Lovely staff delicious food and quick service, you can't go wrongRhian and Ally serving today and they were particularly goodParking: Services parking free for 2hrs and paid after that, electric charging is available near the exit of the parking area. It is also shared with the hotel on the other side of the servicesWheelchair accessibility: The entire services are on one single floor with ramps up on to curbs, disabled parking is also located right out the front of the main building for ease of access.

Baldock Spice
1B Hitchin St, BaldockWe love Baldock Spice and think it's the best takeaway in the area. The food is delicious, and we particularly appreciate that most of the curries can be made vegetarian with paneer. The delivery staff, like Richard, are always friendly and helpful.

We went for an anniversary dinner and were so impressed with everything.
Every dish was amazing (beef cheeks, venison, hispi cabbage, padron peppers, focaccia, beetroot, malt ice cream and pear ice cream) with special mention for the beetroot Textures dish. Wow! This looked impressive and tasted even better!
We will be back!

The White Lion
46 High St, BaldockPopped in after a big day at Duxford American day airshow...at 8.30pm. Ordered the Tom Kha chicken soup and a pint of Baldock. The staff were friendly and efficient. The soup was a meal in itself...large, hot and served quickly. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, washed down with a local ale. Then relaxed in the cool of the beer garden as the sun went down.

The Lancer Indian Cuisine
14C High St, BaldockFabulous Indian restaurant - definitely deserves the recent award. Why this place isn't rammed packed every Wednesday and Sunday I don't know, as it's as good as the best curry houses in Birmingham,.Manchester, Leicester and Bolton (Ive eaten in most of them in these cities). Their buffet nights are definitely a bargain, given the food is so delicious and filling. We've always had excellent service here too - as good as it can ever be. Very highly recommended.

There was real milk in the fridge, something my wife prefers to the normal so-called milk.\nThe bar area was pleasant and the staff welcoming. Dinner was very good. We shared a baked camembert which was excellent and then we both had the festive burger which was delicious. Very moisty and tasty.\nBreakfast was excellent. We both had half a full English which was freshly cooked. It was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had and I am in my 70's!\nShould we return to the area we would definitely stay here again.

We asked to substitute the meats in the mango curry and the bhuna for paneer and was recommended having tandoori paneer. Our curries were delicious and well accompanied by the peshwari naan and boiled rice (recommended to us so that we could enjoy the full flavour of the curries). Service was efficient and friendly. Food came out promptly after poppadoms and was all hot. We were checked on during our meal and ordered additional drinks. The meal was followed by complimentary fresh orange slices (very refreshing) and hot towels. We will definitely be visiting again.

Templars Cross Lodge
North Rd, BaldockThis is now our second stay at Templars Cross Lodge in Baldock. We came across it by accident as a last minute stay for work we are doing in London and Cambridge, and to be honest, were quite dubious as to the consistently high ratings of every single review on TripAdvisor - but we can report they are 100% true! Sally's lodge is a perfect place to stay! It is super clean and very comfortable. If you are travelling by car, then parking is right by your room, and the station is an easy short walk. The best way to describe Sally is that she is on it! She clearly wants you to have a the best stay possible and although the accommodation is very private, she makes it clear that she is on hand (and we can testify to that with her sorting out a little alarm problem on the evening of our first stay without a quibble). What made it stand out for us is that even if you are travelling for work or for family (as I guess many people may be who stop off in Baldock) it feels like a little treat! A lovely comfy bed, super breakfast, treats and drinks all ready for you in the fridge and little breakfast cupboard, soft fluffy towels, lovely bath products and a real sense that there is no skimping, like you always hope it might be (but sadly we find often isn't). Ten out of ten from us. Book (but please not on the days we need to stay! ?).

Bombay Bistro Restaurant
8 Bell Row, BaldockOne of the best curries I have had in a long time! I'll absolutely be coming back very soon. I always have a madras, and the one I got from here was the perfect amount of spice, it was smooth and very tasty. The chicken was cooked perfectly and so was the potato in the bombay aloo. The service was fast and they were very welcoming and friendly. Very reasonable too!

4 High St, BaldockGreat place, very clean and good customer service. One of the best lamb shish I have ever had. Meats could be a bit less salty for my taste. Some more consistency with chips would be great too, sometimes they are amazing, crispy and not greasy and sometimes they are a bit soggy.

London Rd, BaldockLovely visit for a Sunday roast today. All of the staff were excellent, very friendly and efficient as soon as we arrived and we got seated quickly even though we were early. We had one roast beef and one trio roast, everything was hot, well cooked and great portion sizes. We asked for extra gravy and roast potatoes and along with three glasses of wine the bill was still only £65! Excellent value, we will be visiting again soon :)

Tesco, 58 High St, BaldockI'm giving 5 stars because at a point when I was low, they helped. I used to get boiling water for my Pot Noodle and early in the morning I'd get one of those Lemon Tarts from the day before. Always appreciated.
I really can't comment on Atmosphere as it's just like any indoor corporate space. Not cosy. Just simple.

A1, BaldockThis has been a favourite for many years but now I think it is going down .The owners are clueless about this branch ,its not a big area where 100's of buses stop ,but one were a high percentage of locals are the main people using some 2-3 times a day and more .They think they know more than anyone ,but care about nothing .Staff are changing customers unhappy .I am cutting my time going in as staff changes and prices are OTT.
