The Milbank Arms
Bedale Rd, Well, BedalePlace was very busy with Christmas bookings. We were a group of six. We booked well in advance to ensure we got a table. We arrived at little early so were seated in a waiting area. Food was delicious. We had a mix of Sunday lunches and specials. Staff were friendly and service was good.

The Woodman Inn
Burneston, BedaleI want to take some time to describe this place as it's highly recommended where I had a great stay , rooms are spacious and clean, there is good parking space and nice garden in front of rooms, Bar is excellent with nice villagers around and love the staff who provided great service in whole stay, Food is excellent with good discounts for guests, nice place in Yorkshire for holiday, also for business purposes, definitely will visit again

The Black Horse Inn
The black horse The green, Kirklington21 friends for a 2 or 3 course Christmas meal. The food and service were exceptional. Everything was piping hot. Beautiful decor. Cheryl and Dave are fantastic hosts and not forgetting Millie and Clare for a super service. They’ve a beautiful beer garden in the summer months.

The Fox & Hounds
Carthorpe, BedaleWe stopped for a coffee break on a journey from Scotland to London and were treated to a fresh and generous cafetiere with delicious complementary mince pies. Warm and cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and the menu looked good too.

The Sprouted Kitchen
The Bridge, Aiskew, BedaleThis is a relatively new cafe but is a little gem. The quality is superb and the cost would easily be 3 times the price in large upper class restaurants. The menue is limited but don't let that put you off as there are often new menu items daily. The staff are brilliant and extremely accommodating. Amazing place and well worth a visit.

41 Market Pl, BedaleWe ordered a take away while staying in a nearby coffee and the food was delicious! Staff were very friendly when I went to pick up as well. Next time we visit Bedale we'll come for a sit down meal!

The Old Black Swan
19 Market Pl, BedaleWe had the Sunday Roast Dinner, Beef and Rump Lamb plus trimmings. The meat was super tasty and perfectly cooked. But what really made the dining so wonderful was the sides, mash was delicious, roasties where perfect and fluffy, gravy was lovely and hot, coliflower cheese was creamy and toasted, carrots done to perfection beans and parsnip simply amazing. Honestly, this is the best Pub Roast dinner we have ever been to. Well done the Black Swan ..... lovely

2 Emgate, BedaleStayed for one night as I was viewing a property in the area. Very friendly welcome, ended the evening chatting with Rob and Sara, which was very enjoyable. Woke up to a fantastic breakfast, perfect stay. Heartily recommend.

21 N End, BedaleUsed this take away for a few year , since been taken over got a bit pricy, the rice has been over cooked for the last 4 visits (Stodgy ) , must be batch cooked along with the chips and re heated , as they are getting tough so will need to find a decent Chinese takeaway over Thirsk way that'll get our weekly orders, sometimes twice a week ! Decent staff, just a shame about the decline of the food.

Taste of India
32 Market Pl, BedaleWe were visiting for a few days and Taste of India was recommended by locals.
The food was really high quality, perfectly cooked and many dishes seemed unique to the restaurant, we both tried dishes we hadn't had before and were not disappointed.
The two gents working in the restaurant couldn't have been more helpful. A real gem of a place highly recommended.

The Castle Arms Inn
Snape, BedalePub re-opened under new tenancy 21st January.
Increased opening times, including some lunch times and with food.
Whilst lunch menu was restricted initially, we understand full menu now available lunch times.
We have eaten from lunch menu, evening menu and Sunday menu, alongside daily specials (now started week day lunch fixed menu specials too).
Food excellent, beer excellent and a very warm welcome.

20 Market Pl, BedaleI tell you what - the dog that was wandering round here absolutely loved a belly scratch. Ear scratches, not too fond but still good. Back scratches - he wouldn't get out of bed for them. Head scratches were apreciated and respected though.

29 N End, BedaleStaying locally in caravan and popped in last night. Had freshly cooked Haddock and chips which were delicious. Cooked in beef dripping the fish was a decent size as were the chips. Served by a lovely friendly lady who was happy to chat whilst she was cooking.

Costa Coffee
23 Market Pl, BedaleThe staff in Costa Bedale are so polite & you don't feel as rushed as you do in other Costa's I've been to. Last time we were in there the fire alarm went off (we were told not to worry, there's no fire), it was an issue that when the door opened it seemed to set it off. We found it quite funny & had a laugh with the staff about it afterwards. The manager there at the time came over & had a chat with us to explain. Again I couldn't praise the staff enough!

Having read them thoroughly before visiting, you'll realise that these are not a fair representation of the Bedale branch as they cover 3 branches.We ordered in person and received fresh delicious food within 10 minutes. My pollo pizza was perfect, my fellas spicy beef pizza went down a treat (maybe more chillies?), the large chips were plentiful and the large mayo dip will keep us in mayo for the next month!I picked this pizza place because of the handmade dough and it doesn't disappoint. You can tell a great pizza when you feel like you can enjoy the dough just on its own. If we lived nearer, this would be our go-to pizza place. Thanks guys, we'll definitely be back next time we're in Yorkshire.

McDonald's
Great North Road, Leeming Bar Services, A1(M), BedaleHad breakfast here. It was most probably the busiest McDonald's I have ever been in, they queue waa literally outside the door. It is on the services on the A1. Would visit again though as the food was spot on.
