The food was out of this world and priced very well. It is really nice to be able to keep ordering as the mood takes you keeping it really relaxed and friendly.
The cocktails were proper drinks made to order and didnt just taste like fruit juice with a shot in it.

IlfracombeGreat place for a family meal. 9 of us, including 7 adults, 2 infants plus 2 dogs, turned up without a booking at 5pm on a Sunday. Tiffany was incredibly helpful in accommodating us, helping us all settle and keeping us well looked after. The array of food ordered was all excellent and well priced. Highly recommended.

Tandoori Night
13-14, High St, IlfracombeWhile staying in Illfracombe, we visited tandori nights indian restaurant. I can honestly say it was one of the best Indian meals I have had. If there is anyone out there looking for a decent Indian, I can recommend you try this one. You won't be dissappointed.
I believe they also do take aways.

Day 1. The starter was a child's burger and chips (9 out of 10) followed by rump steak and chips (7) a little tough due to being overcooked.
Day 2. Child's scampi and chips (8) followed by fish and chips (9)
Day 3. Garlic Prawns (8) followed by Spaghetti bolognese (9)

Spice lounge Indian cuisine
36 Greenclose Rd, IlfracombeMy partner and I stay near Ilfracombe a few times a year and we can’t believe we’ve never tried this restaurant, particularly because of our love for Indian food. The service was fantastic from all of the staff, but Ahmed in particular was really personable and helpful. The food was amazing, from the poppadoms to the prawn puri and onion Bhaji starters. We had a curry each - lamb tikka passanda and lamb tikka madras, a cheese and garlic naan and a peshwari naan, keema rice and chips. With the generous portion sizes meaning we couldn’t finish it, Ahmed kindly gave us containers to take it away in. All of the food was hot and super tasty with everything having different flavours (which you don’t find with some Indian restaurants), and with a number of nice cold beers each we were very pleasantly surprised at the bill! Thank you guys for a great meal, we will definitely be returning whether it’s to eat in or take away!

We'd booked a table in this dog friendly pub. We enjoyed really nice food served by some very cheery & friendly staff. A lovely pub in a perfect location.

7 The Quay, IlfracombeI came here with my brother's family. We enjoyed our fish and chips so much that we came back the next night and ordered fish and chips again. My nephew also ordered a cheeseburger and thoroughly enjoyed it, as he loves cheeseburgers. The waitress, a lovely lady, was very friendly and helpful.

I got the haddock fish and chips and it was so nice! Crispy batter and juicy fish.
The chips super nice too.
Fishcake very nice too.
All the ladies working here are lovely and friendly.
I dont understand people complaining about the price (my F&C was 13.50) when now all chippy sell it for not less of 16£, so for me the price is very fair too.
Nothing to complain at all.

144 High St, IlfracombeWhen visiting the area we sadly found no takeaways open in the town at all after 9.30 pm but then we found munchies. What a life saver we were hungry and went in. We all chose different food and waited for it to be ready. We only had to wait around 20 minutes which is good as we had not pre ordered. The only negative I found we the girl who was taking our order went and stood by the door vaping while our food was cooking by others out the back. When the girl came back to the front desk she never washed her hands and then handed us our food order. I was expecting the food to be ok average and nothing to shout about but I was wrong. I throughly enjoyed my meal and everyone else liked there’s. Thank you for being open and an enjoyable meal.

Searock Apartments, Wilder Rd, IlfracombeWe booked this lovely place to celebrate my son’s newly married wife’s birthday the day after the wedding. We were a party of 17 and were asked when making the reservation to pre-order a few days in advance. The meals all arrived at the same time and exactly how we had pre-ordered. The food was delicious, and we had a variety of meals between us and everyone agreed how good the food was. The staff were very friendly and gathered at our table to sing Happy Birthday to the new bride. Thank you Giovanni and Donatello and the rest of the staff for a great evening.

The Capstone restaurant
17 St James Pl, IlfracombeLovely shady place to stop for a coffee , sandwich or afternoon tea. Service at a lovely and relaxed. There’s space to relax unlike a lot of the places down by the harbour. Highly recommend. Serving Costa coffee and a lovely cream tea and you can even have Costa coffee with your scone. Perfect !?? They also have a kids menu , out youngest had fish fingers and chips so there’s something for everyone.

Understanding of allergies - I had the gluten free BBQ burger and fries and it was delicious! Gluten free bun was a good texture and didn't get soggy or fall apart. The burger itself was super juicy and tasted great. Would definitely reccomend.

Hillsborough Rd, IlfracombeWe booked for Father's Day and were very pleased to find that during the summer they do "Seafood Sundays". \n\nWe shared the pepper and salt squid starter which was beautifully cooked and came with a nice ailoi. Then we both had the half lobster which came with a generous portion of chips and a salad or vegetable. It was terrific - very fresh and again cooked really well - and they very kindly agreed to give us a 'doggy bag' so that we could take the shell home to make stock. \n\nThe staff were very friendly and helpful and it's a lovely small, old pub, which serves real ale and cider.

My husband and I visited Ilfracombe for our 1 year anniversary and a few weeks before, I caught wind of this place and was lucky enough to get a table for 2 on a Saturday evening. My husband is vegetarian and I am a picky pescatarian and there was plenty on the menu for both of us. The food was really delicious, home cooked but prepared and served with professional style. We absolutely loved the aesthetic of the restaurant, it's intimate and beautifully put together. It was the best table service I believe I've ever had and we even had a chat with Carol the owner/chef about Sheffield, which she knew well. Whilst I understand they are now booked up until Christmas, if you ever get the chance to go, we would highly recommend it. What. A. Find.
Vegetarian options: I finished with the fruit cake and cheese. Oh my god so good.

Castle St, Combe Martin, IlfracombeMy wife and I called in for Dinner my first impression was that it was very quiet, however the locals and the staff were very friendly and quite happy to chat. We decided to try the steak I had a ribeye and she who shall be obeyed had the sirloin. The chief a South African chap came out and had a chat he took our order and he could not have done it better the food was excellent made fresh to order. If you are in Combe Martin don't be put off with the negative ninny reviews, or that its a bit shabby sheik its a nice place and you should try it I will definitely be back next time I am in Combe Martin.

Wilder Rd, IlfracombeFood was great, me and my brother loved the sweet and sour chicken and the beef in black bean sauce I think it was, bad reviews are misleading, waitress was kind and was quick to bring our drinks and take our drink order. The roof is not “mouldy” or “falling down” it’s merely just water leaks. It’s quite a pleasant atmosphere, fresh food comes out every few minutes and okay selection, there’s ice cream and cake and stuff for after! It’s a nice place and I totally recommend, we did not get sick or get salmonella like it said in one review. It was overall pretty good and enjoyed it! Would go again, and no you don’t pay £37 for a drink. Bad reviews outrageously incorrect. Recommend the chips and beef! And sweet and sour chicken!

The Castle Inn, Pub and Beer Garden
High St, Combe Martin, IlfracombeBig pub, lots of space, lovely beer garden, Friendly service, friendly locals. We were planning to eat at pack o’cards down the road, but their chef didn’t start until 5.30pm and we were starving so we called the castle inn, asked if they did food, they didn’t but advised we could bring take out food in, so we got a pizza, ate it in the beer garden and got some drinks, no drama. Would happily return for drinks and the traditional pub atmosphere

The set menu is reasonably short but with sufficient choice for most and probably why every choice is excellent. Often a couple of seasonal 'specials'.
