Such a shame about the amount of dogs in the place. We were in a few days ago, dogs barking, fighting at one point it was appalling. One dog was on the furniture despite notices banning that. We'll probably always call in when we're at Embleton, but the last experience out us off a bit.

The Beef Club @ The Plough
22, 24 Bondgate Without, AlnwickWe visited for a mid week meal and took advantage of the half price main meals deal during January. The Plough is a very clean pub and has friendly staff. We ordered the haggis scotch egg and crispy chicken starters which arrived promptly and were cooked very well. It was fish and chips and the fillet steak for main. Again, excellent quality and well presented. I would definitely recommend the Plough for food and drinks. The drinks are a touch on the expensive side compared to other pubs in Alnwick but does offer a very good environment and decor. Overall, a great meal in a nice pub with excellent staff.
