The Rake, Bassenthwaite, Keswick⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Charming Village Pub with Fantastic Food & Friendly Service! The Sun Inn in Bassenthwaite is a delightful country pub full of character and warmth. Nestled in a peaceful village setting with views of Skiddaw, it’s the perfect spot to unwind after a day exploring the Lakes . The interior is cosy and traditional, with low ceilings, a real fire, and a welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent — we had the pizzas and sharing nachos, both packed with flavour and generous toppings. The salsa was especially good, and the churros for dessert were a real treat . There’s a great variety on the menu, including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options, and the prices are very reasonable. The staff were friendly, attentive, and happy to accommodate us even without a booking. It’s also dog-friendly throughout, which is a big plus for walkers and families. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, dinner, or just a drink in the beer garden, The Sun Inn offers a relaxed and enjoyable experience. Highly recommended — we’ll definitely be returning next time we’re in the area!

Uldale Old School, Uldale, CumbriaSpent a cold winter night on the outside here of a weekend in the Shepherds cabin, lovely & warm/hot (if to hot you can open the top part of the door) ..inside is with all you need central heating, not that you need it on as you get provided with wood for the log fire. Was really beautiful scenery. Also all towels and accessories for the built 8n shower. The most important thing was the welcoming that is you get and also The service was exceptional, Genuine and truly welcoming. I will be returning 100%

If there's anything the staff can possibly do to make you happy they will do their best and that's definitely worth a tip, food (Sunday dinner) 10/10 from me perfect.
