Lovely little pub. Nice atmosphere, good drinks and food is nice. Garden space is good and is dog freindly with biscuits behind the bar for the fluffy friends.
Pool table darts and slot machine to keep you busy. No designated disabled bays that I could see, but never had a problem finding space with enough room.

This is a great pub. Frequented by locals but also welcomed if not a frequent regular. Not my nearest pub and everytime I go I always wonder why I don't go more often. Service is excellent, staff really friendly. Dog friendly and food is always good. Great beer garden and location is also good.

I discovered the greatest spot while running errands today, with my husband. We saw the cute sign outside the quaint shop called Cackleberrys and felt like we were being pulled in. So glad we did because it made us both so happy. The pies, cakes and other sweet/savories were on beautiful display and the delightfully jolly staff made us feel truly welcomed. The decision was difficult because there were gourmet cakes with combo flavors I had never seen before but in the end we settled on a traditional slice of carrot cake and lattes to dine in, in the cutest living groom type atmosphere. The icing wasn't too sweet like we have in the USA, where they will often make it with cream cheese which is very rich and heavy. This was the opposite and quite lovely. The latte was presented in a tall glass with a sweet on the plate for an additional touch. I will come back with my laptop to work here and get lunch next time.

We had a wonderful meal at Truffles. It was quite quiet as most people were out at fireworks displays, so we were able to enjoy the nice relaxed atmosphere. \n\nThe service was attentive and friendly, but the real star of the show is the food which was nothing short of excellent. \n\nI had the Crab Thermidor Potato Skin starter, and it was lovely. The flavours of the crab were perfectly complimented by the pickled side.\n\nThe mains were even better. I had the Venison which was cooked to perfection and accompanied with a black pudding hash that was rich and smooth. My wife had the chicken with mash and mushroom sauce and she said it was succulent and juicy chicken and the sauce was out of this world in flavour. \n\nWe will definitely be going back!

Came down from the North and wanted a pub meal with my Cousin and found the Golden Lion close by and not to far from Port Solent,\nAs it was Quiz night tables were booked but we managed to get one,\nThe owner i think told us there would be a bit of a wait from the kitchen, not a problem,\nOrdered the chicken and ham pie, chips and beans,\nThe pie was what we call a posh pie up North not an enclosed pie but a dish with a puff pastry lid,\nIt came out hot as was the rest on a hot plate ( full marks for that ), the pie was served in an old fashioned enamel dish and was so good i needed a spoon to finish the sauce off, creamy and thick with plenty of chicken and ham, plenty of good quality chips and beans,\nWell done to the kitchen staff, had a chat with one of them at the bar with the owner i think and praised them for the food,\nThis is one we will definitely go back to when i am in the area again,\nAlan

Home cooked food really was honecooked by someone who really can cook.

Tge water pastry on tge pie was a wonderful departure from the frozen puff pastry used by too many pubs. The vegetables were perfectly cooked. And the chillie just hit enough and full of flavour.

This is a superb restaurant, not linked to the other branches. I understand that he chef has 40 years of experience and it certainly shows. This was the best Indian meal that I've ever had and one of the best meals ever. The staff were welcoming and the service was excellent. We arrived at 5pm in the week and it was very quiet indeed. We were very impressed and thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

Just a quick visit ...tagged on to final day of holiday and visit to Porchester Castle so headed for the coast for a stroll...Nice welcome had just missed warm food service time up to 2pm but that was fine for us as we only wanted drinks and cake or ice cream. Lovely selection of both. Dog friendly, sat in the little sheltered beach hut style huts which afforded a view of the sea still. Massive chunks of cake and good value. 3 cakes and cold drinks just a little over £20.

The four of us at lunch today were 100% happy. Very friendly welcome, our food was served promptly and we all thoroughly enjoyed everything whilst apologising for not being able to empty our plates. Absolutely recommend the Steak Mushroom and Ale pie, but please starve yourself for 24 hours before hand. I was ashamed to leave so many chips and veg!!!! (My wife loved her liver and bacon but still couldn't finish even her 'smaller' portion.)

What a fantastic pub with the tastiest steaks ever. It might be a pub but the food is of restaurant quality, definitely not pub food! I’ve eaten in all of the pubs locally and this is by far the very best in the area. I’ve eaten here 4 times, 2 T Bones, 2 Tomahawks and can’t wait to my 5th visit. The service is friendly, really efficient and the prices are great value because of the high quality food. Booked up for a Christmas meal with friends but might visit again sooner.

Popped into The Cuckoo Pint in Stubbington last night for a drink and was really impressed. Although it was quite busy and there was only one barmaid working, she handled it brilliantly, super friendly, efficient, and clearly great at her job. Despite the rush, she made sure everyone was served with a smile and kept the atmosphere upbeat.

The pub itself has a warm, welcoming vibe with a nice mix of locals. It’s got that classic British pub charm and a good selection of drinks behind the bar. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area, I’ll be back for sure!

So much better than a year ago when we last visited Bills in Southampton and they were offering a very limited menu. The menus are now extensive, offering a variety of choice and good quality food. All the staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive , especially Grace who couldn't be more helpful. Although we thought a glass of 175ml wine was a bit overpriced at around £8 each, we will definitely be returning again soon.

Absolutely delicious! The food arrived hot, fresh, and full of flavor. Every dish was perfectly seasoned – rich curries, tender meat, and the naan was soft and fluffy. Portions were generous and great value for money. Delivery was on time, and everything was packaged neatly so nothing spilled. You can tell real care goes into the cooking. Easily one of the best Indian takeaways I’ve had in a long time – will definitely be ordering again!
