We used to love the last Marley resturant as so quaint,but understand its good that its expanded. Food was lovely-as always! Vegan choices too. Staff were all so friendly (as always!) Food fresh! Good theres a large waiting area with seating where you can enjoy a drink while waiting for your table.

‘An impromptu lunch with my husband and Granddaughter as we wandered past….Warmly welcomed in ?’…Food was delicious ,and such generous portions ,even if extra dips or bread needed, it was quickly provided….wonderful conversation with the owner…who showed such a passion for this wonderful restaurant ✨…Of course food is important… but to create a truly memorable experience it has to include caring and attentive front of house …bar staff.. etc ..(the whole team ,and this restaurant provided it all)…the new decor is colourful fun and tasteful ?…Folkestone has many eateries…but today for an impromptu stop off…and if you love Mexican food…it was Fabulous…?? ✨

We are from London and we visit Folkestone quite often. So glad we got told about this place! The best cod and chips I’ve had in a while. Will most definitely be back!

El Cortador Tapas Bar

Always rated this establishment. However. Very dissappointed to find that it wasc cosed on the bank holiday weekend. I appreciate that businesses are struggling an of course eveyone needs a break. However. From the number of people queing outside other eateries. They must have lost a fortune by choosing not open.

Sandy's

Staggeringly good cod and chips. Incredibly pleasant and personable staff.
Food cooked fresh while we waited. Best curry sauce I’ve ever tasted. They had one our favourite ciders in stock in cans and this is the cleanest, brightest, shiniest, nicest chip shop I’ve ever seen or been in. Cracking pickled eggs too. Thank you for completing our day out and making our evening. I look forward to coming back for another visit. Thank you and kindest regards.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Mariner

Under a new management since early 2025 with a pub on the ground floor and restaurant (white table cloths) overlooking the harbour on the 1st floor. We received a very attentive 5* service and the both the fish pie and the sea bass dish were delicious. The Mariner is venue for live music on a fortnight basis.

The Radnor Arms

Went in for a special occasion as it was my partners birthday and could not have been treated better. The waiter Ben was a particular highlight, he was so polite and charismatic and made us feel like family. The food tasted wonderful (one of the best scotch eggs I've ever had) and the portions were more than generous.

Once again Ben deserves all the praise.

Papa's Fish Restaurant and Takeaway

On my travels I've been to various fish and restaurants up and down the country.
But, I must say. This place gets the best ranking for me.
Food cooked perfectly, brilliant friendly service and good prices.
If you're in the area and like a good fish and chips meal.
You've found a perfect (plaice) to eat.
Happy to recommend.

Zen Kafe

Lovely, beautiful, cool (air con) restaurant, very attentive and knowledgeable staff who were great with kids (especially the female- presenting staff member), good prices, very tasty food that was cooked fresh, but arrived quickly (the kids' food was put through even before we asked!), and was nice and hot (temperature wise). Very happy with our meal and service, and will definitely return.

Lighthouse Champagne Bar

Stunning little venue, sitting inside an old train carriage. Beautifully decorated and thought out

Finn's

Lovely bar. Owner is absolutely delightful, food is really impressive and the cocktails are good and strong :) the atmosphere is also really chilled and friendly. 10/10 recommend!

VIET STREET

Best Vietnamese food we have had, and that includes in Vietnam. The spring rolls are not to be missed, and the bone broth in the pho... chef's kiss. We never miss a chance to eat here.

Noiy's Noodles at The Hope.

Noiy's is attached to the excellent Hope Inn, which is no smoking everywhere. Food is delivered to table where ever you sit. The free sprinkles and sauces add a great deal.

The inside pub area is down steps from all access points. The garden is accessible from the side road. An accessable toilet is located in Noiy's which is accessible from the front and has some tables.

