Ate with a friend in Salt last night. It was her first visit to Salt but I have been a quite a few times before. Really nice chilled vibe still, the staff were really friendly and helpful as my friend couldn’t decide what to choose from the menu! They also returned to our table several times while we were there to ask if we needed anything else.
The food was delicious as always!!! We had the two time burger, cheesy garlic fries, quesadillas and burger fries. ( A couple of cocktails also which were good too!) My friend loved it and we will both be returning soon! Thanks guys!

Visited Meze last week after an evening matinee performance at the Darlington Hippodrome a few doors down. I have to say we had a great experience. The food was excellent. My wife and I shared hummus and bread to start, a large portion of very good hummus and good Turkish bread, For main I had Izmir kofte, a large portion of very tasty kofte, nicely presented with a large salad, red cabbage, rice and fried potatoes. My wife had Chicken supreme which was also very tasty and served with the same sides. We were too full to have dessert. With an Efes and a glass of red wine the bill was £42. Great value, Good, attentive service also helped us enjoy the evening. We also had a nice chat with the Cem the owner and chef. We hope to return soon.

We had a lovely meal here tonight. We rang ahead and booked a table as it was a 20 min drive from home. We were greeted warmly, and seated straight away. We had cod and chips, battered sausage and chips and haggis and chips. All the food was delicious and freshly cooked. The fish was perfect, with lovely light batter, and the chips were tasty. We were impressed at how fresh the food was. We all had a dessert too, as we were feeling frivolous - sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fondant and cheesecake. All served with a choice of Archer's ice cream or custard. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The restaurant is bright, well decorated, and very welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit and the recent award is well justified. There is a small car park too, we were lucky to find a spot! We will definitely return.

An Unforgettable Culinary Masterpiece in Darlington.

My partner and I had heard the buzz about Masala Art for months, and finally, we decided to see if it lived up to the hype. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, it not only met but completely exceeded our expectations. This isn't just a meal; it's a culinary experience.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with genuine passion.

We started with the Mixed Grill Platter, and it was a revelation. The tender pieces of Tandoori Chicken were succulent and smoky, the Sheekh Kebab was perfectly spiced with a wonderful texture, and the Tandoori Prawns were an absolute standout – juicy king prawns in a light. It was the perfect start.

For our mains, we ventured into their chef's specials. The Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) was, without question, the best I have ever tasted. The sauce was impossibly creamy, rich, and subtly sweet, with a complex depth of flavour that just lingered. The chicken was so tender it melted in the mouth.

Alongside it, we ordered the Goat curry. The Goat was fall-apart tender, having clearly been slow-cooked for hours, and the gravy was a beautiful, aromatic symphony of spices – robust and warming without being overly hot. We paired these with a Garlic Chilli Naan that was fluffy, blistered to perfection, and packed with flavour, and a portion of Lemon Rice that was fragrant and the perfect, zesty accompaniment to soak up the incredible sauces.

We were too full for dessert, but our waiter insisted we try a bite of the Gulab Jamun. I'm so glad he did! Served warm, these soft, syrupy dumplings were the ideal sweet ending to a perfect meal.

An absolute 10/10 – do not miss this place!

Perfect one night stay in between Christmas and NY. Christmas decorations are beautiful, spa garden at sunset with cocktails was memorable, superior room in the old hall was amazing and the food (breakfast and dinner) was outstanding. Expensive but worth every penny! Staff were the best I have ever experienced at a hotel. Polite, helpful, non intrusive and totally customer focused. Highly recommend and did not want to leave. Thank you for an amazing stay.

I booked the Tapas Bar on behalf of DarlingtonOS for our after show party. George, Chloe and all the staff were just brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the buffet menu and there was an excellent choice of food and plenty of it. They catered for all people with dietary requirements, Veggie, Vegan and Gluten free. All who attended said they loved it, it was a great venue with atmosphere and they loved the food. I will certainly be booking again. Some are even going to book with family as they loved it do much. Thank you !

I came into this pub for a drink and thought their deals on food and menu looked pretty decent so came back to try something.
They have a good sized menu with plenty of things to suit everyone. Their prices are really reasonable and they have really good deals. If you make an account on their website you can get a free pint of coors beer with your burger (or a half if you're driving).
I ordered the old faithful beef double burger.
It took about 5-10 minutes to get to my table. Everything was hot. The chips were really nice and crispy.
I ordered the burger minus the bbq sauce because it's not my thing and I put mayo from the condiments selection on the table.
The burger meat itself is not gourmet. Quite thick burgers but that's not a put down - I've just been on the hunt for the perfect burger for a long time. It was still tasty and i ate most of it (it's huge!).
Overall the food was really good value for money, really filling and i left feeling bloated in the best possible way.
The pub is really nice and can be busy but it seems to draw a respectful crowd. It wasn't rowdy.
The staff are really friendly and everything is really clean and comfortable.
There's also a really nice beer garden out front with nice lights that make it quite cosy. There's also another smaller beer garden out the back.
If you want a nice pub and some good grub - I highly recommend the white horse.
