Hidden River Cafe, Longtown, CarlisleThe food was excellent! Being a fussy vegetarian I was over the moon with what the chef made me , a lovely vegetable wellington. My friends food was also delicious. Would highly recommend.The staff are so friendly too .

The Tavern
High St, Longtown, CarlislePopped in with the dogs after a long day walking in the hills. World Cup on tv, good banter, lovely pint of John Smiths and treats and water for the dogs. Thank you.

Briscoburn Business Park, Whitesike, LongtownIt was really truck park I used where the diner is located rather than the diner itself which was unfortunately closed. First of all the positives:-1. Large clean car park in a good state of repair.2. Quite location full of logging lorries. No fridges at time of visit or road noise.3. Providing you have food with you probably as good a location as you are going to get.4. Owner chatty, friendly and helpful.Negatives:-5. If you are paying cheap although for most drivers will use snap.Negatives:-1. Some distance for overnight parking to either a shop or food. Long town a mile away.2. Facilities basic one shower and toilet facilities. As previously stated if you have a stocked fridge and microwave it's probably all you need.