Green Spice Tandoori

Last night me and my friend visited this restaurant randomly searching for good home Indian meal then we find this restaurant its really so good staff are so polite and helpful we just walk in n they gave us a table immediately and we ordered 3 curry mushroom bhindi daal and they all r amazing tasty bhindi was star of the meal we packed for morning also and we eat some chapati and salty Lassi its worth it to spend ur money on good food !♥️♥️♥️

Aspendos Folkestone

I always love aspendos however when I recently visited it blew me away. They have a weekday special which is 9.95 for 2 courses. The service was superb - ordered both drinks and food within a couple minutes. I highly suggest the lamb casserole as it has unbelievable flavour

Black Bull

The staff were very friendly and on hand for any questions/needs. The deals were amazing value and portion sizes, I span the deal wheel and got my main for free! I would definitely recommend and will be back :)

Market Square

Had a fantastic time with my family here.
The food was fab (thanks to the chef/s) and reasonably priced.
Didn’t have to wait long either, even though there seemed to be only one young lady working the front (it’s quite a large venue). Thank you Charlotte! We asked her name when we left because she was so lovely! ☺️ We will be back!!

Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill Folkestone

Very good and tasty food. Our steaks were perfect. Staff ist very friendly and helpfull. Desserts were also great. Can highly recomment it. Good selection of wines.

The Famous Ship Inn

Impromptu dinner while staying in Folkestone for one night and we absolutely loved it!
Food was delicious, stunning view of the sea and staff so friendly! We will 100% return next time we are in Folkestone

The Harbour Inn

By pure luck we came across this pub/restaurant when exploring Folkestone on our holiday and we were so impressed by the food, service and ambience that we kept coming back throughout our break. The oysters were really fresh and super tasty.
The muscles were indulgent, creamy and moreish. I also tried the chicken and leek pie, which was impeccably presented, homemade and packed full of filling. We really can't fault this place; the service was top notch and we felt very much at home.I’m

Central Fish Bar

Food was absolutely spot on, cod had an amazing batter,fish fresh and flakey. Chips were perfect chippy chips, the size of the large is worth every penny. Naughty battered mars bar to round up a great takeaway Bosh! Highly recommend Central fish Bar, amazing customer service, genuinely great quality food and doesn’t break the bank.

DAOW'S KITCHEN

Delicious food that is made to order.
If you're looking for a romantic dinner out, this isn't the place to go to. However, the authentic Asian taste makes up for it.
Best Asian in the area, that's for sure.

Lucky Chip

This is by far the best burger I’ve ever had! The fries and the tots were amazing and the flavour of the cream soda bbq sauce was INCREDIBLE!
I would 100% recommend and I will be back!

Sunshine grill

Im a local and visited here for the first time today. What an absolute gem of a find. Absolutely beautiful inside, comfy seating area, clean toilets, friendly staff with a huge menu to suit all tastes. Had lunch so too early for cocktails, however they did sound and look amazing. Our food was delicious, fresh and reasonably priced. Would absolutely bring my family and friends here.

Pizza Prima Take Away

Always had the best pizza here, never had issues. Pizza is not greasy in the slightest and is made to order very quickly. Lovely service ? definitely coming back ❤️Vegetarian options: Very good choice of vegi pizzas

Review: Lemon Leaf Gurkha Restaurant – Folkestone, Kent

Visited Lemon Leaf Gurkha tonight and was warmly looked after by a lovely young lady named Nuna. Service was friendly and attentive throughout.

I started with two crisp poppadoms and a well-balanced chutney tray — a great opener. As there wasn’t a perfect vegetarian option on the menu for me, the staff happily accommodated my request: a custom dish of paneer and spinach in a madras-style sauce, paired with pillow rice. Honestly, it was absolutely delicious — rich, warming, and full of flavour.

The restaurant itself has real potential. While the food and service are spot on, the ambience could use a little uplift to match. I’d suggest they take a look at Masala Magic in Bromsgrove — a great example of how combining a vibrant bar and restaurant atmosphere can really elevate the dining experience.

Rocksalt

My first visit a table for four was very enjoyable great atmosphere lively a little too loud but we are a chatty crowd. Great choice of wines and beers although rather on the pricey side not many sold by the glass unfortunately had to buy a whole bottle at £75, but it was nice. The food was very good as a vegetarian. I do eat some fish and there was plenty to choose from the scallops were extremely nice as a starter and the tempura prawns as my main course again was exquisite did enjoy the sides especially the cabbage done very exquisitely. The food was hot freshly cookedand extremely tasty. We will return.

