Estabulo Rodizio Bar & Grill - Barnsley

Attended on a Sunday evening, it was very quiet and we were told a number of certain meats were not available. Some staff appeared to be inexperienced, they did try their best in the circumstances, they were friendly enough and tried to make us feel welcome but I still felt rushed to eat our meal. Not a major issue, however, considering the price…….would not recommend or come back to this particular restaurant.

Favela Brazillian Grill

First time eating here, we were going to eat at estabulo's but they had changed the menu from the usual meats to a limited lunch menu. So decided to try favela and we were not disappointed!! The service was quick the staff were very friendly and the waiter could not do more for you. Lots of choice for the salad bar. It was a lovely experience for our little celebration!! We have definitely found a new favourite!!!

Food Paradise

Food Paradise in Barnsley is one of the best spots I’ve eaten at! The food is fresh, well-seasoned, and the portions are seriously generous. I highly recommend the knysza – perfectly baked bread, plenty of meat, and delicious extras. The staff is friendly and quick, and the place has a relaxed, welcoming vibe. Prices are fair for the quality you get. I’ll definitely be coming back! ???

Old George

Although it was our first visit, we were so satisfied that we will definitely be returning.
The service was great (❤️), and the food was simply delicious.??

Istanbul Kitchen and Bar

Nice Turkish food, been to a few different Turkish places in the past and this lives up to the hype. I like the sujuk sausage, the mixed grill is great you get to try most of everything. Service was good. Will be coming back.

There’s a car park pay and display right next to it, wasn’t expensive.

Po wielu pozytywnych rekomendacjach od znajomych postanowiliśmy dzisiaj odwiedzić restaurację.Zamówiliśmy żurek i tradycyjne kotlety schabowe.Żurek był bardzo aromatyczny i świeży,biała kiełbasa bardzo smaczna,a dodatek jajka podkreślił smak. Kotlety były soczyste w środku,panierka chrupiąca,ziemniaki pyszne,kapusta zasmażana również.Dań nie trzeba było doprawiać,ponieważ kucharz ma smak i wszystko co robi przygotowuje z pasją.Obsługa bardzo miła i pozytywna,restauracja jest przytulna,czysta i z pewnością wrócimy do tego miejsca i będziemy je polecać.

Urban Fresh Burgers & Fries - Barnsley

Served by Steve who gave excellent, friendly customer service, quickly and thoroughly settled any queries I had about the menu.

Food quality was amazing, especially for the low price compared to similar burger establishments. Robbie cooked a really good burger, and the chips by craig were too good. Well seasoned and yummy! Would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic pub.
Family run.
Great, friendly, attentive service.
Brilliant selection of drinks.
It's the kitchen that sets this place apart however.
Everything is freshly made in house. Even down to the complimentary lavender short breads that come with every hot drink that you order. Simply stunning.
The menu changes regularly.
The portions are very generous.
Can't sing the praises of the puddings enough. Last time I was there, I had a pineapple rum upside down cake. Individually moulded. With a ladle full of fresh made Creme Anglaise. Absolutely stunning!

Just eaten here. Staff and food absolutely fantastic. But why is this place empty? Is it the location, because if this restuarant was full the atmosphere would be transformed.

We visited last night, arrived on time and our table was ready and waiting, staff were really friendly and helpful, drinks arrived in short time and order placed which again arrived in good time, food was superb in good portion and filling, staff were attentive without being overly pushy. Bill came and was a surprise, great value. Will visit again, well worth a visit

Lemon Tree

Lovely food, reasonably priced, great efficient and friendly service, will definitely come back. Had the hallumi kebab starter and lamd and chicken shish kebab, shared a chocolate brownie for pudding. All food was amazing

Food was amazing, very different choices. Staff and service was very good. I had a white wine, large glass, above average pub measure, and it was very nice. Nice to see the waitress who worked here before, always a smile. Will be coming back.

