94-96 High St, BillericayHonestly wasn't expecting much when we popped into Wildwood on Billericay high street, but bloody hell, what a pleasant surprise!
Got the minute steak and chips, some focaccia to share, and obviously had to try the tiramisu because... well, when in Rome (or Billericay). Whole lot came to £17 which these days is basically a miracle.
The steak was spot on - proper tender and cooked just right. None of that chewy nonsense you sometimes get. Chips were banging too, nice and crispy on the outside. The focaccia was still warm when it came out and we absolutely demolished it before the mains even arrived (oops).
But can we talk about this tiramisu for a sec? Normally I'm a bit meh about desserts but this one was actually ridiculous. Like, properly good. Had that perfect coffee kick and wasn't too sweet or anything.
Staff were lovely as well - really chatty and seemed to actually enjoy their jobs, which you don't see everywhere. One of the servers even had a laugh with us about how quickly we'd polished off the bread.
Look, it's not fancy fine dining or anything, but sometimes you just want good food that doesn't cost a fortune and leaves you feeling proper satisfied. This place nailed it.
Already planning to drag the missus back next weekend. Might even try something different on the menu... or just get exactly the same thing again because why mess with perfection, right?
Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

7 High St, BillericayVery busy on a Friday night… had to wait for 10-15 mins for a table but it was worth it. Service was friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We ordered hot meze and mixed grill between 3 of us, which was more than enough. Lamb chops from the mix grill is a must try. Finished with baklava and chai. Turkish red wine was nice as well. Bill was reasonable for the amount we ordered and did not come with service charge pre-added, which I appreciated and tipped accordingly based on the service we felt we received (which was good). Thoroughly recommended.

We recently celebrated a surprise 40th birthday at Flamingo Billericay, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
From our initial enquiries to the moment we arrived, Emma and her team made us feel incredibly welcome—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The food was a highlight: beautifully presented, full of flavour, and catered to a range of tastes, including a separate platter for gluten free guests, which they really appreciated.
The venue itself has a fantastic atmosphere—stylish yet relaxed, with just the right energy for a celebration.
A huge thank you to Emma and the entire team for making the afternoon / evening so special. Your kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed, and we’re truly grateful.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to host a special event in or around the Billericay area.

Jacksons Ln, BillericayI went to Oliver’s Italian Sunday afternoon for some lunch. The staff are so amazing and so lovely. The atmosphere and restaurant is just stunning. The food was delicious and it has its own car park which was a bonus. I will be recommending this place to all of my friends and I will be back. A member of staff told me brunches and live music is something they plan for the future so I’m really looking forward to what’s in store.

Coffee was again superb. In fact we enjoyed the experience so much we're going back tomorrow to try the Home made pasta. It smelt so nice that we almost plumped for that instead.
From memory they've been in Billericay High St at least a dozen years, we've lived there 33years and always meant to try them. Well now we have and we'll be back !

Mountnessing Rd, BillericayWent to the Inn on the Green on a Wednesday evening with a group of friends for quiz night. We all had the burger and a beer/soft drink deal and all agreed the burgers one great. One of the guys even said it was the best burger he’d eaten in a while, in front of his wife, who said they'd had homemade ones recently, oops. We also had a nice bottle of white wine, which I enjoyed drinking with my chicken burger. Anyway we went for there for the quiz, I was quietly confident we would do well as I had won two weeks in a row with three of my friends. However we only managed to come second to last, due to a reckless answer in the wipe out round. Never mind it’s the taking part that counts, and spending some quality time with friends in a lovely local refurbished pub. Quiz guy was very good, kept the questions going and made sure nobody was on their phone. I would mention his name but I've forgotten it, sorry. Anyway, hoping to go back with my original (winning) group of friends again this week. So if anyone is up to the challenge, grab a mate or a few and come and join us. Quiz starts around 8pm but we got there about 7pm to get some food first. One of us even ordered via an app, from the comfort of their chair, while the rest of us went to the bar. Staff were all friendly and helpful, so I’m happy to do a review for them, just hope we can still get a table if it gets busy.

Stopped by this gem of a place in Billericay and was seriously impressed. The fish and chips were spot on. perfectly crispy batter, flaky fresh fish, and golden, fluffy chips. But what really took me by surprise was the kebab, hands down one of the best I’ve ever had! Juicy, and full of flavour. Portion sizes are generous and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re craving a classic chippy tea or a delicious kebab, this place delivers every time. Highly recommend! Have been their customer for years now!!!

38 High St, BillericayWe hired Harry’s Bar function room for a 60th birthday party on Sunday.
The room was great; it had its own bar, toilets and outside seating and the staff, who were very helpful,even moved tables & chairs away so we had a dance floor. We decided against a DJ but did our own playlist & played it through their sound system.
We were able to set up at 6.30pm and the party ran from 7.30 -10.30pm.
We had welcome drinks on arrival, which worked well and then chatting dancing and singing all night long.
We had to pay a small deposit and agree a minimum spend on the night.

Food turned up bang on time.
Four of us ordered and we all commented on how good the food was.
I had a Lamb Rogan Josh and the flavour was amazing, much more than i usually find in one.
No complaints at all and will be ordering from them in the future.

I have been to many Ask Italians, but this one was definitely up there with one of the nicest. The decor and atmosphere was really nice, and the staff are very hard-working. I've been coming here for years and now that I live in Australia, when I come back, this is the second place I come to after visiting family.