Bay Tree Bar & Grill

Fantastic afternoon tea. Warm welcome, great service and a perfect selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Choice of tea or coffee. We added cocktails, which were lovely. Stylish decor. Overall a wonderful experience with fantastic service. Highly recommend.

The Pullman Folkestone

Highly recommend The Pullman, the pies are delicious! All of the staff are friendly and welcoming. Thanks to Dan for looking after us, we had a lovely meal and will return again soon.

The Valiant Sailor

If you love Sunday lunch then look no further. Good quality meat, fresh veg and friendly service. If your in the area would definitely recommend a visit. Top marks chef was as good as my chef makes me at home.

In all fairness I only bought a coffee as I’d eaten breakfast in our hotel before we came to the Chunnel. My coffee was very good and again I must say very hot, and tasty. I did notice the food that was on offer and to be honest I wouldn’t have eaten anything there the food looked awful.

Starbucks Coffee

Very busy Starbucks indeed, but the queue always goes down quickly. Lovely drinks and service from all the great staff thanks Victoria my dry cappuccino was excellent ❤️

The Gatekeeper

Pleasant visit for a drink in the garden. The tables did lack attention with many empty glasses everywhere which in my opinion deserved a one star deduction. Would visit again though

The British Lion

Excellent staff always polite and helpful at the busiest times. Food is great. Had the boozy beef and apple pie custard which were amazing. The decor is brilliant. ?

The Beer Shop Folkestone

I like craft beer so when I saw a beer shop then thought why not try it.
Not doubt nice bar in the centre of town offering a selection of craft beers. But I visited the variety wasn't that cool. Still had a pint, enjoy the atmosphere and move on. Good service though. Hope be back again.

Little Switzerland

Had breakfast at Little Switzerland and overall it was very good value for money. The place was quite busy, which meant service was a little on the slow side, but the staff kept us well informed and made sure we were looked after. Food was tasty, portions generous, and the setting added to the experience. Would happily return.

The Royal Cheriton

Oh my god... what a hidden wonderful gem of a pub... Food amazing. Had hunter's chicken, chips ,salad and corn on the cob... £8.50 amazing... drinks.. amazing prices, Ice breaker x2 and a hazy IPA. Brilliant price quality beer. The service was amazing. Lady behind the bar was helpful, informative, funny, more than professional. And to chef. Your food was spot on, filling, amazingly made, well priced, brought out within time,hot ? ? ?. I can't recommend this place more.. pls pls if your in Folkestone area. Please find this wonderful gem of a place

Annapurna Nepalese Restaurant

“I had the pork chilli, thukpa, a bottle of Gorkha beer, and a pint and half of Cobra beer — everything was so tasty and authentic. The service was excellent, especially from one lovely sister who served me and made me feel like I was in a 5-star restaurant. The food and hospitality made me feel like I was back in Nepal. Highly recommend Annapurna for proper Nepali flavours and warm vibes!”

We got takeaway here and it was delicious.

The staff were very pleasant and the food was incredible. Especially the curry sauce!

Very clean and beautiful establishment. Located in a beautiful part of town. Had Issac and Lindsey as our wait staff and was nothing but kind and friendly. Couldn’t recommend anymore.

Papa Johns Pizza

The buttery special garlic dip will forever be my favourite. Shame they are not the standard anymore. Take away prices are really good, delivery is overpriced as everywhere.

Super Pizza

Our order arrived super quick, everything was hot and fresh. They even packed extra dips! I ordered just one and got 4 instead! I liked the pizza, it lacked a bit of seasoning tho.

