The Lost ARC
Old Drill Hall, Bridge St, RhayaderLovely garden cafe for a bite. The smoothie was unexpectedly delicious with a hit of lemongrass. The ladies were very friendly and we came back twice while we were in town for the week!

Wild Swan Whole Foods
4 West St, RhayaderDelightful shop with good range of foods of all sorts, except fresh fruit and veg as far as I remember , but you can get them a couple of doors down. Local breads and pastries, cheeses and other dairy products, generously filled quiches etc., lots made on the premises (so the proprietor is a little rushed and understandably brisk at times, trying to serve customers while beating the bara brith! but very smiley and warm). Lovely ranges of tea and coffees, chutneys and condiments, soups and yoghurts, ..... Don't miss it.
Parking: parking on street if you are lucky - which we were twice out of three visits.

Roadside Delight (Monica's Munchies)
Marteg Bridge Lay-by, A470, RhayaderI recently had the pleasure of visiting Monica’s Munchies, a fantastic local food van that serves delicious hot meals. We treated ourselves to a lovely bacon sandwich, and it was absolutely mouthwatering. The bacon was perfectly cooked—crispy and flavorful—nestled between fresh, soft bread that made for a delightful combination.
What truly stood out during our visit was the dedication of the man running the van. He was working tirelessly all day, ensuring everything was prepared fresh and served with a smile. His passion for providing great food was evident in every interaction, making the experience feel warm and inviting.
If you’re in the area and craving a hearty meal, definitely stop by Monica’s Munchies. You’ll not only enjoy a satisfying bite but also appreciate the hard work and commitment that goes into every order. It’s the perfect spot to grab a quick bite while supporting a hardworking local vendor!

Absolutely amazing, and unable to eat my full meal was provided with a container to take the rest away. Will definitely be going back.

Evans Plaice
4 North St, RhayaderFriendly staff and great food. We got a takeaway large chips, two scampi, gravy and curry sauce. Love that it came in paper bags. The whole meal was delicious and not oily like some places can be. The only dislike was the curry sauce was quite sweet for our liking.
