I have seen 'Favourite Child' at quite a few smaller venues across the North East. These venues are providing new bands the opportunity to build up a following and gain valuable experience in the art of performing.
The Forum Music Studios is a first class venue. The stage is a good size. This isn't always the case. The venue seems more than capable of catering for a few hundred people. There is also a sizeable bar to quench the thirsts of that crowd.
'Favourite Child' were on top form. They continue to get better and better. The venue must have suited them. They suited the crowd as they were very well received. They have already released a couple of singles and are set to release more. Their varied set shows how they are expanding their individual style. With venues like The Forum Music Studios giving these bands the opportunity, the only way is up.
I wish I lived closer. A ticket costing only £4-50 to see three excellent, up and coming bands. Excellent value for money. Hats off to those with the foresight to provide these valuable venues.

I booked the Tapas Bar on behalf of DarlingtonOS for our after show party. George, Chloe and all the staff were just brilliant and nothing was too much trouble. We ordered the buffet menu and there was an excellent choice of food and plenty of it. They catered for all people with dietary requirements, Veggie, Vegan and Gluten free. All who attended said they loved it, it was a great venue with atmosphere and they loved the food. I will certainly be booking again. Some are even going to book with family as they loved it so much. Thank You!

We celebrated NYE with good friends at the Brinkburn. A good crowd, not over full and a wide selection of ages. The entertainment worked really well. The DJ played music for all and worked hard and successfully playing a few daft games that got everyone involved. All this whilst maintaining a fun atmosphere that allowed people to talk amongst themselves as required. The bar staff were excellent to a person, working really hard, cheerfully and full of smiles. A very good way to see in the New Year

Ate with a friend in Salt last night. It was her first visit to Salt but I have been a quite a few times before. Really nice chilled vibe still, the staff were really friendly and helpful as my friend couldn’t decide what to choose from the menu! They also returned to our table several times while we were there to ask if we needed anything else.
The food was delicious as always!!! We had the two time burger, cheesy garlic fries, quesadillas and burger fries. ( A couple of cocktails also which were good too!) My friend loved it and we will both be returning soon! Thanks guys!

We had a lovely meal here tonight. We rang ahead and booked a table as it was a 20 min drive from home. We were greeted warmly, and seated straight away. We had cod and chips, battered sausage and chips and haggis and chips. All the food was delicious and freshly cooked. The fish was perfect, with lovely light batter, and the chips were tasty. We were impressed at how fresh the food was. We all had a dessert too, as we were feeling frivolous - sticky toffee pudding, chocolate fondant and cheesecake. All served with a choice of Archer's ice cream or custard. The food was excellent, the staff were very friendly, helpful and polite. The restaurant is bright, well decorated, and very welcoming. I would highly recommend a visit and the recent award is well justified. There is a small car park too, we were lucky to find a spot! We will definitely return.

An Unforgettable Culinary Masterpiece in Darlington.

My partner and I had heard the buzz about Masala Art for months, and finally, we decided to see if it lived up to the hype. I can say, without a shadow of a doubt, it not only met but completely exceeded our expectations. This isn't just a meal; it's a culinary experience.

From the moment we walked in, the ambiance was warm and inviting. The staff were incredibly attentive and knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with genuine passion.

We started with the Mixed Grill Platter, and it was a revelation. The tender pieces of Tandoori Chicken were succulent and smoky, the Sheekh Kebab was perfectly spiced with a wonderful texture, and the Tandoori Prawns were an absolute standout – juicy king prawns in a light. It was the perfect start.

For our mains, we ventured into their chef's specials. The Butter Chicken (Murgh Makhani) was, without question, the best I have ever tasted. The sauce was impossibly creamy, rich, and subtly sweet, with a complex depth of flavour that just lingered. The chicken was so tender it melted in the mouth.

Alongside it, we ordered the Goat curry. The Goat was fall-apart tender, having clearly been slow-cooked for hours, and the gravy was a beautiful, aromatic symphony of spices – robust and warming without being overly hot. We paired these with a Garlic Chilli Naan that was fluffy, blistered to perfection, and packed with flavour, and a portion of Lemon Rice that was fragrant and the perfect, zesty accompaniment to soak up the incredible sauces.

We were too full for dessert, but our waiter insisted we try a bite of the Gulab Jamun. I'm so glad he did! Served warm, these soft, syrupy dumplings were the ideal sweet ending to a perfect meal.

An absolute 10/10 – do not miss this place!

This place should be fully booked every night. Great hosts and staff, and the food is amazing. Weve eaten 3 times this week while on holiday in Ingleton. Pizza's delicious, burger was lovely, Steak was cooked to perfection and very tender. The garlic mushrooms are next level. The price point is just right for pub grub but is next level on quality. This place is a hidden gem.
...a must visit if your near by.5*...we will be back..