The Shepherd and Dog LTD, Crays Hill, BillericayA beautiful pub that serves traditional home cooked food. The liver and bacon was outstanding and so was the burger. The staff and the land lady were absolute stars, very helpful, friendly and very welcoming. Highly recommend

Felix Seafood Grill
1 Chapel St, BillericayModern decor providing a nice ambience. Food was terrific - prawn starters were perfect and the mussels truly excellent. We all had the herb crusted cod for mains which also really tasty and good. Great fries.
An excellent dining experience spoiled slightly by some ragged service later on as the restaurant got busy. But still deserves a 5 score

The Magic Mushroom
Barleylands Rd, BillericayI had a lovely birthday meal here. The food is tasty. They have a selection of well thought out vegan options. The set menu is a very reasonable price for how nice it was. Staff were attentive and thoughtful.
Ample car park but it is across the road.
I would recommend and return.

Inn on the Green
Mountnessing Rd, BillericayWent to the Inn on the Green on a Wednesday evening with a group of friends for quiz night. We all had the burger and a beer/soft drink deal and all agreed the burgers one great. One of the guys even said it was the best burger he’d eaten in a while, in front of his wife, who said they'd had homemade ones recently, oops. We also had a nice bottle of white wine, which I enjoyed drinking with my chicken burger. Anyway we went for there for the quiz, I was quietly confident we would do well as I had won two weeks in a row with three of my friends. However we only managed to come second to last, due to a reckless answer in the wipe out round. Never mind it’s the taking part that counts, and spending some quality time with friends in a lovely local refurbished pub. Quiz guy was very good, kept the questions going and made sure nobody was on their phone. I would mention his name but I've forgotten it, sorry. Anyway, hoping to go back with my original (winning) group of friends again this week. So if anyone is up to the challenge, grab a mate or a few and come and join us. Quiz starts around 8pm but we got there about 7pm to get some food first. One of us even ordered via an app, from the comfort of their chair, while the rest of us went to the bar. Staff were all friendly and helpful, so I’m happy to do a review for them, just hope we can still get a table if it gets busy.

Coach & Horses
36 Chapel St, BillericayOnly pop in for a pint of Fosters waiting for a Bus met a couple of fellow young Electricians working there at the back garden area shared a bit of knowledge with them that might be handy with a Big Job in Corringham next Year!Bar were attentive and welcoming used to go in this Pub 45years ago when I owned Viscount Radio a successful Ctv radio repairs workshop with my sister being the receptionist and,many other staff located at 20 Chapel Street in an old Dutch barn now in Wat Tyler's Park.I used to park my 18ft racing Phantom 200hp Johnson powerboat aptly named Supertramp with Pontiac 400 Catalina Safari Station Wagon tow vehicle there in the Warehouse. I upgraded to a World Class 3 winning 21ft Phantom aptly namely Phantasize before giving up and travelling to Oz,Thailand and the World to live my life!
Parking: Iceland or Waitstrose Car park can be,used

Wildwood
94-96 High St, BillericayHonestly wasn't expecting much when we popped into Wildwood on Billericay high street, but bloody hell, what a pleasant surprise!
Got the minute steak and chips, some focaccia to share, and obviously had to try the tiramisu because... well, when in Rome (or Billericay). Whole lot came to £17 which these days is basically a miracle.
The steak was spot on - proper tender and cooked just right. None of that chewy nonsense you sometimes get. Chips were banging too, nice and crispy on the outside. The focaccia was still warm when it came out and we absolutely demolished it before the mains even arrived (oops).
But can we talk about this tiramisu for a sec? Normally I'm a bit meh about desserts but this one was actually ridiculous. Like, properly good. Had that perfect coffee kick and wasn't too sweet or anything.
Staff were lovely as well - really chatty and seemed to actually enjoy their jobs, which you don't see everywhere. One of the servers even had a laugh with us about how quickly we'd polished off the bread.
Look, it's not fancy fine dining or anything, but sometimes you just want good food that doesn't cost a fortune and leaves you feeling proper satisfied. This place nailed it.
Already planning to drag the missus back next weekend. Might even try something different on the menu... or just get exactly the same thing again because why mess with perfection, right?
Definitely recommend if you're in the area!

The Chequers
44 High St, BillericayOrdered food as i witnessed the plated gold they were bringing out for others. I was not disapointed. All the staff were so happy and welcoming it got me excited about the food and my time here very nice regulars, and the randoms that came in (like me) left with a smile. Very clean toilets clean bars and tables. Very nice ye olde interior alot of history. Thank you !

7 High St, BillericayVery busy on a Friday night… had to wait for 10-15 mins for a table but it was worth it. Service was friendly and efficient. Food came out quickly and was delicious. We ordered hot meze and mixed grill between 3 of us, which was more than enough. Lamb chops from the mix grill is a must try. Finished with baklava and chai. Turkish red wine was nice as well. Bill was reasonable for the amount we ordered and did not come with service charge pre-added, which I appreciated and tipped accordingly based on the service we felt we received (which was good). Thoroughly recommended.

We recently celebrated a surprise 40th birthday at Flamingo Billericay, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
From our initial enquiries to the moment we arrived, Emma and her team made us feel incredibly welcome—friendly, attentive, and genuinely warm. The food was a highlight: beautifully presented, full of flavour, and catered to a range of tastes, including a separate platter for gluten free guests, which they really appreciated.
The venue itself has a fantastic atmosphere—stylish yet relaxed, with just the right energy for a celebration.
A huge thank you to Emma and the entire team for making the afternoon / evening so special. Your kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail didn’t go unnoticed, and we’re truly grateful.
Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to host a special event in or around the Billericay area.
