Curry house
3 High St, ChardThis restaurant is both a busy takeaway serving mainly Chard and the surrounding villages. There are about 10 spaces to dine in- House. Sunday and Thursday they have a special banquet night ( good value). I enjoyed Tarkha Dhal ( excellent flavour and quality(, a nice garlic Naan bread). My main dish of chicken Korai was fresh chicken not frozen with a rich spicy flavour served with Pillau rice. Great service very friendly gents. Cash only.

Domino's Pizza - Chard
East St, ChardNot sure what atmosphere you get from inside a Dominos bit the pizzas are always piping hot, and most of the time the pizzas are ready to collect on time. I don't mind a delay as its interesting watching the. Being made.

The Cotley Inn
Wambrook, ChardThis is probably our favourite pub, we have visited twice to break our journey to Cornwall, each time has been absolutely excellent. We stayed in the same room which is always welcoming and cosy, super comfy bed and sofa. Attention to detail is excellent, personalised welcome message, home made sweets and fresh milk delivered to your door each morning as well as a larder of treats just round the corner from the room. Our meal this time was as good as it gets delicious lamb and seabass, there is a great atmosphere in the pub and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. Well done Team Cotley! We will be back as soon as we can!

Five Senses Café & Restaurant
19 Holyrood St, ChardFirst time here and definitely won’t be our last. Super friendly owners, great service, tasty food and dog friendly. Lots of happy regular customers seated which always makes for a good atmosphere too. Cakes in the chiller looked lush, so bought a few home to try. The Portuguese Tart and chocolate cakes were scrumptious.

27 Holyrood St, ChardA rough and ready cafe where you might be the only person who doesn't speak Portuguese. However staff were friendly and the food was exceptional. The Village Bakery
26 Holyrood St, ChardPopped in for a coffee while visiting Chard. Thought we would try the cakes as looked great. Mum has to have gluten free, and although they had only one type left she said it was great. I had a cherry and ginger tart, which was amazing. I’ve eaten all over the world Brisbane, Homg Kong, San Francisco, New York, Paris, and I can honestly say this was me of my top 5 cakes of all time.

The Bell
11 Church St, Winsham, ChardWe called in for a drink whilst out walking and found it to be a very good place. Nice little village, too.
Good beers at a sensible price, a proper games room with a pool table, darts, and skittles. If we get in the area again, we would go again.
Give it a go if you are visiting the area.
I didn't rate the food as we didn't eat.

49-51 Fore St, ChardWe unexpectedly found ourselves in Chard on a Sunday, needing to find somewhere for brunch.\nChard is typical of so many towns nowadays, where the high street suffers from shuttered shops and limited eating possibilities, especially on a Sunday, so we headed to The Cerdic, not really knowing what to expect and we were very pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean and presentable and the food was tasty and well cooked, with goods portions and very well priced.\nFrom an uncertain choice, we were very happy with our decision and would happiy return. We were obviously not alone, as The Cerdic was quite busy by lunchtime and the majority seemed to be locals.

Haven't been in a long time.
The thing that really surprised me is that they had normal lactose free milk. Every café etc I've been too only have oat milk or soya milk. Being gluten intolerant also I can't have oat milk and I'm not supposed to have soya either so that leaves me with coconut milk. These 3 cost so much more to buy also. So actually having normal lactose free milk was really nice.
I had a wonderful piece of gluten free Victoria sandwich. So tasty.
My sister was with me with her daughter and friend and they had lunch with me.
Everything was lovely and served with a smile. Will have to go more often.
The menu is very good.

Chard Conservative Club
6 High St, ChardPoped into the chard club on bank holiday Monday evening and was welcomed buy simon and sue who where the only staff on duty the club was packed out with dart players and friends great to see hard working staff the club is very lucky.

8 High St, ChardLovely traditional pub. Friendly staff, Landlord and Landlady very welcoming. Great atmosphere at all times. Nice crowd if people. Child and Dog Friendly. Live music, pool table and darts. Skittle alley / function room and the food is homecooked fresh to order. This place has really been turned around in the past 2 years. Well done guys. ?

20 Boden St, ChardWe call into Whites on our way to Dorset, sometimes on our way back as well. Each time we receive a welcome greeting and superb fish and chips. Our fish and chips are usually eaten in a quiet layby or country lane as we leave Chard and we count ourselves so lucky to have found Whites. Thank you so much, will be back soon.

Bath House Hotel & Restaurant
28 Holyrood St, ChardWe had such a lovely time at The Bath House. The food was absolutely delicious — you can tell it’s cooked with real care and passion. Karine was outstanding, so friendly and attentive, and really made us feel welcome. Ron, the chef, is fantastic — every dish was perfectly cooked and full of flavour. It’s such a pleasure to find a place where both the food and the people make you feel special. We’ll definitely be back!

Hornsbury Mill Hotel & Wedding Venue in Somerset
Hornsbury Hill, ChardHad a wonderful carvery here on a Sunday. The quality of the meat and the veg were second to none. Had a walk around the grounds afterwards and admired the pond and ducks. Well worth a visit A☆

The Haymaker Inn
Wadeford, ChardJust had a lovely stay 4 days at the Haymaker though in village of Wadeford near Chard still easy to get to many surrounding towns and further. The Accomodation was very good clean comfortable room with bathroom and hosts were very friendly too. Breakfast was excellent orange juice choice of various cereals tea or coffee and Full English option and xtea toast too with selection of jams and Marmalade.
The pub served evening meals which looked very good choice but we like to eat Italian so opted to go to explore in the area to seek out a restaurant to suit.Though enjoyed a drink in the lounge area on return, excellent beer garden to enjoy when the weather is suitable.
Would well recommend this Inn to stay and would return there in future if we were to visit that area again. The motor museum was well worth a visit in the town of Taunton huge display of cars and motorbikes going back to 1960s and onward.

Bishopswood, ChardLate booking for Sunday lunch. Lots of veg, all very tasty. Not much beef sadly, and it was rather tough, but it was late in the afternoon. Lemon cake was lovely. Ordered a couple of flat whites - first time with cocoa sprinkled liberally on, not something I would order again!! In all, lovely place, good service and would definitely go back.

Lordleaze Hotel
The Lordleaze Hotel, Henderson Dr, Forton Rd, ChardWe went on a weekend break, hotel is lovely and extremely clean. Very friendly, kind and professional staff in all areas of the hotel. Food is amazing. Have a few selections of local ciders, cozy bar/ dining area . Only one challenge we faced on the bank holiday breakfast, short on staff in the kitchen and restaurant. We were a group of 12, orders were delayed for over an hour for some ,, service was kind of lost and I guess they ran short of eggs, sausages and some other stuff. Otherwise lovely hotel ,beautiful location and friendly staff.
The Electric car charges are only for decoration, it does not work.

19B High St, ChardGreat Fish & Chips, also their Roasted Chicken is very well cooked, and good value. when we are next down that way this would be a go to fish bar, interestingly either side of the fish bar is a Curry house and Chinese restaurant, so plenty of choice for such a small village