Absolutely fabulous in every way!
We visit Barnsley a lot,so definitely next time we are over from Scarborough. I know where we will be visiting.

Went early evening on Christmas eve. Lovely atmosphere. Both of us had the moules marinara for starter. Then the flatbreads for main. Both were lovely and couldn't fault.

We had a fabulous Sunday roast today Garlic mushrooms were to die for and both Lamb & beef Sunday lunch were delicious Finished off with sticky toffee pudding , ice cream and a Ameretti ice cream dessert

Dearne Valley Farm - Dining & Carvery

Lovely Delicious Food, Excellent Service, Amazing & Friendly Staff and A Wonderful Atmosphere. This is our second visit to this pub and it won't be the last. We have just booked for Christmas 2025. The owners/managers should be very proud of their staff as they make this a truly wonderful place to be. I also have to mention how well organised the carvery is, with the queuing system. Keep up the excellent work Dearne Valley Farm, it really does show how hard you all work. Looking forward to seeing you all again very soon. Thank You for a lovely afternoon.

Called in for sunday lunch....
My starter was 3 small cubes of what tasted like bacon with a massive amount of jalapinos from a jar.
Both ordered beef sunday lunch....the meat is obivoiusly from a catering pack .already sliced...full of fat...worst sunday lunch out in a long time.
Yorkshire pudding was nice ....18 pound per serving. Never again...£64 in total with 2 drinks each...simply crap

The Garrison

First time I have been here but my other half meets with friends every week and she eventually twisted my arm. Clean with a good atmosphere. Chairs, high stools, settees too, and there is plenty of space to relax. HUGE screen to watch sporting events and tables and chairs outside on the old cobbled yard. The food is good and the drinks are cold. They don't mind if you bring your dog here, so there is usually one or two to fuss over as they roam around from one group of people to another. It's just a nice place to meet, chat and of course, have a drink.

Beatson House Restaurant

Attended a wedding recently here at the food was amazing. Allergies catered for brilliantly. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much bother. Couldn’t recommend highly enough. Thank you.

Pasha Turkish restaurant

First time visiting Pasha, and we will definitely go again. We had the set meal for 2 people for £50. Great value and really tasty, dips were delicious, salad fresh and good quality. The grilled meat selection was amazing, and there was plenty of it. Efes on draft was nice as it's usually bottles only in restaurants. Lovely atmosphere, nice and clean, and the service was pleasant and attentive :)

Das's Pizza

The tastiest, affordable takeaway pizzas in the area! Ordering on the website is definitely better - they always have fantastic deals on. The quality of the food is excellent and there’s a great range of options. The service and delivery is incredibly friendly too

Absolutely spot on Chicken Tikka Karahi with pilau rice, seekh kebab starter. Even asked for Chilli's in the curry and they added them no problem. Definitely recommend always consistent. Cheers guys ??

Booked a table for 2 for our wedding anniversary and was blown away by the whole experience, service and staff excellent. A nice menu , we had 3 courses plumping for fillet steak and ribeye steak for our mains . Cooked absolutely perfect which came with real chips, hand in heart the best chips we have ever eaten. A good size portion also. Highly recommend

First time here today, staff were really friendly and polite. Food was fresh and piping hot, the food is really good quality not like most takeaways with processed frozen food, ingredients taste fresh and full of flavour even the garlic mayo tastes home made with fresh garlic. Well done guys for having pride in your food and recipes. I’ll certainly be back.