Rosemont Restaurant & Cocktail Bar

So finally we got time to visit this place and on our special occasion as well. What a gem, we can't believe we missed so much already. The food was to die for, the atmosphere was great and staff was friendly. Very clean and sleek look. Cocktails was absolutely amazing. I mean I am a chef myself and I am very plesently surprised. I will definitely be recommending you to family and friends and we will visit you soon. Thank you to the whole team for yesterday ?❤️

The Royal Oak

What a fabulous old school pub with such friendly service and delicious food. We arrived on pub quiz night to discover food was take away only.. no problem.. have the take away menu. As I was GF the chef was amazing and offered a great alternative which was delicious.. even had a GF beer on tap.. bliss! The reviews are spot on.. great service, friendly locals and fab good!

An absolute gem tucked away in Folkestone, excellent selection of refreshing beers (try the Bouverie Pils on a summers day), great menu variety, proper friendly and helpful staff. Could spend many hours here....

Tip's Wok Box

I've been visiting this place for a couple of years now and I adore their pad thai. They have a decent menu which also caters to allergens. Their food is always hot, fresh and tasty. The staff are happy to customise orders to preference. I also enjoy watching them prep and cook the order. They're reasonably priced and the staff are friendly.

i feel like the vibe here is amazing, absolutely zero workplace tension and everything works extremely smoothly here. if you are in folkestone i 100% recommend to come here and help support a local small business!!!

Mr Whippet’s Cafe

Having embarked on a big walk from Capel Le Ferne this morning, I stopped in at this lovely little cafe to mark my turnaround point. Coffee was FANTASTIC - best one I've had in the 3 weeks this Aussie has been in the UK. They also serve lovely looking cakes and biscuits but am very glad I ordered bacon and two cheese sourdough toastie - absolutely delicious. What an absolute gem of a place, right in the heart of the lovely seaside village of Sandgate. How lucky for the locals and definitely worth finding if you're not from around here. They've even learned to make a Melbourne Magic!

The Butt Of Sherry

Found the staff to be very helpful and accommodating so thank you The Butt of Sherry ?
We were 6 adults, 2 babies and a large dog booked for Sunday lunch on 31 August.

We were put in a back room with a sturdy spacious table. Not squashed together which always helps.

The Sunday roast was excellent and plentiful.

Lots of good fresh veg, good roast potatoes so Well Done ?

Thank you once again.

It may not be the fanciest of establishments but its honest and very good food.

Sunshine Folkestone Bistro

Service was good.
All the bell ? chiming from tables requiring service can be distracting and annoying after a while. Burger was cooked well and the fries ? where good. Too many onions on the serving board (coleslaw, red onion in burger and onion rings) and the serving board had gaps around it that had old food stuck in it. ?

A bit overpriced for the food being average i would have paid around 11/12 rather than 15/16 for the burger.

The Chambers

Absolutely fantastic coffee. The place is so welcoming and the playlist is on point. Only visiting folkstone, but I'll be back again soon and will be back for a coffee!

The Boat House

Where else would you want to sit and relax on a sunny day. You might even see a seal pop it's head up! Great food, sensibly priced, friendly staff and perfect view

Orchard Lane Coffee House

We were looking for solid specialty coffee when we were in the area and this didn’t disappoint. We had such a great experience we came back again for breakfast the next day. We also got the beans we enjoyed the most to brew at home. Food wise, we regretted not trying the toastie, but the pastries were pretty good. Personally, I enjoyed the cruffin (strawberries & cream mmmm!) more than the dense buns.

On our first visit, a very sweet barista kindly gave our little one marshmallows when he requested for it in his babyccino (unfortunately she was not around on our second visit). Nevertheless, service was friendly and efficient. Come early if you want a table!

The Dog House

Amazing food and service. Literally the best full-English breakfast (Dog House Large Plate) you'll find anywhere, and very reasonably priced considering the high-quality ingredients used. Highly recommended.

The Ship Inn

Just spent 2 nights at the Ship, Trish was fantastic and very welcoming as were her staff. Rooms were great value and such a fantastic location. We had 2 rooms booked as we had a family funeral to attend. Trish went far and beyond and gave us a lift into town as it was heavily raining. Thanks for a great stay. Geordie

Kipps' Alehouse

Surprising selection of international and UK craft beers, something for every taste. Cool location and friendly staff. Was delighted to see some Belgian beers on tap! Only not giving 5/5 as interior/furniture could do with some tlc. Will be back though.

