We visit this yummy place while visiting Hemel Hempstead for a weekend. Choose this place by love of Lebanese cuisine and were very pleased by the quality of food and service! This place is very welcoming and attentive from outside and atmospheric inside!
We tried a few starters and mixed grills for maincourse! Everything comes well presented, looks appetising and yummy... All the food was tasty, aromatic, and delicious. Mixed grill was super yummy,tenter, juicy, and delicious! Portions are pretty generous and well presented!
Also, would like to say thank you to all staff members as they were welcoming, friendly, and very helpful!
We would definitely recommend this place and surely would visit this lovely restaurant again!

Had a 3-day weekend in the area of Hemel Hempstead with 2 friends and we were happy that we came across this gem. We really enjoyed the local feeling being here, as it felt quite comfy and had a really good atmosphere.

We had an order of the Full English Breakfast which consisted of a number of different English foods. Each part of the breakfast was absolutely tasty. It was also a plus, the fact that our plates had such a generous portion of food that is sure to fill your stomach. It was definitely a pleasing thing to have a farewell with such good vibe.

Big thanks also to the hospitality by the basketball playing host!? She was super nice, friendly and offered nice conversations while serving our table. That made the atmosphere of being here even more delightful.

Big thank you for the welcome. This is surely a recommend if you’re ever in the area!!

Not sure why we had left it so long based upon the quality of food.\n\nThis is not your regular curry house, whilst there is more meat dishes on the menu than previously, there is still a very good selection of fish/vegetarian. The food is inspired by the Kerala region, such flavoursome food.\n\nWe had a mini chicken dosa and aubergine fry to share for a starter - ample for 3.\n\nMain courses - Tiger prawn masala, chicken pepper curry and I had the whole sea bass masala which was amazing.\n\nGreat service and very attentive staff.\n\nWe will not leave it so long before we next return !

The banquet menu is very reasonable so I would recommend this. The food was excellent too and well presented.

Very rare that a service charge is not automatically added but I guarantee you will leave a tip.

I have been eating at Wakusei since 2023. I. LOVE. IT!!!!!!!!! The food is phenomenal, beautiful and the service is quick as can be! The staff are so welcoming and I just feel so safe here.

Wakusei to me.. is not just for the holidays.. it’s for life. I’ve attened on every birthday, every friends birthday, valentines day but the best visits of all.. a random wednesday in the week.

The food is fresh and the menu is clearly detailed and descriptive. The variety is great but not too overwhelming. I don’t drink alcohol but the wine list is vast and moderately priced.

The flavours for the Japanese Soda (Ramune) are:
Original (tastes like cream soda!!), Orange, Strawberry, Lychee and Mango. I get the original each time but the Lychee one is great too.

And though I don’t eat sweet often, the dessert menu is simple but effective. I recommend the Dorayaki, incredible.

I just really love this place. I really recommend the Temaki (spicy tuna and california are my favourite) and all of the bento boxes. I did also enjoy the Pork Donburi bowl but I find teriyaki can be quite sickly sweet - no fault of theirs, just a me problem!

For birthdays there is the option for Red Velvet cake, GET IT!!!!!! It is wonderful. but.. they sing to you. so for my socially awkward crew: just hold your breathe and look at the floor.. it’s a sweet thing they’re trying to do.

Our room was very cozy and perfectly clean. The staff were fantastic – friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Breakfast was simply amazing, with several delicious options to choose from. The restaurant menu was just as impressive – tasty dishes served in generous portions. We especially recommend trying the traditional fish and chips. And as a bonus, they even serve Staropramen on tap – maybe not perfectly poured, but still, they serve it! ?

We have just had our anniversary meal here, the whole experience was amazing! A beautiful restaurant with a wonderful,up market and welcoming atmosphere. It’s an incredibly clean and tidy restaurant and the service and food was exceptional with a blend of flavours and lots on offer on the menu, they even amended a dish for my wife who is vegetarian, the k2 chicken tikka masala was one of the best masala I have ever had. The price was very fair for this kind of quality. The owner and manager was very kind, welcoming and generous as were the staff and service overall.
We will definitely be coming back again in the future and highly recommend to others especially for an authentic and higher end feeling Indian restaurant.

Very nice food, a bit pricey but what establishment isn't these days due to cost? Food was very nice and would visit again, only advice I would give is that we ordered £43 worth of food and were given 1 dip, for the price we paid should have had 3 or 4 dips.

First time in Hemel and had some time to kill. Came for a Cheeky pint on the off chance. And the beer was immaculate. One of the best Madrid’ I’ve had in a long time. Lines are well kept and you can tell glasses are clean as no bubbles are sticking to the side of the glass. If you want a good pint this is the place to go.

We have been ordering from best kebab for a while now, i am not a great fan of kebabs but oh my how fresh and beautiful there food is my husband always has a plain fenner burger, they will probably know who we are as he orders so often haha, the staff are all ao lovely and polite, amd even when buay happy to take our card payment over the phone, i have a lamb mixed shish kebab and have tried every kebab shop in Hemel and you just can not beat this place, after our food last night i think they deserve the best review

This was my first time in the New Happy Garden in Queens Square and I was not disappointed, neither was my wife.
The 'reception' is a bit stark with unpainted wood framework but as the old adage goes, you can't judge a book by its cover.
I had vegetables in black bean sauce, my wife had beef in no black bean sauce, we shared a special fried rice and some small vegetable spring rolls.
The food came before the quoted time, which is a well known ploy of all manner of retailers, not just purveyors of food, as the customer is already impressed prior to testing the goods.
The food was delicious. Not too much, not too little, not too spicy etc.
Based on our experience at the weekend, I imagine that we will be back but then there are so many from which to choose.

Popped into The Full House for a quick drink and a bite to eat, and ended up staying longer than planned – mostly because of the absolute legend that is Conor East. From the moment we walked in, he was on it. Friendly, efficient, and somehow managed to serve drinks, clear tables, and make us laugh all at once. I don’t know if he’s a bartender, a stand-up comedian, or both – but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him on Live at the Apollo next week.

He had that rare gift of making you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. He cracked jokes, gave top recommendations (still thinking about that pitcher…), and handled a busy floor like a pro with a smile on his face the entire time.

Give this man a raise, a medal, and possibly his own TV show. Cheers Conor – you made a standard trip to spoons feel like a night out with mates!

Millennium Kebabs is always my go-to. I usually order the donner meat and chips with red cabbage only, and it’s always spot on. The portion sizes are generous, the meat is cooked well, and the chips are fresh every time.

Staff are quick and polite, and even when it’s busy the order comes out fast. They always get it right, which makes a big difference compared to other takeaways I’ve tried.
