Unit 4 Allen Mill Cottages, Allendale Town, HexhamGorgeous place, visited back in May. Super reasonably priced, full of lovely bits and pieces to look at and buy too. Paid £3 for a pot of tea, oat milk and some homemade shortbread. Absolute bargain! Reminded me of visiting a great aunt/grandma's house which is full of knick-knacks, warmth and yummy treats. Will be back!

The Crown Inn
Crown House, Catton, HexhamGreat night in the crown had some street food from the van which happens quite often, and we have also had the food from the crown itself, there was also a whisky tasting night so it was very busy so the atmosphere was really good ,and dog friendly so an added bonus if your visiting.?

The Kings Head
Market Place, B6303, Allendale Town, HexhamMy companion and I had a very comfortable overnight stay, 18th into 19th May. Phil was very welcoming and the evening spent in the bar was entertaining in itself, talking to strangers, who turned out to know people and places personally that WE know!! Breakfast next morning was delicious and very generous, enough to make a sandwich for lunch, rather than waste any! We'd go again.

During our two-day stay in Allendale we had breakfast twice at Emma’s Tea Rooms. Emma is friendly, welcoming and has a great sense of humour, which makes the place feel instantly warm and relaxed.
The Tea Rooms are set in a beautiful old English house right on the market square, in the heart of the village. It’s the kind of place that captures everything you hope to find in the English countryside: charm, friendliness and really good food.
On our first morning we had omelettes with fillings of our choice, freshly made and full of flavour. On our second day, our last in England, we went for a traditional English breakfast with fried bread. Everything was fresh, tasty and clearly made with care.
The homemade cakes looked absolutely delicious, and it’s a pity we didn’t have the chance to try them. That alone is a perfect reason to come back. Emma’s Tea Rooms are truly worth a detour if you’re travelling through Northumberland or the Pennines. Highly recommended.
