145 Frodingham Rd, ScunthorpeTook me and young daughter here for lunch after shopping.She can be fussy, but she polished off a Forrest Gump (simple :) cheese burger) with fries.My own burger was delicious, with all the trimmings and some of the best curry chips I've ever tasted. All food arrived very quickly.Owner is a top bloke too, so basically no complaints, and we'll be back with the rest of the clan soon enough.Highly recommended!

139 High St, ScunthorpeOrdered a quarter pounder cheese burger with salad and a side of chips. The burger was average at the best but the chips was delicious. The lady serving was very nice and welcoming. I wanted to pay on card but she said they prefered cash there is a free use cash point literally across from the business. I ate inside the shop, overall quite good also there's a nice restaurant room on the right of the shop. Worth a try for sure.

1 High St, Burringham, ScunthorpeCame to Take a Gander for a meal tonight for my daughters 18th birthday, and have to say what a absolute fantastic place it is, its so beautiful inside, the atmosphere is amazing. The food was delicious, I had the fillet steak stroganoff and it was to die for, it was cooked to perfection. Everyone fully enjoyed there meals, the Oero Brownie is out of this world something very special about the place. The Staff are super friendly, helpful, chatty and all had lovely smiles on there faces. I would definitely be recommending Take a Gander to friends and family, we will absolutely be coming again. Thank you again for a wonderful time.

The service straight from the off was polite and tentative throughout.
The selection of food was excellent. The taste was even better. Portion sizes we're unbelievable, and more than enough for just the 2 of us.
For what we ordered, the pricing was remarkable. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable, tasty meal. Would definitely recommend

And table service.\nI would recommend the onion rings I think that they are the best around.\nAlso Michaela and the rest of the staff are great always.

You can also see after each question which teams answered correctly the fastest!
We had some drinks and a couple of side dishes (chips and onion rings) which were all great - good service from the staff and the whole place was clean and not too busy. Just what you want from a local pub.

Luneberg Way, ScunthorpeCame here on Saturday with my mum and dog and the staff were SO friendly, they are making arrangements for dogs to be allowed inside but there is a covered seating area outside with heaters so wasn’t an issue. Guy behind the bar brought our drinks out to us, and came back with a free dog ice cream, was blown away with the kindness and customer service here. Would defo come back and food was lovely ☺️

This is first time eating Indian food in Scunthorpe too as I was reluctant, based on other cuisines that have been of very poor quality. I chose small portions thinking they would be a tasting portion considering the price. Needless to say I could have fed a village for very little and ordered far too much, even after giving some to the neighbour, I’ll be eating for days to come. The food was very substantial, wholesome, and palatable. I only ordered 2 papadam so wasn’t expecting any pickles or chutneys/dips. However, they blessed me with extra and dips to try, which were all really nice. The delivery driver was happy, smiley and chatty. Maybe he was secretly laughing for all the food I ordered (facepalm) I do wonder if they would make home made Ras Malai if ordered in advanced?

Portion sizes were plentiful and delivery was in good time. Delivery driver was extremely friendly and helpful also adding that to get a cheaper takeaway to order straight from the website rather than through just eat. Very impressed all round with this service, and will be sure to order from here again soon.

We had a fabulous evening and all of the guests have been commenting on how lovely the venue is and how amazing the food was. Jenna was brilliant in working with me to make sure everything was planned perfectly for the day, and also coordinated getting the cake, balloons etc all set up ready so I didn’t have anything to worry about on the day except arriving and having a blast. The service was fantastic sith attentive staff keeping us topped up with drinks and the menu was very good indeed. We decided to both go for the cow and chicken burger and was not disappointed. Firstly the size of the portions were huge! And the quality of produce definitely stood out. Both the beef and the chicken was delicious and the thick cut chips were perfectly cooked the side salad and fresh coleslaw was fantastic and to top it all off 2 huge onion rings. Stuffed is a understatement but we managed to split a sticky toffee pudding and custard. Needless to say we haven't eaten for the rest of the day ?. We will definitely be returning to try other items from the menu in the future for sure. Tje views over the river are beautiful on a clear sunny day and we sat outside enjoying the weather. The overall look of the inside was lovely too very clean and modern. The car park is limited but we had no issue finding a place.

The Chancel, Cambridge Ave, Scunthorpe1st time going to Chancel pub for food and it won't be the last. Just had the best chicken bhuna of my life(freshly made may I add) and I've had a few ?. Service was spot on really polite and attentive staff. Me and the wife had a starter to share and the 2 chicken bhuna's (which also came with rice,skin on chips and a naan bread) a couple of pints and a pint of coke and spent just under £40.
Would highly recommend.

