Favourite Grill
103 High St, Canvey IslandSuch a friendly warm lovely couple own this place. They always make me feel so happy when me and my partner visit randomly for food. Their pizzas are lovely and so are their kebabs and curly fries. I like mine crispy so I asked and they happily obliged. I believe she is going to soon be doing curry as well as an option which we are looking forward to as she is from New Delhi and so it will be authentic ?.
Honestly please support these lovely people they are worth supporting.

Haven Rd, Canvey IslandFirst visit, really nice pub, clean and inviting. Staff friendly, food was hot and tasty. Starters nice choice with a random prawn cocktail, doesn’t flow with the rest of the menu, the menu on the website is different and there isn’t a 2 or 3 course special, but still nice and fresh. Was a couple of flies but that’s just due to the warm weather and being by the seawall not an issue. Reasonable price on par with most restaurants. Would recommend a visit. Unusual location good size carpark.

132 Furtherwick Rd, Canvey IslandCame down to Pizza 38 this evening. Fast service. Modern and clean look inside. Nice staff and people on the desk. Fast service, waited 5-10 minutes and food was hot and ready. Large menu variety, we had kebabs. Still hot when we walked home (at least 15+ minutes away.) Tasty and meaty kebab, perfect quality and a perfect quantity. Will be returning!

Didn’t take card payment not sure it was temporary. Was not a problem as there is a ATM in the supermarket opposite. Highly recommend. Will be going again for sure and nice and local .

You go upstairs, lovely welcome from the lady at the bar, wasn’t busy, probably best to book as not a big area, ordered food cash only, omelette ,chips and salad presentation and fullness on the plate amazing tasted yummy nice and fresh, excellent value for money, well done Janice. Near the seawall great for an after lunch walk. Pleased we went here would go again ?

New Mandarin Chinese Takeaway
358 Long Rd, Canvey IslandFriendly young Chinese man who takes the orders at the shop and also the white delivery man. Both are so warm and friendly. Without sounding rude, white lady who works their looks as if she needs a good wash. Her hair always looks greasy. If you’re front of house, look representable. People like myself will judge you as I’ve already done here.

94 Point Rd, Canvey IslandAlways the best Chinese locally!!! Staff always nice & good reliable food. We always vary between smoked chicken, salt & chilli chicken/prawn, duck, seaweed, beef chow mein, anything in black bean sauce, prawn toast and rice & curry sauce. Portions are very good and prices are fairly reasonable (around £25 for 4 dishes delivered on average). Free prawn crackers & a bottle of drink too if spend over £30 I think. My only critique is wish they did normal mini veg spring rolls as don’t like these ones they are large battered! Sometimes a tad greasy but overall enjoyable!

Perfect rice, best peshwari nan I’ve ever had and the Tarka dal was perfect. Main courses of lamb madras and lamb korai were delicious. Delivered before the indicated time still piping hot. Many food choices for everyone Presents were beautiful stuffed toys they also received an elf colouring book plus a letter to write to Santa then to top it off the Grinch appeared it was probably the best breakfast with Santa we have done over the years every staff member went above an beyond was perfect for SEN children also because it doesn't get overly busy

Shells marina tearoom
Smallgains Marina, Canvey IslandShells marina tearoom is one of those hidden gems. Located inside the boatyard, it's a little confusing to get to, but there are sign posts directing you. It's a very cosy affair, however a fair sized outside seating area and tables inside. The food is cooked in a tiny kitchen (how Shell manages is a miracle), fresh, hot and tasty. I only had a roll as I was feeling a little peckish. Car parking is very hit and miss, but there are places to park. It is essential to book for Sunday roasts as they are very popular.
