23 Market St, GalashielsCame for a family get together and we did had a great evening.\n\nWas a slightly slow start if I’m honest as the staff seemed a little overwhelmed. Think the main business here is in the day hence the last evening reservation being 7 pm and it showed. \n\nThat being said, they all rallied and we had a wonderful time. Would thoroughly recommend the fish and chips - the batter was so light and sublime - fabulous.

36 Market St, GalashielsWe came in for a late Sunday evening post-cinema curry. The team at Asaika were extremely courteous, welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. You feel more like an expected guest than a mere “customer”, even when turning up unannounced, Nothing was too much trouble. \n\nThe food was delicious, homemade, and produced impressively quickly, given that it was cooked from scratch. The menu is generous, with several fresh options to try, as well as the familiar classics. Everything was lovely: standout highlights for me were the Tarka Dal (beautifully earthy and well-balanced) and the garlic naan (both light and crispy at the same time - probably the best naan I’ve ever had, and I’ve eaten Michelin starred Indian meals in London!). Presentation is simple yet elegant, especially the pretty pilau rice. \n\nThe restaurant itself is clean and pleasant, with some well-chosen prints on the walls, and just the right background music: enough to give atmosphere, but never enough to be annoying. Alcohol is not offered (you can bring your own - Tesco is moments away) but there’s an extensive selection of non-alcoholic beers to try. \n\nA really lovely evening. We’ll be back! Thank you very much.

Open plan kitchen/dining where you can watch the Chefs at work and contrary to popular belief no shouting and expletives. My meal, Ravioli, tasted delicious, however, I know the pasta is supposed to be served Al dente, but mine was a bit too hard where that I had to really cut into it. The price was reasonable, the place was quiet, albeing it was a Sunday I did like it.

Paton St, GalashielsThe food is tasty for a supermarket cafe and the staff are friendly. My son enjoys the chicken burger and the breakfasts have also been good. They do often run out of items, but seem to rely on a different company supplying their stock as they are not part the supermarket downstairs which seems a shame!

Topped off with a chicken madras & korma . Mushroom & pilau rice , garlic Nan & large kebab ( seperate ) . Shared with a fussy household and everyone piled in. \nTheir delivery service is rapid so again they cover outwith Galashiels. You will not be disappointed. Cheers Mike Smith

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this wee cafe. Only 1 issue - cakes are SO good if you are on a diet you'll need to have a lot of willpower or forget the diet. These are not to be missed!

Gordons Hairdressers, High St, GalashielsI phoned for a family meal I was asked to pick up 20 minutes later. Food was ready on time and we had mixed starter, king prawn curry, salt and chilli chips and shredded chilli beef. All dishes were delicious and very impressed indeed.
