a load of chips home for later!
