We’ve had the Sunday roast delivered from here a couple of times based on other recommendations so we decided to pop in and see what the atmosphere was like and try something else. \n\nWe were not disappointed. The staff were welcoming, the atmosphere was cosy, traditional pub vibe with really tasty food and they don’t skimp on portions if you like a good feed. My husband finished most of his but I could not finish mine. My husband had the chicken stir fry with half rice and half chips and I had the beef goulash with rice and vegetables. Everything tasted really fresh and was served in good time and with reasonable prices. We enquired about Sunday roast and they said best to book in advance for that as the tables go fast, so needless to say we will be booking a table to try it fresh to the table.

Absolutely top notch, I couldn't recommend this place enough. Came here on whim upon ordering met the chef Damon, what a top guy. Ordered steak pie with Guinness gravy along with salt and pepper platter...the food couldn't be anymore tasty. Hat off to you guys!! Can't wait to come back ?

A group of nine work colleagues visited today. What can you say, the food was superb. Simple food, prepared, cooked and presented so well. Great portion sizes and everything cooked fresh to order. Best chips in West Cumbria. We are looking forward to our next visit.

My partner and I visited last night when staying about 5 mins away with our two dogs.
I can honestly say that this was THE BEST pub food I've ever had.
The Arancini Balls starter was gorgeous, followed by the most amazing Steak & Ale pie which was absolutely beautiful, so rich and tasty, even the accompanying chips were cooked to perfection.
The fluffiest Sticky Toffee Pudding shared for afters and we were both just so content, the food really was amazing so hats off to the friendly chef we met - so reasonably priced too.
Then we have the wonderful Julie - she was just so lovely, friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble and her knowledge of the local area was second to none.
Such a lovely local & community spirited pub even welcoming pooches in the bar area.
Once again, best most delicious pub food ever and a truly lovely welcome.
We would love to be back in the near future!

The food was excellent — easily 5 out of 5. The steak was cooked perfectly just as requested, and everything we ordered was full of flavour. Nothing was bland; every bite had real taste. Portion sizes were generous too.
The atmosphere was relaxed and not too busy, which made it feel comfortable and easygoing.
Overall, a great visit — we’ll definitely be coming back.

Wonderful find we will be back. Great value ,excellent food, lovely clean cafe. We were made very welcome and were delighted to support such a worthwhile project. So nice to see everything home made. We had a breakfast brunch and a cheese and tomato jacket potato. Both of which were delicious and well presented. Well done to everyone.

Been here a few times and I think its the best chippy I've visited hands down. Fish is always freshly cooked, and really generous portions. Staff are extremely friendly. Cash only though but there's a cash machine up the road so no issues :)

No food these days, but good selection of bar snacks including XL Cheese and the pints of Loweswater Gold are perfect, Usually another real ale is available. Service excellent. Nice crowd, like when I last drank in here in 2010. Prices very reasonable.

Searching for somewhere for lunch that will accommodate 4 adults, 2 children, a baby, a pram and 2 dogs is not easy in Whitehaven so we were delighted to find this place! The welcome was second to none, the service was friendly and helpful. Most importantly the food was delicious. We all ate everything and I took some home made bread and butter pudding home. It was the best I’ve ever tasted!

What a hidden gem. A warm and welcoming B&B a 15 min stroll to the harbour. Very comfortable, well heated spotlessly clean bedroom with a decent hot shower. So peaceful. A lovely breakfast served to order with 5 star ingredients. This was an overnight business stop but we would certainly love to return.

We popped in on a cold Tuesday when we did a panicked quick-search for dog friendly cafes to warm up, so glad we did as it was a wonderful place! They allowed our dog to sit with us, offered her water and treats! Food and drinks came out in good time and the staff were exceptional, really wonderful people! Popular place opposite the marina in Whitehaven. Not been in before as it’s always busy! A table on the terrace was free today, probably one of the hottest days of the year and many people sat outside with cocktails, it all looked good.
The food is tasty and we all enjoyed our choices sat out in the sunshine - menu offers a good range of small plates, burgers, ‘dirty fries’, salads etc.
inside was cool and air conditioned, but they were fully booked, outside had just one table, but for being busy there was a great atmosphere. Drinks took a while, but it didn’t take very long for food to arrive after placing our order and the staff were friendly, but it’s clear they are all run off their feet and dirty dishes are left lying on tables (for much longer than they should be) After our order was delivered we weren’t asked if food was ok, or if we needed anything else, so sadly they lost a star from me for this omission, but on a quieter day I’d probably give this place 5 stars all round. It was good.
