My two daughters and I had an exceptional breakfast. The service was attentive and everything was very well cooked. I had the Shakshuka, which was really good; one of my daughters had the pancakes, which were beautifully presented and my other daughter just had some very nice sourdough toast and some Halloumi.

Lovely cappuccino and the staff were friendly and helpful. Friends that I was with had lunch and they had dietary needs, that the staff were really great with and offered alternatives. We were made to feel welcome throughout our visit and I will definitely be back again.

Booked in at last minute for a 7.30 pm slot. Little bit quirky as you go into a hallway with nobody to greet you but go up the stairs and a lovely suprise dinning room. A lovely Waiter came over straight away, took our drink order ( brought over within minutes) asked if. we wanted popadoms and condiments and they where on the table in secounds. ( they are delicious.) Took our order fairly quickly,\nNow we are quite happy to wait for our food, (popadoms helped to ease my hunger ) and I believe that a meal is meant to savour and not rush so quite enjoyed watching the open kitchen and the hustle bustle of the restaurant. They where super busy with takeaways and for 45 mins was quite happy sitting and watching but after watching a walk in order and get their food before us then I was getting a bit peeved. To be fair we could of asked earlier why our food had not arrived but didnt want to bother the busy waiter. It then seemed to go very quiet after an hour and our food was brought out. \nFOOD\nwell it was well worth the wait. The sagaloo was the best I have ever tasted as was the naam, absolutely delicious. Plates where realy hot( husbands pet hate if they are cold) and the rest of the meal was realy good. We way over ordered and couldnt eat it all. \nWe had 2 mains, 2 speciality rice ( you only need 1 to share) a fairly big sag aloo, 1 peshawari naam, a huge popadoms with lots of condiments ( delicious) 2 large white wines and a beer for the grand total of £57 what a great price. \nIf you want a quick indian then order a takeaway you wont be disappointed, if you want a bit of a quirky evening meal to take your time over and just chill then book a table. \nWe realy enjoyed it and would return if we where came back to wells \nAs a side, the younger waiter who took over the service at the end is a credit to you, what a lovely young man

this place is just perfect!!
the atmosphere is so inviting, ia feels like a very big living room. the food? amazing, it tasted so good and everyone got just the right amount of fullness.
the price? so fair, i got the best english breakfast ive ever had for just 11 pounds!! what a steal.
the waitresses were very nice and the service was so fast! i ordered my dish, went to the restroom and when i got back it was just waiting on the table, ready for me to eat.
so in conclusion. this place is a must and I've got nothing bad to to say for it.

The Loft at Wells Cathedral

A nice little cafe with a selection of drinks, cakes, and other items. I had a luxury hot chocolate, which was delicious. I think there was more topping than drink, though! The cakes were nice, and the portion was just right.

There are steps up to the cafe. I didn't notice if there was any disabled access.

The cafe is quite cosy with plenty of tables and mismatched chairs.

Parking: There is minimal short stay street car parking nearby. However, there are a couple of long stay car parks with plenty of spaces about 10 minutes' walk away. The long stay car parks are pay by cash, app, or online and are quite cheap compared to other cities. We paid £6.50 for all day parking.

Wheelchair accessibility: I didn't see any access other than stairs. There isn't a lot of room between some of the tables in the cafe.

Quite exceptional food
As my history shows, I am a committed foodie and this was a quite superb experience. All courses were stunningly presented and of superb flavours too.
You are able to watch staff in the kitchen and chef is very calm and organised.
I am a huge fan of fine dining from cafes to 3* michelin venues and this was quite exceptional.

My wife and I went here for her birthday lunch. What a great pub in a lovely rural setting. The staff were very friendly and service was prompt. We both had a ploughmans which was very good and excellent value for money. We only live about 15mins drive from this pub and the only shame is that we hadn't been there sooner. We will definitely be going back.

Staying in Wells for a few days and ordered a takeaway. Easy to use online service, ready in good time, the staff were very pleasant and the food was delicious. We hadn’t appreciated it was a restaurant as well. It was busy when we got there and it looked like a nice place to have a meal. If we were staying longer we would definitely use again.

We rented a twin room for one night upstairs from the pub. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Room was clean, fairly large, comfortable, with standard amenities. The price was very reasonable, and I would definitely stay here again. Location is very convenient to everything. We stayed on a Monday night and the pub was quiet.

We had lunch here today - a family of four. We sat outside in the shade with a beautiful view of the cathedral.
The food was delicious and the service was excellent. It was one of those meals that I will always remember because everything was just right.

Came across Loaf purely by chance and was drawn in by the decor and chilled atmosphere.
I only ordered hot chocolate so I can’t comment on the food, but the hot chocolate was fabulous (good quality chocolate definitely), served in ‘huskee’ cups, cute little cups that really kept the hot chocolate ‘hot,’

The lady that served me was really friendly too, as I’ve said already I really liked the decor, just a cool Lille independent café will some great music playing in the background, loud enough to enjoy but quiet enough for conversation.

Was a bit skeptical visiting as I’m ashamed to admit I am one of those people who could read 100 good reviews and be put off by the 2-3 bad ones. But, I can admit I was wrong to even judge this place based on negative reviews, it was a pleasant experience, not a far walk from the local car park, lots of seating available, ordered at the bar and had drinks within 2 minutes and food within 25 minutes, and the food was lovely! I got the 3 starter deal and I wish I got 10 because they were great! The prawns/nachos/chicken wings were so nice! The lady serving and the gentleman manning the bar were lovely and attentive!
Top experience and I cannot wait to come again when I’m in the area!

So impressed when we went for ice cream here. The ice creams were delicious! My friend cannot have gluten and they have gluten free cones. Not only that but Tom who served us was extra careful and used the new tubs of ice cream for my friend to ensure there had been no cross contamination with crumbs of regular cones. Absolutely excellent service and wonderful to have someone so allergy aware. Thank you!

We came to visit here from London, loved how friendly the staff and locals were to us! We genuinely felt that West Country hospitality. We had three coffees and all were delicious and of very high quality, but the cakes … the cakes were out of this world, home baked and very delicious! Clearly high quality ingredients were used as well. If we are back in Wells, this is our new go to coffee spot.

The Good Earth

I needed somewhere to have lunch whilst I work and Good Earth was on my list. This place is cosy yet full of character and life. It was busy downstairs so conveniently I went upstairs where I was quieter. My quiche salad was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. I highly recommend this place for those who want a coffee and a chat with old friends, that’s definitely the vibe I got from the customers.
