Lakes Aquarium
Lakeside, Newby Bridge, UlverstonReally liked visiting here. Set on the shores of Lake Windermere, there are many different animals to see at the aquarium. Everything from otters to fish, snakes, mice and all manner of other animals.
The aquarium is laid out well and allows you to get up close and see the little beasties. My personal favourite was the otters. They look like a little friendly pack. On the day we visited there were not many other visitors so we were lucky enough to be able to watch them for a while.
The only negative if you can call it that is that the car park is pay and display. To be honest, it isn't really a worry.
All round a nice facility with a great selection of animals.

Oscar's Cafe
1st Floor of the Station Building, LakesideWe stopped off here for a bite to eat after having visited the Lakes Aquarium. A nice little Cafe with a gift shop and lovely views of Lake Windermere where you can easily see the cruise boats coming in and out and the stream engine/train coming into the station. If you have a dog with you it's also a dog friendly place. Speaking of dogs we had hotdogs for lunch. Plenty of parking outside. The only reason there was not 5 stars was due to the place having quite a number of flies which was a bit off putting whe trying to keep them off your food.