Decided to call and see if we could get a table we were seated upstairs as there was a 40th birthday party downstairs it was busy but they managed to get us a table for six friendly ordering our drinks also really great customer service explaining what was on the menu food came and it looked delicious. The steak and ale pie my husband had was the best he said I had steak which was delicious my daughter had catch of the day which was wild salmon portion sizes good everything about our experience was great. We will definitely be returning and recommending to family and friends. An all round good family meal out. Please note that tips are in cash not on card as I didn’t have any cash on me, I will pay a double tip next time I visit

Nice decor, friendly staff, we had a screaming child some of it, but not a criticism of the restaraunt, but wish parents would refrain from taking noisy kids in places where people come to relax and spend more for quality, use weatherspoons if you cant control them!, now the food, at £30 you expect a great steak, meat quality was good, but i have had better at this price, medium rare as requested (visit the bridge inn at newmiller for a similary priced steak, it just tastes better, thinner cut), potatoe wedges imo not chips, my preference would be a thinner cut chip so it tates more like chips and not potatoe, however, they were coated very nice. the pate, no issues with that at all, tasty, not sure salad was a good choice with the steak and chips, and the bluecheese sauce not as thick as i would like. the 3 course meal was very substantial, i think they could reduce sizes a tad and charge a little less, £20-25 would make me think about coming back, the veg lanc hotpot delicious, as was the pea and asparagus-but too large for a starter, well done!, best in elsecar area, but not up to the standard for the prices compared with the best.
get portion size right on the three course(reduce size on starter), veg not salad with the steak, thicker sauce, and try and get those prices down by at least £5 and it would be a winner i would come back regular. support this business!

Thai 25 Street Food Cafe

My favourite place to eat from. The food is amazing. My go to is beef penang. Annie’s special fried rice. Moo ping starter. And the mixed meat biriam .staff are super friendly and accommodating. Advice for 1st timers would be to order as early as possible once they’ve opened as they get so busy they sometimes have to stop taking orders. I’ve missed out due to my own poor timekeeping too many times to count now and there’s just nowhere else that comes close in Barnsley or surrounding areas.

Didn't have food had a drink and a trip down memory lane. The refurbishment is welcoming owners friendly and helpful. Good to see it reopened good luck to the licensees in 2025

What can I say it's a Maccie D's lol.
Busy times you might get an incorrect order so maybe check your order before leaving if taking away, and expect delays.

Parking: Only a few click and collect parking spots, during busy times it does get full. Drive thru gets really busy but there is on street parking too.

Kid-friendliness: It's Ok no soft play area like some of the bigger ones have.

This is one of the better McDonalds I’ve been to, and I’ve been to a lot. It’s clean and staff are friendly enough.

Food is ok, but it can get very very busy at times so takeaway is best.

Heaven & Ale

A nice little pub just out of the town centre. The owner is so friendly, you get to know staff. There is a quiz every Tuesday with lots of thought put into it. Great addition to the community

Great little bar, staff are all nice talkative friendly folks, and some great beers on tap.

There's a couple guitars on the wall for anyone who can play to entertain others, though could do with a restring.

1st time ordering really friendly over the phone to delivering to us food was still hot its like eating home comfort in your work place defo will be ordering again :)

Miners Rest

We only moved on Kensington Rd last August. With all my hospital visits, my partner would wait for me in here, I have to say it is such a friendly pub, I don't feel out of place at all, I always hear laughter, which in my case makes it a lovley little place to go. Loved it in here.

I came here for my daughter's friend's 8th birthday party. The staff were very proactive and professional. The place was clean and inviting and the decor in the function room is lovely all-round good experience ?

Parking: I drive a seven seater car and a transit van and have parked both with ease in the car park

Kid-friendliness: There's a beer garden at the back and a nice area inside which would have plenty of space for children away from the main bar.