Himalayan Cafe & Takeaway

What a great find. We were staying at Hoday Inn Express on a Monday night when everything seemed closed. We came across this place, which offered us a very warm welcome and sat.us down... there were lots of nepalese people, always a good sign. The food was frankly delicious. We will hopefully go again.

Little Fish And Chips

Went to this chip shop as they have take away & sit down. The savoury slice serves quality food at unbeatable prices.
The lady who runs the place is always very pleasant. Has a great deal on coffee and a bacon roll. Try it, you will not be disappointed.

Skuba Bar and Bistro

I’ve never eaten here but if you want to enjoy a great atmosphere and live music this place is rocking! The staff work so hard and I truly hope management recognise that. Everything is so efficient. From serving drinks, clearing glasses, serving food (what I have seen, not experienced) and just generally keeping the place running. A great bar, with atmosphere, good service and an ethos of fun! Totally recommend!

The Britannia

Lovely little pub, set between Cheriton and Sandgate. Jenny and Pete are great hosts who make you feel really welcome. Good range of drinks, reasonably priced (haven't eaten there yet). The pub has a lot of music events too. We'll be back!

The Samuel Peto - JD Wetherspoons

One of the more unusual spoons, despite the fact that most are in buildings with interesting histories.
The food and drink is standard spoons fare. Mostly very good and all good value.
This particular building is a great place to visit due to the interior - it used to be a Methodist church. It has retained much of the church feel, minus the pews. They've even kept some organ pipes.
A great place to visit for the unique interior for a spoons.

Tesco Cafe

Kid-friendliness: Great atmosphere when you arrive. All the way to your order, the staff make you feel welcome.Parking: Good parking options for families, disabled and everyone else.Dietary restrictions: I can't drink cows milk, so I am happy with the oat milk.

Bob's Seafood

Love it here weather its sunny or raining they always happy to serve with a smile ? recommend ? well priced for the effort it takes to deliver amazing fresh seafood.

Amazing fish and chips from here. Use it every month at least once. Beautifully cooked food. Always cooked to order so you might have to wait at busy times. Amazing!!

Harbour Coffee Co

Best coffee for miles. I always have a latte when I am out and they serve the best ever. Not just hot milk, but still a good coffee flavour. Great place with friendly staff.

The Cat & Custard Pot

Lovely quite, remote pub. Background music. Very reasonably priced drinks. Don't serve food anymore but that is fine. If you are looking for a cosy pub that is excellent value, You must visit.

The Beano Cafe

Great place to eat on Cheriton High Street near the bus stop. I had a small breakfast which was tasty and cooked lovely, nice and hot, the egg was nice and tasty, along with the sausage and bacon, and beans. The fried bread was very nice too. Comes with a cup of tea. Good price for a breakfast £7.50.
The service was very quick and the staff nice and friendly. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Food For Thought - Thai Restaurant

What a fantastic little restaurant....why? First and foremost, the food is superb. Authentic ingredients and flavours at very reasonable prices, not to mention the portion sizes are enormous!Secondly the owners are so friendly, you really feel welcome and that they are genuinely interested in your opinions of the dishes.They open lunchtimes for Thai and English food options and evenings at the end of the week for Thai only.I can't recommend them highly enough, I left feeling so satisfied and with a smile on my face.

Pulp 27 Coffee Shop & Cafe

The service here was great. It's a small cafe at the corner of the road. They serve paninis, jacket potatoes, sandwiches etc. Its not too pricey, and sure you could probably find something fancier at a higher price, but the panini I ordered was just what I needed for lunch. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, would recommend for anyone in need of a pit stop.

Golden Arrow

I came here as part of a band to do a gig and was very pleased with the reception we got. The staff were lovely and helpful and the atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. We are definitely going to go back for a drink and probably food as it looked really nice. There's plenty of parking and a pool table and stuff. Altogether we really enjoyed our visit and we're glad we came.
