Really really accommodating and welcoming. Accepted our walk in on a Sunday, staff couldn’t do enough for us. Just let down by ordering the vegan option, stating specifically vegan and it came with sausages wrapped in bacon, they took it back but didn’t fill me with confidence. Also had Yorkshire puddings on which were definitely not vegan, makes me question that the carrots weren’t honey roasted? I know it’s a dietary lifestyle choice than a serious allergen but most people would have no accepted this and made more of a point about it..

We have been regularly ordering from Akash for 5 years and love and recommend them to everyone. We always have fresh, hot and delicious food from them. They have a very large menu selection, and we always enjoy whatever we get. As a vegetarian, I love the saag paneer. My meat eating partner orders all over the menu and has loved everything. They have very generous portions too, so we find it great value for money as we always have leftovers. Whether we collect, or ask them to deliver, they are always so kind, friendly and attentive. Their estimated wait or delivery times are always accurate. Also, one time, they forgot to put our poppadoms in our order, which is rare for them, as we typically order one, and they are always so generous to add in extras. When we let them know, they were very apologetic (it's only popadoms, not an issue at all). The next time we ordered (which was many weeks later) they remembered us by name and made a point to gave us extra, which we felt was so generous and thoughtful. They are just great. We will always order and support Akash!

Offered a meal deal for first time but turned out it didn’t include a rice or a bread or at least that was what the bill said ?‍♀️
Also charged £1 for a foil dish for taking the left overs home … I get it’s not much however never been charged for this here before or in any Indian restaurant we’ve been too ?‍???‍♀️
The icing on the cake was the waiter demanding a tip when we paid the bill which I feel is totally unacceptable
( was intending to leave one but generally I do that as cash not with the card payment but I do object to being asked for it ?)
Really feel the manager who is a great chap should address this with his staff
Will give this restaurant another chance as the food is good but if this happens again it will be our last visit

Went mid week with friends; by 10pm they had their coats on staring at us to urge us to give up and go home. We just came back from the all you can eat curry night that was advertised. It was a lovely evening, attentive and professional staff who spent the time to say hi to our son and have a general chit chat. Nothing was too much when we requested hot water to heat up our son’s pouch, which we were very grateful of! The buffet was a fair price and was lovely, a good range of food on offer, the mint chutney was zingy and made your mouth water. All the curries the meat was tender and everything freshly made and full of flavour. Definitely a not so hidden gem off the A38 and well worth trying out if you are ever in the area.

Stayed here as we were meeting friends from Plymouth and the White Hart was mid way for both of us. Took advantage of their special offer where the 2nd night was free. Our room was very nice but a fault developed with the toilet during the night, so we were moved the next day. The staff could not have been any more helpful or friendly. The rooms were very nice and comfortable. We ate breakfast and evening meals both days in the pub and it was very pleasant. Good value and very tasty food. A very pretty and quaint pub in a pleasant little part of the world. We all agreed to return in the summer when we will be able to sit and enjoy our drinks outside by the river in the sun (hopefully!)

I popped in to the Garden on the off chance as I didn’t fancy cooking and it was definitely the right decision. The service was great, the food delicious - I had the garden burger which was cooked perfectly, but I saw the pork belly that someone else had ordered and it looked amazing. It had a warm, friendly and comfortable atmosphere and I would definitely dine there again. 5 stars all round.

We had Dinner here on Thursday 24th April, during a short break in Chippenham.\n\nA check of reviews on TA and Google had been inconclusive, as none were remotely recent, which we found a bit curious. However, we decided to give it the benefit of the doubt and went without a booking.\n\nWe were warmly greeted by a very pleasant gentleman and shown to a table. \n\nWe had already seen that it was BYOB, and glasses were quickly provided for our drinks. We did purchase sparkling water for the table, and it was also nice to see that soft drinks were very reasonably priced.\n\nWe both enjoyed our starters and mains, and portion sizes were generous.\n\nWe weren’t rushed, both the price and service was good, and the gentleman who was front of house, (maybe the manager?) was very polite and nice to chat with.\n\nWe had absolutely no complaints and would happily visit again if in the area.

Working away for next 3 weeks thought I'd treat myself to my favourite curry before I come home and it didn't disappoint. Normally wary of new places but it on my route home daily. Lamb naga and pilau rice cost just over £13 as its 20% discount on collection. Value for money lots of flavour plenty of meat even thrown my a poppadom and a sauce in. Will definitely be returning when back next week , quite possibly the best curry I've had. 10/10 from me and a must try. The guy serving was very polite and talkative makes you feel welcome upon entering.

He's superb!I don't have much expectation of great customer service at UK service stations (but please note, they can seem like the Ritz compared to some in the USA!) but this chap has been wonderful every time I have stopped at Leigh Delamere... so today I asked him his name as I knew that Google Maps would ask me for a review.His name is Jay - so can Jay's boss, please make sure that Jay is recognised/rewarded for his great customer service.The coffee and sandwich were ok too...Parking: the disabled spaces are usually not too full of non-disabled drivers...

Really nice rural pub and restaurant.
My booking had been rejected by their system as the taking of £0 to pre engage my card for the 'cover charge' in case I didn't turn up, was refused by my bank...despite them saying it went through at the time.
Despite this the staff were super helpful and understanding, found us a table and we're happy to honour the 'auto cancelled' booking.
Food was underwhelming. It was OK and obviously made on the premises. My meal sounded exciting but ended up being a bit plain and my fellow diners risotto was nice enough but topped with pine nuts that tasted old and well past their best.
Selection of drinks was very good. And both the regulars and the open fire were warm and welcoming.