Wheelchair accessibility: Side entrance would be very easy to get a wheelchair though and on one level

Thaal Indian Restaurant

First time visiting after been recommended by my son. The building from outside was stunning which only complimented the interior, it was superb. The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Service was professional yet friendly and could not be faulted throughout our evening. Both the starters and main were authentic and divine and there was no room for dessert. I have eaten many a curry in my time and this has to be one of the best. We came as a family and I will most certainly be telling my family and friends to pay the Thaal a visit. We will be back. Look forward to seeing you again soon

Called here yesterday just had fish and peas and I’ve got to say the fish was the best I have had in years. I used to fry in a fish shop for 12 years so I know my stuff they were perfect compliments to the staff

The Pack Horse Inn

What a wonderful public house to come to. What was a spur of the moment, unplanned visit, turned out to be such a wonderful time.
The staff are so welcoming and the owners are beyond friendly. Not just with ourselves but especially with my dog. She's very young and boisterous, easily excited. Best described as a 32kg fridge on legs.
I have been again since and again brilliant, friendly atmosphere, where both staff and patrons alike treat my dog wonderfully and just allowed her to flop on the floor and enjoy the music and attention.

My partner took me here as a birthday surprise and it was wonderful! The food is absolutely delicious and the atmosphere unmatched. I don’t think you can get this experience anywhere else. 100% recommend!

Went on a Wednesday evening, had to book, as gets very busy..Staff very organised . Carvery, plenty of meat and great selection of vegetables..Other menu available..Definitely go again ..and recommend if you love your food..

The Mill of The Black Monks

We had an absolutely fantastic time, and our endlessly patient waitstaff were unfailingly tolerant with our dinner party – with a rambunctious three year old in tow, and the two of us grandads, clueless Americans, the both of us. Hehe.

The husband had a steak he said was perfection, I had a really lovely mushroom risotto with broccoli and asparagus (which I completely recommend), and the small girl's mom and dad had salmon, and a steak pie. We all had plenty of drinks on hand.

If you're staying for dessert, the pistachio tiramisu was worth the meal out, in itself.

Keelings

The best fish from a fish and chip shop I’ve ever eaten! It was delicious and combined with the local potato’s and a good curry sauce it’s the perfect decision for take away dinner. The staff/owner were so kind and my partner who is coeliac just loved the GF menu!
Would definitely return if I’m ever in the area again.

Bistro @ the Pocket

First time visitors and will definitely be back. I had the new lamb shank with mash and minted greens. The lamb was cooked to perfection, smooth mash and the greens had a lovely crunch to them but weren't raw. My partner opted for the duck which is also a new addition, again, the entire plate was cooked beautifully. Staff were welcoming and really down to earth we didn't want for anything.

Tha food is wonderful, however, it's cash only, make sure you ask for your receipt or you won't get one.
Service when we went there last week, was slow and I'm not totally sure how to describe the two guys working the tables, one was really nice, the other though was pleasant, but not sure about him!
We were 8, 6 adults one 5 year old and a baby, and we were a loud group, so maybe he had reservations about us.
We did have a lovely evening despite my gripes.

Puccini’s in Barnsley is absolutely outstanding! The best Italian food I’ve had in a long time – every dish is full of flavour and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming, and genuinely lovely, making it the perfect place for a relaxed meal or a special occasion. The staff are friendly and attentive, and the whole experience is consistently delicious. Highly recommended! ???

We were passing through the area after a day trip and chose Y-Pas because of the Google reviews. I’ve been stung with this approach before, but honestly, the food was excellent. I’ve saved it on my map in case we’re passing by again.

The Old Bakery Pub is an absolute gem. Proper atmosphere, friendly faces, and a pint that hits just right. Their Hawkstone beer comes out ice cold, crisp, and dangerously easy to sink. Perfect spot for a chilled pint that tastes exactly how beer should. ?

Darton Coffee House

Absolutely fantastic little cafe for Coeliacs - dropped in today for the first time and was really happily surprised. Staff were lovely, the granola is amazing and have just finished the takeaway Rocky Road. So nice to be able to eat somewhere and feel safe and welcome. 10/10 would definitely make a bee-line for it whenever I'm in the area.

Ring O'bells

Brilliant local pub. Lot's of activities both inside and out for children and families. Good selection of beers and drinks. Often a good calling point after a walk. Very dog friendly.

Chennells - Amber Taverns

Very good value for meals, hot and tasty, friendly staff, well kept beer, all at a very reasonable price. We have been several times 12 midday to 3pm. Food orders til ten to two ??

