3 Netherley Pl, BallaterOur friends suggested that we all visit on a recent weekend in Ballater. It is a fab place. Good service, great food, nice atmosphere. My only regret is not ordering the scallops - someone had them on the table next to us and they looked delicious. I guess you’d need to book ahead, it was full on the night that we went. We live near the coast and I wish there was a nice seafood restaurant in our area. Totally recommend!

The Highlanders Bakehouse
Ben Avon, Crathie, BallaterI would give this more stars if I could! Rowies (butteries) were out of this world and the chocolate and hazelnut swirl was to die for! Don't pass this place by without a stop off you won't regret it! Will be back for sure. Staff lovely and everything cooked fresh by the owner. Seats outside and inside to eat your takeaway surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Very reasonably priced!

Scottish breakfast: expected more from this for the price, was kinda mediocre and the portion was small for the price (£13). If it was £7/8 for what I got I would have been okay with it.
Super friendly staff however. Made you feel right at home!

The Green Inn
9 Victoria Rd, BallaterFrom the ambiance, the beautiful atrium, the smooth-jazz played for background music, and the attentive service, to the quality of the 'house' red wine, the salad, the tomato/red-lentils soup, the cheesy-garlic pizza bread and last but not least - the perfect lamb dish, it was an over-the-top experience. Highly recommended, and will definitely come back.

47 Bridge St, BallaterWe stopped here for takeaway sandwiches before a hike. Beautiful cafe and store with very friendly staff. Excellent price (less than £10) for a sandwich, crisps, tray bake, and drink. Highly recommend if you’re in Ballater!

The Bothy Ballater
43 Bridge St, BallaterOk for a quick stop for a lite bite or tea and coffee. Tables are very close to each other and so even though wheel chair access is available there is no room at the tables. Most crockery used is chipped in some way.

Clachan Grill
5 Bridge Square, BallaterThe Clachan Grill is a lovely restaurant. It's located in what we feel is the prettiest town in the Cairngorms. From the moment you walk in and you are greeted you are treated like royalty. We took our overseas guest here for a Sunday lunch and it didn't disappoint. Roast Beef was on the Sunday Roast menu and it was world class. The steaks were also a hit as always. We love coming here, great value, little to almost no wait time to be served and we will be back for sure very soon.
