Stanegate, Newbrough, HexhamWe had a lovely stay here. The rooms have everything you need and the heater in the room was a godsend. We were drenched after our walk along Hadrian’s wall and thankfully the heater worked miracles to dry our clothes, the lady also offered to dry our walking boots next to the fire. The food here is excellent, I ordered the fish for dinner. They always offer food for residents. The pub is warm and inviting too. They request that you preorder breakfast and it arrived perfectly in time with plenty of toast.

Make sure you pop along to the odd fellows but that’s not to say the workers were odd because the service was fantastic! You won’t be disappointed if you stop by for bite in here

General Havelock Inn
9 Ratcliffe Rd, Haydon Bridge, HexhamReally did not understand why on a Saturday night, we were the sole diners. We returned later in the evening because the beer was well kept unlike some other pubs in town. The food was beautifully presented and the staff were very careful to tailor the food for allergy needs. It's not a cheap dinner. But the standards of the food reflect the price. One of us had a steak and said it's the best they had had in some time. And special mention again to the waiting staff as they both were so kind and professional.
