We had an absolutely amazing meal here following a family graduation, and everything from start to finish was spot on. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was just lovely — relaxed, welcoming, and special.

A real standout moment was the staff’s thoughtfulness. Some of our party vape, and given the cold North! they stepped outside — the server immediately went out and turned on the outdoor heaters without us even asking. Such a small thing, but it showed real care and attention.

The cocktails were honestly to die for ? — beautifully made and dangerous in the best way! We’ll definitely be returning and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place.

Lovely little café, staff so attentive and friendly. Very informed about allergies/intolerances. Stopped for breakfast, bargain price and good gluten free options including bread. Would definitely recommend to anyone staying on a hotel nearby!

Friendly staff, greeted with a smile. Lucky that I booked because the restaurant was packed. After having my meal there, I can see why. The basket of bread was lovely, fresh, thick, light and warm, wholemeal and white. I had the Texas BBQ Parmo with peperoni and bacon, I've had a few Parmo's around the area and this was by far the best. I actually used the word PHENOMENAL when I was asked how it was when I paid the bill.

Ordered from here tonight and to be fair it took a while. However the delivery girl - to her credit- told us, our order had leaked out so she took it back to have a new one prepared. It was stunning. 1st time visiting Verrills after being recommended.
Long Que outside, but goes down really quickly as plenty of polite staff serving.
The fish and chips were beautiful accompanied by some curry sauce.
No card payments excepted. Had to drive around to find a cash point.
Next time I’m in Hartlepool i will definitely be back. I would highly recommend.
The people alongside me in the Que were all lovely and friendly too.

My family and I went to The Spotted Cow for Christmas dinner and it was fabulous. The food was unbelievable and the waitresses were very pleasant, seeing to our every needs. First visit and extremely impressed. Heard a lot of good reviews about the coffee and food so we came for a late breakfast. Excellent selection and very good value. Food was hot and plentiful and felt homemade and not part precooked like in some other chain bars or restaurants. the coffees were also very nice but it was the service that made it memorable enough to stay for a second round. Chris and Stu serving and cooked to perfection by Sean and Oscar. Not busy in the morning so lots of seating and warm despite the icy weather outside. The banter with the staff was also friendly and welcoming. Will definitely make this a regular place.

We have walked past this restaurant many times and always thought that ‘it’s busy in there, the food must good’.\nWe called in to check it out, on spec, and were lucky to get a table. The food was excellent.\nThe main menu looked good, but then the waitress then brought over the midweek 3course special menu, which was great value. Wife had a hot shot Parmo from regular menu and I chose the bolognese Parmo from the special 3course menu.Parmos cost £14.99 but a three course meal with any Parmo costs £22.49 and includes a starter and desert,\nBoth parmos where absolutely gorgeous and huge (we took half of one home from later)\nMy Thai fishcake starter was great and cheesecake desert was excellent.\nVery nice, tasty and reasonably priced meal but the service was absolutely excellent. The staff were so professional and attentive and really quick to take orders, bring drinks and food and to clear dirty tables.\nI would definitely recommend and will return soon.

First time here and will definitely be back. The fish is so white, the batter dark, crispy and tasty just how we like it. Sausage was tasty. Chips lovely but I imagine will be even better in winter months. The overall flavour reminded me of fish and chips years ago. Staff really friendly and prices on par.

Took my mama and nephews for lunch yesterday. Mam and I had delicious toasties with lovely fresh salad and tasty chips. my nephews had chicken curry, rice and chips, which they loved. So much chicken in the curry. i had arry as well and i can understand why they like it. very tasty. We had to take home steak pies because my nephews couldn't decide between the two. Looking for to going back again. We weren't getting a train anywhere, just went for the cafe. Highly recommend.

Totally recommend this place the staff are so polite and helpful. we had 2 starters corn fritters and vegetable spring rolls which were lovely. We both ordered the massaman curry which was delicious. Great pub and great staff. Brilliant atmosphere, which is why it's busy most nights (especially the weekend). We always manage to find a table without reserving but we might be just lucky. It's a lovely pub to relax and have a pint / some pub grub and it's also dog friendly which is a bonus. It's a franchise, so the food is your typical standard menu but it's always been nice with good ingredients and served quickly. I reccomend the ultimate burger ?
