RHS Garden Rosemoor, TorringtonWalked round Rosemoor with our dog Toby on a short lead and it was a brilliant day out. A few other dogs were there and all well behaved. I hope this trial is made permanent. Would recommend.

Yarde Orchard Cafe & Accommodation
East Yarde, Peters Marland, TorringtonWhat a great spot. Stayed Saturday night. Arrived after a 3 hrs cycle with mix of adults and kids. Had lovely beer and Sam's cider in the garden. Accommodation is a bunk house but is very clean and comfy and great value for money. Netflix and loads of board games. We had dinner which we pre ordered that was lovely. The owners made lovely meat and veggie lasagne. Really nice people. Would highly recommend.

The Old Farmhouse Kitchen and Tearoom
East Dodscott Farm, TorringtonMy sister and I took a friend there for her birthday. We had a traditional tea. Oh boy it was so good and so much delicious food, fabulous homecooked soup, sausage rolls, cakes, chocolate and scones, prawn cocktail, fabulous sandwiches. We will be back.

Castle Hill, South St, Great Torrington, TorringtonPopped in for a quick lunch. Exceptional service, friendly and efficient. It's a delight to be welcomed into a cafe with so much warmth. Lovely location (we sat in the garden) and I really enjoyed my carribean toasted sandwich.

The Green Lantern Cafe
4-6 High St, Great Torrington, TorringtonWent there for a bite to eat, seemed to be the only place open in the town on that day ( Monday ) They are dog friendly which is a added bonus. Menus were exstensive which was a suprise. We had cakes and scones. Only issue i had was my scone disintegrate when i tried to cut them in half. Lots of butter cream and jam thou. Service was great.

Portions were adequate (neither of us could mange to finish all, but then we're not big eaters) and all food was too hot to touch. People who are used to large meals might be disappointed but for us they were perfect. We enjoyed our meal and felt the pricing was right. We will eat there again.

Whilst their menu is pretty limited for those who need gluten free (like my wife), they are knowledgeable about their ingredients and are happy to cater for us. The gluten free ribs, made with a sweet & sour sauce, are just as good as the BBQ ribs. Several other good dishes are available too. \n\nOrders are usually ready pretty quickly and by the promised tine. Prices are decent, the only slight downside is it's cash only, but not a biggie if you're expecting it.