The flavours of the food are nice but everything is a little over cooked in my opinion. the chicken was so crispy it hurt to chew. Also tried the kebab meat which was one of the best locally. The portions on both were very generous. The service is friendly with a welcoming atmosphere to a shop that is spotless. My father had a latte but we were told there were no long latte spoons to stir his sugar in so he had to use a fork as the normal spoon was too small.\nNo triple cooked chips to go with fish and chips so were offered other options, but, as my son-in-law chose truffle and Parmesan instead, we were charged extra. Didn’t realise this until I looked at receipt a second time. Didn’t think we should have been charged the extra as they didn’t have the chips he wanted originally.\nOverall, a pleasant evening.

I have been privileged to forge good friendships with staff and customers. They make 'going to work' enjoyable and I know other regulars feel just the same. I have heard it said that the coffees are somewhat secondary to the good feel and community spirit present within the shop!I find the speed and quality of service to be of the the highest order. All staff members are personable and friendly. They are customer focused and totally in tune with customer needs.On a more practical level, the tables are always clean and the internet is speedy and reliable; ideal for me trying to run an accountancy business without office premises.The team is a credit to the town of Scunthorpe and I wish them all very well.

Sitting inside is fairly inconvenient as the chairs aren't always up and you have to pay more if you're eating in, so I'd recommend taking out and eating at St. John's or somewhere else.

1 High St, Burringham, ScunthorpeCame to Take a Gander for a meal tonight for my daughters 18th birthday, and have to say what a absolute fantastic place it is, its so beautiful inside, the atmosphere is amazing. The food was delicious, I had the fillet steak stroganoff and it was to die for, it was cooked to perfection. Everyone fully enjoyed there meals, the Oero Brownie is out of this world something very special about the place. The Staff are super friendly, helpful, chatty and all had lovely smiles on there faces. I would definitely be recommending Take a Gander to friends and family, we will absolutely be coming again. Thank you again for a wonderful time.

The Ferry Boat Bar and Kitchen
9 South St, West Butterwick, ScunthorpeWe were passing and decided to pop in for lunch, so glad we did. The service was fantastic sith attentive staff keeping us topped up with drinks and the menu was very good indeed. We decided to both go for the cow and chicken burger and was not disappointed. Firstly the size of the portions were huge! And the quality of produce definitely stood out. Both the beef and the chicken was delicious and the thick cut chips were perfectly cooked the side salad and fresh coleslaw was fantastic and to top it all off 2 huge onion rings. Stuffed is a understatement but we managed to split a sticky toffee pudding and custard. Needless to say we haven't eaten for the rest of the day ?. We will definitely be returning to try other items from the menu in the future for sure. Tje views over the river are beautiful on a clear sunny day and we sat outside enjoying the weather. The overall look of the inside was lovely too very clean and modern. The car park is limited but we had no issue finding a place.

My beef was cooked to perfection – tender, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken with Greek salad, which was fresh, vibrant, and absolutely delicious. The consistency of quality here is remarkable. This truly is a hidden gem, and I would not hesitate to recommend it.

The mixed grill was excellent value for money and the Horseshoe Doughnut was out of this world. \nOur waitress for the evening, JoJo was absolutely lovely, very attentive and looked after us with superb professionalism. \n\nHighly recommended.

We’ve done a few taster menus including one with Claude Bosi and this was up with the best. Highlights included the chicken taco and the halibut with kohl rabi and clams - just divine. Mikaela looked after us perfectly.
Fine dining is not cheap, but in terms of value, this was outstanding.

Ashby Rd, ScunthorpeQuiz night on Monday evening - we didn't play because we just went to meet friends, but it looked like a great quiz, really interactive with loads of different sections and all the questions come up on the screen. You can also see after each question which teams answered correctly the fastest!
We had some drinks and a couple of side dishes (chips and onion rings) which were all great - good service from the staff and the whole place was clean and not too busy. Just what you want from a local pub.

Holme Hall, Holme Ln, ScunthorpeWe hosted my sons 3rd birthday party at The Pink Pig, he loves this place so it was the obvious choice.
We opted for the private hire options which meant we had the all the play areas to ourselves.
All the children had a ball, loved the food and any allergies were catered for no questions asked.
Feedback from parents and children was that is was the ‘best party ever’!! And the children all had the best nights sleep that evening ?.

Luneberg Way, ScunthorpeCame here on Saturday with my mum and dog and the staff were SO friendly, they are making arrangements for dogs to be allowed inside but there is a covered seating area outside with heaters so wasn’t an issue. Guy behind the bar brought our drinks out to us, and came back with a free dog ice cream, was blown away with the kindness and customer service here. Would defo come back and food was lovely ☺️

The service straight from the off was polite and tentative throughout.
The selection of food was excellent. The taste was even better. Portion sizes we're unbelievable, and more than enough for just the 2 of us.
For what we ordered, the pricing was remarkable. All in all, it was a thoroughly enjoyable, tasty meal. Would definitely recommend

38 Newland Ave, ScunthorpeFirst class food and service. The fish was cooked to perfection and unlike most chip shops here, it had that lovely fresh taste and not laden with grease. Also tried the kebab meat which was one of the best locally. The portions on both were very generous. The service is friendly with a welcoming atmosphere to a shop that is spotless. Nice to find a proper chippy.