George and Dragon

Visiting Barnsley with my son for the first time to watch our team (Exeter City) play mid week. This pub was in the Good Beer Guide so thought we’d check it out. Real pub. Guy behind the bar couldn’t have been friendlier - talking us through the various ales on offer (and even recommending the Heaven & Ale pub across town). When we introduced ourselves as coming from Exeter the barman and the local customers engaged us in pleasant talk re ale, football, Devon ….
We returned for a celebratory pint after Exeters 2-1 win and were warmly welcomed back. Cracking pub, great ales!

We've been here many times and it never fails to be top quality food and service always cooked fresh. Owner very polite and friendly always, this time we had fish bits and chips very tasty excellent we'll be back soon.

We asked Steve if we could place an order for 12 of our family at 5.30pm Thursday. Steve and his staff did a fantastic job. We collected our order 30 mins later everything we ordered was perfect. All the food was delicious as usual. Thank you once again you are a star

Call quite regularly for a sandwich on way to work. Prices are average for the area. Good quality produce and always fresh.

What an unusual place to sit and listen to and admire the countryside. Easy to get to though l may add. Excellent range of drinks and snacks. Very clean toilets, will always call on our walks when it's open. Should add l think the prices are very fair also

This is one of our favourite places to eat. Food always perfect, tasty and hot. Staff very friendly and efficient and all at an excellent price. What’s not to love?

We live a mile from this pub but never been in so last night we decided to walk the dog and call in for a bite to eat.
Very friendly welcome, dog's allowed, the food was AMAZING! Best pub food we've eaten for a long time. Friendly atmosphere. Prices were bang on. We left very full and very happy. We will definitely be calling again.

East Dene Working Men's Club

Visiting away supporters were made very welcome.
Separate rooms for home and away fans.
Decent car park if you get there early.
Good selection of beers. Low key Policing.
Will definitely call here again.

Two Gates Fisheries

During my visite at my friend I was taken to this lovely place then off course, when visiting Engeland you have to eat fish and chips! Loved it! Fresh food, a very nice place and friendly People. My next trip will surely include a meal from this place.

The Old No 7

The recently taken over No. 7 has a great team behind them and provides a good atmosphere, with regular hand-pulled ales on rotation to be enjoyed by all. Enjoyed the last visit we made under the new management, will look to visit again in the near future!

Tunstall cross fisheries

Beautiful little fish and chip shop service excellent staff are great reasonably priced and most of all the fish and chips are really tasty just wished they opened more days in the week I would highly recommend paying them a visit.

Hubery’s Fish & Chips

Dropped in last night for a couple of fish suppers for me and my gal , it was suggested we try the Hake that had just been put on the menu after i initially ordered the cod , i always like to check if the chippy is open when i vist Brierley because i love the way the fish and chips are cooked , on suggestion i purchased two portions of the Hake , chips and peas , the meal was absolutely beutiful and we both said we would order it again , we also had a tub of irish curry , again suberb for dipping your chips into whilst watching a film , this shop run by a englishman produces traditional fish and chips of the higest standard the owners proactive approach to keep not only his costs down without losing quality or portioon size , as is so often the case nowadays,
Him passing his savings onto his customers has to be recognised , use Huberys chippy or lose it , times are hard for us all with this pathetic amateur labour goverment , the owner of this chippy knows his trade and is well worth a visit , once visited you will be sure to return to take in more of the fine super fresh value for money produce , the owner desrves the support of the locals and i for one will go back to samples his wares every time i travel up that way from Newark Notts , i just wished i lived closer, i have never had any reason to complain at Huberys which is a lot more than i can say for a lot of chippys i used to frequent .

This is the best chippy in Barnsley. Nothing can top it.
The fish is cooked to perfection and the chips are always a winner.
Kids meals are more than enough.
No scrimping on portions in this chippy.
