Woodcock Hill, Felbridge, East GrinsteadIt truly was a great experience. We arrived for an unplanned visit, with twelve of us there and they accommodated us right away. We opted for the lunchtime menu, which at about £20.95 each I thought was a bit steep, until I realised that that included a poppadom, a starter, a main meal with rice or naan, at which point it felt like good value for money. \n\nI sampled quite a few of my families meals and found them all to be very tasty. They mostly had a rich sauce with them and none of them burned too much.\n\nIt certainly felt like a family business. Everyone was very courteous and helpful. They recognised that we had come after visiting the LDS temple up the road and said that they loved getting visits from our members\n\nGreat food, great company, great service

The Old Dunnings Mill
Dunning's Rd, East GrinsteadLisa and her team put on a fantastic fundraising charity dinner and raffle for the local Rotary club . We raised over £1200 for the Cut Out Cancer charity. There were about 70 diners and the waitressing staff worked tirelessly to ensure that everyone had a good time. The food was excellent with huge portions. The pub was very generous in their donation to the charity.

We started with a delicious mezze trio, and for mains, the grilled sea bass and lamb kofta were both fantastic. The staff were friendly and attentive, making the whole experience enjoyable. The passion fruit white chocolate parfait for dessert was the perfect finish and when we found out it was made from scratch we was very impressed. Highly recommend this spot I believe it to be the best in East Grinsted.Dietary restrictions: Clear on the menu

The food was excellent – fresh, full of flavour, and beautifully presented. I had veg moussaka, and it was cooked perfectly. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience even better. Prices were fair for the quality, and it felt like great value. A lovely spot for dinner, whether for a casual evening or a special occasion. I’ll definitely be coming back and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

I booked for my best friend's birthday - afternoon tea and it was Devine the best I had and I love my tea and cake! 45 Holtye Ave, East GrinsteadAbsolutely superb costumer welcome, they asked what we were celebrating and I told them an 82nd birthday and my daughter passing her driving theory, they were so happy for my daughter, they gave her a sausage and bottle of Fanta to celebrate. The portions were generous, and fish and chips were proper traditional and tasty. Best chips I’ve had in a long time. Definitely my favourite place in EG for fish n chips!

Great selection of food/drinks, super friendly staff and a great atmosphere.. what more do you want or need from a pub.

Chequer Mead Theatre, De La Warr Rd, East GrinsteadIt has been great up until a few weeks ago when they started taking lots of orders for coffee from people and then not serving at table. They shout out the order (not your name), but the restaurant is large and if you are sitting at the back,, you don't hear the call. someone else comes along and takes your coffee! Complete chaos!

Mezzanine Floor, Atrium King Street, East GrinsteadA great location in East Grinstead. A good amount of seating with numerous TV's showing sport. Some pool tables here too. Both the female staff were friendly and helpful choosing food and seating area. The food arrived in good time, was hot, tasted good, presented well and excellent quality. With so many restaurants in the area, you certainly can't go wrong here. It's perfectly located with the cinema only two floors above it too. Ideal for a bite to eat before or after a cinema showing. I'm in East Grinstead every week and will definitely call here again. Highly recommend.

51-53 High St, East GrinsteadTook Mum here for the first time having been with friends and partner in the past. We went on a Tuesday evening and had the set buffet menu. Mum is a die hard chicken korma only diner but I persuaded her to have the mango dish which she loved as creamy and mild and flavoursome and will have again. Staff Kaled and Hossain (apologies if I have misspelt the names) couldn't do enough for us and were attentive without being intrusive. Best onion bhajis I have ever had. 5* all round and we'll be back to try the other mango dish!

194 London Rd, East GrinsteadWe had a large family event. The food was exceptional. The chicken actualy had texture and grains. The butternut squash vegeterian dish was amazing and many dishes could be prepared with plant based meat, meaning our many vegan/vegeterian relatives could have the exact same dish as the meateaters. The chicken tikka was also exceptional as were the samosas.

Free Wifi and a relaxed, chilled vibe that is very conducive to a productive work session. It's become my weekly go-to place to work. Sweet little outside area at the back - fresh air and surrounded by pretty hanging baskets, but a covered roof so can still see my laptop screen. Coffee is delicious - apparently the owner is a coffee snob and it's clear he takes making an excellent cup of coffee very seriously! Gorgeous cakes and pastries, lovely fresh, interesting salads - and sandwiches and sausage rolls that are next-level delicious - it's always a tough call between Ross' sausage rolls and the homemade vegan sausage rolls. Staff are all really friendly and helpful and I love that the special needs adults that Pericles supports are involved in the cooking and making all the bits and pieces that adorn the cafe. Such a gem of a place. Highly recommend.

The landlord is delightful, a very friendly and helpful chap, makes you feel really welcome - has a nice choice of ales. Highly recommend, if you find yourself in East Grinstead for any reason!

35 High St, East GrinsteadI was part of a band that played at The Crown - the landlord was incredibly welcoming to us and gave a loads of space to set up in (and we did get quite a few dancing!). The space is great, awesome staff and the TVs huge and great for sports events. I didn't get to try the food but I heard such good things about it I'll come back sometime soon and try it out!

112 London Rd, East GrinsteadThe Railway Pub in East Grinstead has seriously stepped up its game, thanks to a new chef who’s completely turned the place around. If you haven’t been in a while, it’s time to give it another go—because the food is next level.
First off, the Buffalo Chicken Burger is a beast. Crispy, juicy chicken absolutely drenched in buffalo sauce, with just the right mix of spice and tang. Add in a toasted brioche bun, fresh toppings, and a killer blue cheese dressing, and you’ve got yourself a proper burger that hits the spot every time.
Then there’s the Sticky Toffee Pudding—easily one of the best I’ve had. Soft, rich sponge cake soaked in warm toffee sauce, with a scoop of creamy vanilla ice cream melting into it. Pure dessert heaven.
With the new chef in charge, the whole menu has had a serious glow-up. Whether you’re after a proper meal or just some top-tier pub food, The Railway Pub is smashing it right now. Highly recommend checking it out!
