1 King Edward St, AshbourneCan I just say a huge thank you to the little shed Ashbourne staff. On Monday we came to celebrate a birthday with lunch. Table was reserved with a little happy birthday sign, staff sang happy birthday with a candle. Food was delicious, drinks were lovely, apparently Kinder Bueno milkshake is awesome. It is and remains one of our favourite cafes. Thank you.

Church Ln, South Wingfield, AlfretonFriendly staff and beautiful pub/restaurant. Went here after being disappointed at Pesto at the Peacock. Amazing dessert! I had the toffee banana pudding it was delicious. My uncle had the cheesecake which was also to die for. My aunt had the salted caramel creme brûlée, only criticism is that it was a little bit too salty. Coffees were also delicious, can’t wait to try the mains next time! Thank you!

The taster menu, usually up to 12 dishes, are just fantastic, well executed and presented, each dish is described by the host and I would recommend the wine flight which pairs to you meal again described by the host.
The staff don’t just put your plate or glass down it’s served with passion.
No walk ins, it’s a booking only system

Carsington Water Visitor Centre, AshbourneAlways Outstanding. Not only is the food always outstanding, but the service is also friendly and professional. The value for money just can not be beaten for the quality of products, not even adding in the spectacular view across Carsington. Highly recommend the daily roast dinner, early bird breakfast (just £10 inc. drink!) and the afternoon teas. Oh plus all the cakes which are delicious. Also fab how you can add on a walk to meal/drink out.

Long Ln, Longlane, AshbourneWe booked late on Thursday afternoon but managed to get a table in the main restaurant, upon arrival we had a drink outside as we were early and when we were seated little did we realise the food we’d be eating was the best ever! Having ordered our food a small curried cauliflower entree was bought out which was beautiful and really tasty, this was followed by a slice of sourdough served with a home made flavoured butter again it was lovely and fresh, the out starters arrived, I had beetroot with whipped blue cheese and my wife had salmon both were delicious sorry no pics, for mains I had the past and my wife had the chicken with tagliatelle again both fishers were faultless, this place is quite simply stunning ! A must visit

33-35 Dig St, AshbourneHad a walk through Ashbourne and came across The Bridge which is part of the Marstons company. We had dinner here and the service was very good. The tables were all clean and as it was a Monday it wasn't very busy.We had two mains of the burger with cheese and bacon, this came quickly and was very tasty and was a job to finish it all. Home made coleslaw, onion rings and chips. Everything about it was great and would definitely recommend it if you're feeling hungry.We also had the mince and onion pie again this was of the same size portion. The pie was served on a big bed of mashed potato and a generous portion of green peas. Also had a large gravy boat if you wanted to add this. The pastry was very tasty and buttery and not dry like some other places. Again a good size portion. We wanted dessert but after these we had to admit defeat and go without. Maybe next time we'll have room.

From the moment we got in touch, their professionalism and warmth stood out. They were incredibly understanding of our needs, working closely with us to tailor everything around our budget and timings, without ever compromising on the quality. Their advice and guidance were so appreciated - helping us shape the perfect evening setup with options that suited all of our guests. It truly felt like they were invested in making our day special, and that care shone through in every interaction.
And the food… just wow. It was utterly delicious and bursting with flavour. Our guests couldn’t stop raving about it (many going back for seconds and thirds!), and we were over the moon to have leftovers the next morning, which made for the best post wedding-day breakfast.
Everything ran so smoothly, and it honestly took a weight off our shoulders knowing we were in such capable hands. If you’re thinking of booking them for your event - do it. You won’t regret it.

The Okeover Arms
Yerley Hill, Mapleton, AshbourneStayed on the car park in our motorhome. Rang ahead to see if it was ok and booked a table in the restaurant for the same evening.
Food was great, a good selection of real ales at the bar and very dog friendly.
The girls that served us at night were lovely and we had a nice with the owner at breakfast.
Good dog walks nearby and Dovedale is only a 5 minute drive away.
We will stay again, thank you.

Blue Bell Inn
Station Rd, North Wingfield, ChesterfieldWell this is a lovely old pub, the staff and management or so lovely. They have a choice of 3 beers on at a time as well as your larger and ciders too. The food is also good and change there menu between summer and winter. I would recommend the steak pie it's gorgeous.
They is two beer gardens and a big car park.

Our youngest is a restrictive eater but the staff separated every item of food to ensure she could happily eat everything. Little touches like this make it much easier for us as a family to eat out.
The food was also fantastic and I would recommend that everyone comes here for a meal. Thanks to all the staff for their help.

He was very polite, helpful, cheerful. One of the ladies helped my partner carry his chair. Everything was so well organised & explained. The night was faultless, food excellent & service fantastic. What a fabulous place. A LOT of thought, attention to detail has gone into this place. If you're reading this thinking about visiting, book it & go you won't be disappointed. We are all still telling friends about how great it was. Well done to all involved.

The Cornerstone Coffee House
Church St, AshbourneVery lovely cafeteria with sweet and savoury options. Had the lamb kofta flatbread for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with how much flavour it had. We had to wait 15 min but to be served but it was worth it. Shout out to their tap water being served with pomegranate, something I had never seen before.
The ambiance is cosy and relaxed, and very welcoming. Recommended.

Main St, Hognaston, Ashbourne8 of us stayed in a beautiful holiday cottage just down the road and booked a table for Saturday night. It wasn't a particularly busy evening but a few tables were occupied.
We had various starters, delicious mains - suet pudding, lamb, pork and wild mushroom gateaux, followed by some amazing puddings. We all agreed that it was easily one of the best pub meals we have eaten (& between us all we have eaten a lot!!) All the staff were lovely and we all really enjoyed the evening - if you are ever in the area then go, you won't be disappointed ?
