The Rake, Bassenthwaite, KeswickA wonderful village pub, the staff were excellent and the food delicious. Very warm and welcoming. We had two lovely meals on consecutive evenings and our two cockapoos loved lying next to the open fire. Can’t wait to return.

Uldale Old School, Uldale, CumbriaWe were ashamed to realise that we hadn't been to Mae's since Covid! We took some French friends who had never been to the UK before and were delighted to find that it is as lovely as ever. We had a delicious light lunch of sandwiches which were freshly made and tasty and filling What a great example of beautiful British cooking with a great warm welcome.

The Snooty Fox Country Inn
Uldale, WigtonWe’ve been to The Snooty Fox at least five times now and we absolutely love it. Would go as far to say it’s the best pub food I’ve ever had. The chicken and ham pie is incredible (and amazing portion size) and the burgers I’ve had have been so good. The staff are always really lovely too which makes it a pleasure to visit. We can’t wait to come back again in the Summer.
