7 High St, PresteigneEating out can be a bit hit and miss with so many places serving mediocre food. I’m glad to say Crocketts is not one of those places… the combination of flavours, colours and textures was superb. Chef (Ross?) has obviously thought hard about his menu and the dishes reflect his attention to excellence. It was so good I had desert too. Green tea pan cotta with coconut sorbet and an apricot coulis. Amazing. Thank you Crocketts, a meal much enjoyed.

Lorna's Sandwich Shop
48 High St, PresteigneMy partner and I have been holidaying in the local area and we decided to pop into Lorna's based on the great reviews. Well, we ended up visiting throughout our visit, picking up a lovely lunch each day to sustain us during long walks!!
The sandwiches and rolls are excellent value for money, being very generously filled. The quiches, tarts and pastries were smashing and the cakes and sweet treats were delicious. The chocolate chip shortbread is particularly morish and took me back to my childhood and the shortbread my mum used to make for me.
The staff members were lovely and friendly and I can see why there are so many regulars (I certainly would be one if I lived in the area!!!).

The Dukes Arms
3-5 Broad St, PresteigneMy favourite pub in Presteigne. A proper pub. All of the staff are really friendly and will have a chat with me if it's quiet. Great atmosphere on a busy night. I've had a lot of great nights there

Red Lion Country Inn B&B & restaurant, self catering
The Red Lion Country Inn. Co. Uk, Llanfihangel-nant-Melan, New Radnor, PresteigneStopped in on the way to Wales - beautiful garden, delicious chips and lovely friendly owners. Now so pleased the road was closed and we couldn't access the local services - this is much better.

Daphne’s
53 High St, PresteigneAbsolutely loved it. Got into our cottage a few towns over and we were struggling to get find a place to eat. Our Airbnb host called up Daphne’s and they took us in with open arms. From Italy to California… the Champs special was undoubtably one of the BEST pizza’s I’ve ever had. The entire experience was phenomenal, from the beautiful town to this cozy pub. Thank you for sharing your kindness and superb pizzas. (We had to take 2 to go…)

The Coffee House
51 High St, PresteigneGreat coffee, friendly service. Without any request from us, purely overhearing our daughter say she wants to clean her hands, they offered use of the staff toilet for her to do so.

High St, PresteigneVisited on wheelbarrow race/ carnival weekend, when finishing line and winner announcement takes place outside here. Didn’t have any food but drinks were great. Nice atmosphere. Menu looked tasty.

The Royal George
Lingen, BucknellThe George is the closest pub to my family home, and we travel up regularly from London to visit. The pub’s reinvention under the guidance of Nadine and Aarek has been exceptional. We eat here almost every time we come up and always bring friends. I am not much of a review writer, but The George is a wonderful addition to the village and deserves recognition as a destination for fine food as well as a friendly local pub.

Wild Thyme Italian
10 High St, PresteigneVery nice meal here this evening with a couple of friends. The pasta dishes were very good, obviously homemade. A very nice wine list as well. The Valpolicella Ripasso was very enjoyable as it was more on the dry side rather than medium which is what we prefer. We will definitely return.
