Mardale Inn, PenrithReally lovely little pub in a beautiful village.
Good selection of ales, lagers and Guinness on draught.
We had a Saturday lunchtime snack which was delicious, and came back for Sunday lunch which was of high quality and very reasonably priced.
Very clean throughout, well decorated and nice furnishings.
Would highly recommend a visit.

Crown Inn at Shap
3NL Main Street, PenrithWe recently spent a week in Shap, we ate at the Crown Inn on 4 separate occasions and each time the food was excellent. Nice selection of food and ales available, very friendly staff and locals too.

Kitchen Tebay Southbound
Orton, PenrithThe amazing team of staff at this outstanding farm shop and services helped us beyond the call of duty on Monday after Greenflag stranded us entirely without a vehicle and any means to get home. We’d been left for 14 hours in total with our dog and all our luggage. Paul (we think that was his name) the manager, tried to find us accommodation, made calls, helped us with taxi hire, supported us and showed genuine care and compassion. The staff were supportive and brought us complimentary refreshments. Paul even cleared it with the adjacent fuel station that we could sleep safely inside on the chairs overnight as a last resort. He helped us even after closing time by staying with us to check the taxi would arrive. The food is amazing, the staff have restored our faith in human kindness and we hope to visit again and enjoy the place under more positive circumstances. Thanks Paul. You are a legend! Thanks also to all the wonderful people who kept coming to check on us. The service was fantastic.
