1627 Cross St, Castleton, Hope ValleyAbsolutely fantastic, well worth a visit if you are in Castleton! Road tripping round Derbyshire we decided to take a change booking here as a break from pub food etc.
The food here is delicious, from the olives to start right through to dessert. We had the garlic bread with sea salt and pizza sauce, well worth a try as something different. The duck and crab pasta dishes also fab. We could go on! It's great service by friendly staff and great food that we cannot recommend enough, what a hidden gem.

The Anglers Rest, Bamford
Taggs Knoll, Bamford, Hope ValleyWe had our sons 18th birthday party at the Anglers tonight. We had exclusive use of the tea rooms but could go in and out of the pub area too. Claire, Tom and all the staff were fabulous. So friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Tom made a menu just for us. Then there was the added bonus of a disco and karaoke in the pub. Thank you so much for a brilliant night.

Eyre Arms
Peak District National Park, Chesterfield Road, Hope ValleyWas extremely disappointed we booked this online arrived on time was seated and left for 10 minutes when the waitress came and took our drinks order then waited a further 30 minutes after which a member of our party went to find someone to take our food order - the staff members were stood at the bar on their phones and chatting…… the place wasn’t busy either …. other than our party of 3, there was one other table of 7 who also had to go looking for staff when they wanted condiments in the end they gave up as there dinners were getting cold …… 45 minutes later and food arrived…. Which was promptly send back as it was only lukewarm we paid extra for cauliflower cheese …. Don’t bother, again lukewarm overcooked cauliflower and a powder taste no cheese in sight, absolutely swimming in gravy waitress came to ask how the food was and explained our concerns and disappointment to which she agreed. We didn’t eat the roast dinners however 1 person had the scampi and that was lovely. See pics what you see on pubs website and what we got.

The Castle
Castle St, Castleton, Hope ValleyHad a very nice stay here. Room was large, clean and comfy if a tad on the pricey side for what it was. Food was decent pub grub. Breakfast excellent. Service good despite the young team being short-staffed and run off their feet. All in all a nice place to stay.

Maazi Hathersage
6 The Square, Main Rd, Hathersage, Hope ValleyI visited Maazi in Hathersage last night and the food was absolutely incredible. I had the garlic chilli chicken and butter chicken — both full of flavour, perfectly cooked, and generously portioned. The restaurant itself is also lovely inside, with a great atmosphere and a stylish interior.
However, the service really let the experience down. Our waitress (a young woman) was quite off-putting — she’d approach the table and just stand silently, staring at us for a few seconds, as if expecting us to guess what she wanted. It made the whole interaction a bit uncomfortable.
At the end of the meal, we had to ask for the bill, which was fine, but she gave us no time to look over it before shoving the card reader in my face — without asking if we were paying cash or card, or even who was paying (which wasn’t me, it was my friend). It felt rushed and very rude.
Overall, the food was fantastic and I’d come back for that alone, but I hope the service improves and the staff get some better training in customer service, it really took away from what could’ve been a perfect evening.

Three Roofs Cafe
The Island, Castleton, Hope ValleyThis is a lovely little restaurant and worth your visit when in Castleton. It serves some amazingly tasty and fresh food, which has homemade written all over it. The staff are wonderfully warm and welcoming, going out of their way to make you feel comfortable despite the cosy space. The ‘soup of the day’ is consistently delightful and never disappoints. A spot I would wholeheartedly recommend to anyone visiting.

The White Hart Inn
Town Gate, Bradwell, Hope ValleyBrilliant pub. Staying in Bradwell for weekend break. Decided to try the local. We could not have been made more welcome by the staff and locals. We spent entire evening there to very late, singing to karaoke etc. our dogs were made very welcome too. Thank-you for making our weekend so special.

Cross St, Castleton, Hope ValleyA great place to stay, stylishly decorated and very clean. Well stocked rooms with everything you need. Our dog was also welcome and treated as a guest. The breakfast was amazing. The hotel is well situated in the village and has good parking.

Will return to try the battered pineapple battered oreo and the Yorkshire fish cakes. We visit a different chip shop every week and this one is the best so far. Look forward to returning

Unit 2, 8 Castleton Rd, Hope, Hope ValleyI came from Barnsley specifically because my friends wanted me to try this place. The service was amazing and the food was soooo much better than I expected! Really good prices too, I highly recommend stopping by this place and grabbing a sandwich or 2 if you ever have the chance, you won’t regret it!

Great selection of beers, drinks and snacks and plenty of options for seating (both indoor and outdoor). Easy for cars to park and prices very reasonable. An excellent option for a last supper on a weekend with friends

Clodhall Ln, Calver, Hope ValleyCame across Jolly's whilst on a walk on a very busy Sunday. Had a coffee and an absolutely stunning white chocolate and pecan tiffin. And was fortunate that a big group were leaving so I could sit on one of the chairs!
If you're in the area and in the market for excellent cake, well worth visiting.

Swimming Pool, Oddfellows Rd, Hathersage, Hope ValleyI went with my sister and young grand children yesterday, the food was lovely, definitely recommend them. But there was an incident as I were taking the young ones to the toilet, an elderly man who was sat down made an awful and disgusting comment to me as we walked past him. He asked if he could join me in the toilet! My grandsons didn't really hear him but my 10 year old niece did,and she was shocked! As we walked back out the man was walking out,so I told him the comment he made was disgusting especially in front of children, his excuse was he was only joking! I did tell the members of staff about what happened and they said they would pass this on to management. From what they said he was a regular customer in there.I hope someone tells this man that he's barred from there!

Eyam Tea Rooms and Accommodation
The Square, Eyam, Hope ValleyStayed at the annexe and also had food and drink at the tea room. Room is lovely and perfect base for exploring the area. Tea Room has great food and drink and really welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend both!
