Bonnie's
16 Westgate, HaltwhistleWhat a lovely little café! We were staying in the area, and came in for some lunch. We had our dog with us, they were super accommodating and bought him some water over. The drinks and food were all delicious and the atmosphere was calming. Staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. My daughter accidentally poured sugar all over her chips thinking it was salt, when we were getting ready to leave, we were having a laugh about it and explained what had happened. They offered to make a fresh batch of chips which we took away and also included an egg. They didn’t have to do this, but they did it anyway. I’m so impressed and highly recommend to anybody in the area. Visit Bonnie’s, I promise you won’t be disappointed! ?

Wallace Arms
Rowfoot, HaltwhistleWow what a pub! After a throughly disappointing experience at the Black bull in Haltwhistle, with the most miserable bar man I've ever met, this experience was the polar opposite. Unfortunately we turned up with no cash, and it's cash only, but we managed to gather some together to buy a round, but all the locals in the pub were so kind offering to buy us another round. Everyone was so friendly, our dog was given so many treats. Absolutely gutted it was the last day of our holiday as we would have come back here every day but with cash! If I could give this pub more stars I would. Great range of drinks, stunning location and lovely pub with a roaring fire.

Milecastle Inn
Milecastle Inn, North Road, HaltwhistleThis is a fantastic, independently run family pub. We were a group of 9 that turned up for lunch without a booking - tables were moved, wet and readied for us within minutes and we were made to feel like nothing was any trouble. Our food was timely and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend and would drive out of our way to staip here for great pub grub again!

The Black Bull
Market Square, 6 Market Square, HaltwhistleHad a delicious Sunday Lunch here. Very tasty in a very historical public house. The owners were friendly and happy to talk to us about the history of the pub.
The Black Bull is dog friendly and at the time we visited (mid Feb) there was a roaring fire. There were locals eating who gladly told us of local places to visit. All in all an excellent Sunday dinner experience. One of the best Sunday dinners we've had with lots of hot tasty food. Thank you and complements to the chef ?

The Pillar Box Cafe
Main St, HaltwhistleA great find! Not a top class cafe, not high dining, just a basic small town simple-food cafe…..but it does what it does so well. A really warm welcome, home cooked cakes, wholesome fresh cooked meals and snacks, very reasonable prices, quickly served. Who could want for more?
We stopped off on our journey along the A69 and its well worth making the short diversion into Haltwhistle for this.
The cafe is award winning.
♿️The place is readily accessible at street level. Tables are conveniently spaced. There is a good accessible toilet.

the Jubilee
Railway Terrace, HaltwhistleNice sports bar with 4 big screens showing sport. We came here to watch the 12.30pm premier league football match. The seats are comfortable and the beers are reasonably priced with a good selection of various larger.
It’s not the cosiest pub, but for watching live sport it’s a good place to go.
The bloke serving us was kind and helpful.

Manor House Hotel, Pub & Restaurant
Main St, HaltwhistleStayed for two nights in January 2026. The location is perfect for local walks and for visiting nearby attractions such as the museums, Hadrian’s Wall, and Vindolanda.
The rooms are clean, tidy, and very comfortable. The staff are exceptionally friendly and genuinely couldn’t do more to help - both around the hotel and with advice about the area.
The food is superb: classic pub dishes done to a really high standard. Breakfast is excellent too. Saturday’s breakfast was the standout - the bacon was incredible.
Highly recommended, and we’ll definitely be returning.

Lucky Palace
HaltwhistleCalled whilst on holiday and very impressed with the food. Staff were very pleasant and food was very tasy and great value for money. Shredded chicken in honey chilli sauce and chicken and mushroom were both excellent. We will definitely be back next time we visit the area.