One note of warning. If you highlight the address from their own website and then select Google maps and directions it doesn't take you to the pub but somewhere very rural about 10 miles away and 20 mins drive. This glitch made me embarrassingly late and left my fellow diner waiting for me.
After returning home I tried the same thing again and ended up with the same result. MAKE SURE YOU ENTER THE ADDRESS INTO YOUR SAT NAV MANUALLY. Learn from my mistake, don't make your own.

Forget about London fine dining just travel here instead. Best steak in the UK. And definitely try the duck. Or anything from the desert menu.

Booked this hotel to visit Lacock Abbey, it wasn't the cheapest hotel, but it was fairly easy to find, and nice and central for the town. Hotel - It is a stunning hotel visually, spread over several sections, a good sized bar and restaurant and a lovely outside area to sit and have a drink in the nice weather, Lots of parking. Rooms - The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean, we had a twin room as I was there with my daughter, comfortable beds and good sized bathroom, lovely big TV. Staff - Staff were friendly, but seemed a little rushed, general chat wasn't on the cards, but I like chatty staff. That changed in the morning the young man on breakfast was amazing, helpful and chatty. Food - We only had breakfast, but it was beautiful, well cooked a nice choice and hot. Why only 4 stars? Well, it is a bug bear of mine that certain chains are restricting our choice, both Best Western and Mecure are both at it. The bar does not serve normal Coke, only sugar free, and at breakfast only skimmed milk was available, I understand that they are maybe trying to be healthy, but surely it is out choice, and I don't mind paying a bit more for a glass of proper coke. I think sometimes, these hotels forget, without us they are just buildings.

New to reviews, so I apologise if anything is missed!, This cafe I just had to give it a review on how well their service was! I’ve never had such kind attitude in this area before!, I was served by a young coloured kiddie and he was such the sweetest, he took time to listen to my accent instead of getting rude over it! He greeted me in such a lovely manner great big smile on his face with such a kind greeting, amazing cappuccino he gave me aswell! I forgot to get sugar and he even offered to grab it for me! This is what customer service should be like and Its made a great impression on me, My food was out within 10 minutes?! I was expecting 15-20, amazing bacon butty I rate it 10/10 the woman who gave me the bap was just as lovely! I will be coming here again whenever I’m in Wiltshire for sure, beautiful staff and beautiful atmosphere!

Visited the packhorse to meet a mate on a Friday after work.

Pub was busy. Lots of happy people just enjoying the place. Log burner, dogs, pool, Guinness, snacks, great staff. Felt like a large, communal front room. People there for a birthday party all in fancy dress and singing. It was good.

4 stars only because the entrance is freezing cold and teeming with mould. That said, a lemon-scented marble entrance hall wouldn't fit at all.

Glad I went and would definitely go back.

Chippenham Kebab & Pizza

We often order from Chippenham Kebab and Pizza House so this review will be indicative of the last time that we ordered which was in October 2023. We ordered from their website which is east to navigate and simply categorizes the types of food on offer. While the menu is not extensive, there is still plenty to choose from in the way of kebabs, pizzas, burgers and chips. I went for the chicken wrap and cheesy chips this time and my wife decided to go for a make-your-own pizza and hot wings. Recently, they have taken the fried chicken option off their menu. Last time we had it the chicken wasn't that great so it may be because of a supply issue or one of cost. Anyway my wife went for the hot wings instead to give them a go. The chicken wrap is always delicious and is like nicely-spiced chicken breast tenders in a tortilla wrap. It may be too salty for some people's taste but not for mine. The cheesy chips are always great and they manage to get the melt just right while keeping some semblance of crispiness on the majority of the chips. My wife's pizza was tasty, cheesy and generously populated with toppings. And the hot wings were delicious. The outer coating was terrific and crispy and moreish. The chicken on the inside was really tasty and they are much better than wings we have had from other places. They are not that hot, which was fine for us, but if you're looking for something with a bit more heat you might have to either add some hot sauce or look elsewhere. The delivery time was as quick as ever. It arrived in under half an hour. This is mainly the case with Chippenham Kebab and Pizza House unless there is a sports tournament or something like that where they may be busy. It's certainly quicker than waiting for a driver from somewhere like KFC. All in all, another enjoyable meal and we will be eating from here again.

Have been ordering for delivery regularly from here for nearly 5 years now. The burgers are absolutely delicious, and always part of our usual order now. We recently tried their garlic bread and pizzas which are great too. They used to do amazing Turkish pizza called Lahmacun but they've stopped doing that now, sadly - please do this again! Not a fan of their kebabs but I'm not a fan of them anywhere really. The chicken, onion rings, rice, and houmous are all also very nice

We were served yesterday by Joe in chippenham subway and it was the best customer service I think I’ve ever had.

Joe was by himself but somehow managed to build a rapport with every customer that came in. He created a really nice atmosphere and seemingly had regulars because of it. He also managed to upsell us and pretty much everyone who he served after us, in a very natural way “have you tried this cookie? Do you want to double up on meat?” Etc
He also offered to change gloves to make the vegetarian order for another customer, not seen that before at a subway.

Couldn’t rate Joe highly enough, we talked about him all day! We will strive in life to be more like Joe
